Raptor Rex I don't know why your 2.5k subscribers aren't 2.5 million!? As a Catholic I'll pray for your explosive and much needed growth.

Hey raptor Rex, a really awesome video, I would love to learn about other prehistoric turtles down the road, they are quite unheard of by the public! In terms of archegonia diets preferences, the strongly hooked beak suggests a carnivorous diet and predatory lifestyle. In other turtles this is used to catch and tear apart small struggling prey (fish, amphibians, worms, reptiles, mammals etc.) whether on land or in water. Turtles that consume hard-shelled prey usually have large heads, wide compact beaks and robust jaw plates for grinding and crushing. If archelon had jaw plates, it’s head anatomy would be useful for both soft and armored prey. If not, it probably fed on large but softer-bodied animals.

I always thought the plasteron looked like sprockets

It wasn't a solid shell like green sea turtles, but a leathery hide that covered a series of osteoderms and ribs rather than either a shell or a single bone structure protecting the body.

They lived long enough to know pliosaurs and mosasaurs, cool.

Pliosaurs were almost extinct courtesy of the Cenomanian-Turonian Boundary Event when the iconic Western Interor Seaway fauna began ti develop. That’s why mosasaurs only became fully aquatic from that point on-with pliosaurs mostly gone and ichthyosaurs completely wiped out, their niches had been left vacant for the taking.

Wonderful, but the global flood was only about 4,300 years ago.
