Very well done! I have wondered which of these two predators would win in a one to one battle and you have answered the question for me. Thanks so much for the excellent content!!!
A highly unique angle for the WIS! Great job portraying each of these species as dynamic in their own right. Plesiosaurs must do everything they can. The Holzmaden reptiles might be worth a go. Suevoleviathan has those gangly flippers and the potential of a colored tail fluke for communication. There are also the hypercarnivorous ichthyosaurs of the late Jurassic-Cretaceous, like Grendelius, Kyhytysuka, Pervushovisaurus, and Longirostria. I'm intrigued by these Styxosaurs requiring mixed diets. Maybe that's to be expected (I don't know), but do you think any marine reptile could have been a strict specialist in fish only, squid only, or belemnites only?

Your storytelling is wonderful.
It's interesting that in the Cenozoic no mammalian water predators convergently evolved long necks and a similar lifestyle.
I wonder why?

How about you do Albertosaurus sometime? Just a thought.
You'll be happy to know that it's on my 'Species To Do' list.

What if plesiosaurus were like living spear fisher spears
