You sir, are a rockstar and it takes a big man to not only admit his mistakes but to also share his mistakes and help others learn from them. I appreciate how your TH-cam search pops out with “stop and read this first” as it really caught my eye and helped me change my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee rear wiper blade in less than a minute whereas I would’ve fumbled with it for A while and even possibly broke something like you did. THANK YOU!

Thank you!! I almost broke mine until I decided to stop and see if anyone had actually made a video for changing a jeep rear wiper. Such a simple trick that beat my prior 15 minutes of feeling stupid because I couldn’t figure it out. 😁

Thanks so much! My dealership's service dep't. told me they wanted to replace the rear wiper blade when I took the Jeep in to get it inspected, but I told them I'd do it myself. Went to a parts store and got a replacement blade, then couldn't figure out how to do it! TH-cam to the rescue. "It's easy when you know how."

Thank you so much for the clear concise information! I broke my wiper arm exactly the same way. Not sure exactly how to safely pull the arm assembly off with damage I elected to take vehicle to local Jeep dealer. Replacing rear arm and blade plus both front wiper blades quoted an astronomical $425!!!
Plus they quoted over $600 to replace a leaking emissions hose which caused the check engine light to remain on. I emphatically said NO to all service. Will attempt all repairs myself.
    Highway robbery for sure.

I've taken mine off, worried if I broke anything, at night at a gas station. I have yet to put the new one on. Thanks for the tips of carefully opening the cover to unattach the whole thing, which way to face the blade, examining the whole thing. Basically, I can just face it the right way and snap it in. Thank you.

Nice video I have a 2019 hyundai tucson and so on TH-cam you see these vids of guys just literally pullout the old wiper with one hand, but on mine I couldn't do that so I gave up on it and on my next oil change I'll just have the mechanic do it, not all cars are the same and so these guys that make these how to vids need to point out that even though you drive the same model not everything is easy on the same vehicles, i too might break something so I stopped trying to replace it.

@@OurSimpleAdventures I received a replacement from RockAuto and installed it yesterday. Great replacement, the only thing I noticed is that the brass bushing insert in the arm head of the Dorman replacement is not splined (it's smooth), unlike the factory arm head bushing. The only thing holding the arm head to the swing arm is the tension spring. I was able to replace the factory arm head onto the Dorman wiper arm. The splines hold the wiper arm head onto the mounting post ensuring it locks into position.

Hey, thanks for sharing this important tip with everyone!! I am just about to replace all of the wipers on my jeep and even though I'm a pretty capable woman, I seem to always run into problems whenever I do the simplest of repairs so now I know what not to do!! I also have to change the bulb in my rear tail light but I have tried to remove the 2 round black pins in order to pull off the cover but I don't have the proper tool I've seen used in other video tutorials. I tried using 2 flathead screwdrivers, 1 on each side to slowly wedge them out but I'm afraid they will break if I force any further. Do you have any tips on something else I could use so I won't have to waste any money on buying a tool that only serves one purpose?? Thanks alot, Cathy

Cool and you're welcome. I hope it helps! So is the screw in the taillight star shaped? I haven't done the tail light yet. If it is it is probably a Torx bit. They aren't expensive and they are becoming more and more common. You don't want to damage the screw cause that just causes more issues and money. Thanks for the question and nice comments! Everything you described I did the exact same thing. Put the #$%#$% on backwards. If it makes you feel better, I think the spring gets worn and you lose down pressure so I'm putting a new arm on. Great video

Very helpful. Thanks! I’ve got a problem with my wiper motor and chemo brain here from cancer treatments and don’t wanna make a mistake … I gotta figure out why my rear wiper motor is sticky or kinda weak. It’s acting stiff. It seized completely once. Then I sprayed into it a bit with Fluid Film, then later with WD 40 through the small spaces at the wiper attachment. Both helped a bit, but it’s still wanting to seize I feel. I’m afraid it will and I need it in Ontario’s bad weather sometimes lol. What would you do? Please like if you answer so I get a notification. Subbed. Thanks!

Hi Remedy Project! First of all God Bless you through the cancer treatments! It sounds like it is ready to quit on you. I think I would just go ahead and replace it before it does. Thanks for the question and for subbing! Again God Bless!

It takes one for the rear window and yes it's different from a front wiper. There is a link in the description if you want to buy one. Thanks for the question! Give us a follow and Subscribe as there will be more!

Our Simple Adventures believe it or not I reused the arm and hardware from the old wiper. I bought a new wiper and it was too big plus the hardware would not fit. So I took out the new wiper blade cut it to fit the track of the old blade hardware and it fits like a glove. Just some of my hillbilly fortitude. 👍
