With a decent Helmet Ultra bee is very quiet. Additionally there is no sound at all when you stop. This means when you stop at a traffic light there is no engine sound. Call when you pull up at a restaurant, and people are sitting outside eating. Or cruising around your neighborhood late at night slowly.
Interesting point about the quietness of the Ultra Bee. While it’s nice to have a silent ride, some riders argue that a lack of noise could be a safety concern, especially in urban areas where people might not notice an electric bike approaching. Do you think the silence might pose a risk in traffic, or is it just a matter of adjusting to new expectations around electric vehicles?
@admitjet That's actually something that hasn't crossed my mind. I think the most important thing is being visible. For me that means helmet and clothing that stand out, I e. Not black or dark. Avoiding traffic when I can, and always being cautious. As a car driver, the only motorcycles that get my attention are there really loud noisey ones. These also tend to be the most reckless. I suppose if one is really concerned, they could add simulated noise makers?
@@admitjetThat’s the main argument for people with combustion engine. First change… the loudest exhaust. Even with all the European regulations. Noise on a motorcycle just please the driver himself … sometimes the surroundings too. I won’t lie I love to hear an FMF exhaust on a 690 smcr 😅. But what a car driver give always as excuse. Sorry … I didn’t see you!! Not I didn’t hear you. Make yourself more visible, not louder. I would love to have a secondary belt drive on the Ultra Bee.
@@nicolasp1602 Totally agree with you-visibility is way more important than noise when it comes to safety. The whole "loud pipes save lives" thing? Kinda overrated, honestly. Most of the time, drivers miss bikes because they don’t see them, not because they can’t hear them. And yeah, I get it-an FMF exhaust on a 690 SMCR? Absolute eargasm! 😅 But electric bikes like the Ultra Bee bring a whole new vibe-stealthy, smooth, and still super fun to ride. A secondary belt drive on the Ultra Bee sounds like an awesome idea. Quieter, less maintenance, and it might even make the ride feel more refined. What do you guys think? Should electric bikes stay silent and own that as part of their identity, or would adding some sound-natural or even artificial-make them even better? Let’s hear your thoughts!
