    Terrific build. Excellent craftmanship. I had the same issue with my city in Texas, had to keep it off the house or I could not build because of the easment.

      You can build it but there has to be a 1” air gap between the two structures due to setbacks, let’s just say the inspector was cool

    The reason for the seperation issue is fire safety. Since the patio is attached to the house they probaly conisdering an extension hence it couldnt be close to the rear setback. BUt because you made it freestanding and its open structure you could theory enchroach. That gap counts as fire seperation between teh two structures.

      I agree but a 1” air gap won’t stop a fire from spreading, typically your fire gap between buildings is 5’-10’

    Just curious, why was the concrete poured without rebar?

      @@alejandrocarrizales1691 we typically install rebar when the concrete will not be exposed to the elements. If you can imaging a small crack in the Crete and water drips in and starts to rust the rebar. That will cause an even larger crack down the road. So we use fiber

    Wow, I want an illegal gambling patio, too! That's awesome. It must be huge to have a craps table and two blackjack tables. As well as a roulette wheel in the first part when you're panning around. 😂🤣😅 great way to pay for the patio cover.

    I was wondering how you built it so close to the fence. I have a 43ft by 12 ft patio and I could not go any further out . I have fans and recess lighting . Still need to finish it off by putting shiplap on the ceiling.

      If it’s not touching your house your rear setback will be much less, after inspections you can tie it back into your house.

      Thank you so much! It’s definitely a one of a kind patio cover. Materials are around 10-15k but you can save around 3k if you didn’t have to anchor the posts 6’ into the earth, and if you don’t use a clear span beam where a wall will go.

    I am wondering about bracing. Because you set the posts in ground was bracing not needed? What does the steel do for the posts? Will they eventually rot?

      It does not need bracing as the steel and wood in the concrete is strong enough. The steel prevents the wood from contacting the concrete

    Extremely awesome setup there buddy! However, I know you are very very proud of your product but bare in mind, these are seen everywhere around where I live(well the other side of town that is). But keep in mind, if this is what someone wnated in the "hood" or "transition" areas to 1-off the home, this for a fact is something you won't see. This is immediately $30,000 in personal home value. I'd pay for just because it's there. Love it man!

      depends on where you live and what contractor you hire, but this entire setup with speakers, and finishes can run you 30-50k

      Anything attached to the house abides by the house setbacks. However separate structures abides by a different set of setbacks and you can encroach pretty close to the back wall.

    Oh my God, that was poured at like an 8in slump. Did you get any grief from the homeowner on the color adding all that water probably made it two 2shades lighter. lol Sorry just had to say something about that. I really wanted to say great work looks amazing I can't wait until mine is finished I'm doing 14x14 gazebo with tung and groove celling with a 8x8 sectional seating that drops down 1ft from main grade then wrapping concrete countertops around two walls and rounding the end to a 4x4 rounded table for games and what not then doing Allen block walls for the concrete counter supports and cabinets with fire place and another section to the side for outside sink BBQ concrete countertops as well with block in the back and cedar cabinets and so much more I been designing this thing in my head for two years now I'm finally starting the gazebo build tomorrow. You do very good work and I'll definitely be doings that entertainment center wall how you did I was just going to inset TV and call it good until I seen this project thanks videos and contributing to my project

      @@panzon3236 we are in Arizona so it doesn’t rain that much but yes the sides are open, the customer could get shades but you risk getting them damaged if it’s to windy. The water doesn’t puddle either because the concrete is sloped

      Standard rolled roofing on top rolled underneath the underlayment of existing house roofing. Pretty simple,

    I would say that the bottom of the wall doesn't look promising... Rain water will soak in the wood, and there are no air gap for panel to dry from back side.. Looks nice, but would be much better if the framing would be done the right way. :)

      Stuck to the engineers design and luckily this is in Arizona and it doesn’t rain much at all.

      how about a stem wall with some pier hole for the posts and not sink them in the ground , it totally cracks me up seeing some of these videos on utube . there is a right way then there is a u-tube way and before you say anything I've been a carpenter for 40 years and I have seen what works and what doesn't ! by the way your engineer is high , it doesn't make things right sometimes just because of an engineer most over build but it does show me that this one doesn't

    Hi, why no reinforcement mesh for the concrete slab?

      We don’t believe in rebar or any kind of steel in concrete that is exposed to the elements, unless it is a driveway with heavy equipment or vehicles, as when the concrete cracks and steel is exposed to the water it will cause cracking at a much more rapid rate. We preferably use fiber in concrete exposed to the elements

    I would of used 4 steel posts and kept the TV wall 1 inch or so off concrete slab with J bolts and nuts. Super cool look ++ but engineering fails for longevity. . .seen fails like this before . . .learn

      Thank you and that’s a Great idea, however the vertical posts are sealed with a quad sealant and it has another layer of protection from the new wall we built that also has quad sealant. If customer decides to install gutters this build will last even longer! Thanks for the input

    I mean they build entire houses out of timber wrapped in vinyl... But a patio... Needed those metal sleeved solid timber poles.
