@@Gojirawars03 I never had an issue with the BW animation. Probably because I watched all the early CG cartoons I could as they were released. My only complaint is that the pre-humans (whatever they're called) were horribly modeled.
With Animated, I don't know what about the aesthetics is bothering me.
The one with the visor face is basically G1 Personality. While I don't like animated that much. He was great written character. Sad we couldn't see him again in Season 4
The introduction of the triple changers to the transformers was so mind blowing in the 80's. It was a wild time to be alive. 3 alternative modes to choose from, it felt like anything was possible those days.

Animated Bliztwing is still my personal favorite. I like the concept of being a triple changer suffering multiple personality and the idea of triple changing technology is dangerous with a huge side effect.

😈It's more crazy that they even made figures of that one with Megatron's tank mode!
Cannot believe Bltizwing would have come out in Starscream Ghost and Ghost in the Shell episodes, except they wanted to sell the new Octane character.

peak blitzwing moment would still be telling the constructicons to essentially off themselves and panic when they form into devastator.
He’s the only Decepticon Triple Changer I had as a kid, and I always went for cartoon accuracy and put his nosecone in front in tank mode.
The Legacy Blitzwing is a cool figure. But man I would love how the SS86 version would look or even a potential Legacy Animated figure!
An SS86 Blitzwing would likely just take the Legacy version and do what Takara did with the Titans Return one for their LG59 version: replace all that dark purple with a lighter purple (around the same shade as either Kingdom Galvatron or Kingdom Cyclonus). Maybe even take away the sword, since he didn't really have it in the Movie.
I would hope it gets retooled a bit to be more movie accurate. Especially the jet mode.
as a kid of the 80s. when blitzwing & astrotrain came out. they were bad ass. it was like getting 3 toys in 1. they open the door for more triple changers
I'd say Blitzwing has earned a place in the ranks, cuz my favorite version of him is his 2007 Animated counterpart.

Blitzwing’s whole arc in 5 Faces of Darkness needs to get more attention. I know it was originally planned for Shockwave, but that’s besides the point.
Consider this for a second: Without Blitzwing, we might not have gotten Dinobot, Blackarachnia or Autobot Megatron.
Unless you want to include Jetfire into this, but that’ll only make sense if you’re using the original Marvel Comics version of him, the cartoon version wasn’t as compelling.
Animated blitzswing is amazing. All three of his personalitys are amazing and entertaining. I also like while he is very loyal he isn’t mindlessly loyal. He’s sometimes skeptical of megatrons instructions, and can except the possibility of megatron’s demise

Blitzwing is king of air and ground and is fierce. The Legacy figure I got at xmas for $29 and is awesome, the jet mode looks better than portrayed in most fan reviews.

I feel like a design team as knowledgeable as the one for the live-action films (in contrast to the writers and producers) wouldn't name a Seeker Blitzwing for no reason. I believe you theorized that Blitzwing could be rebuilt into a Triple-Changer a long time ago. Subsequent filmmakers would fumble by not taking that opportunity.
I propose Akums razor, they designed Blitzwing as Starscream for a cool trailer shot and baiting fans into thinking Bumblebee will fight him to sell tickets easier.
Blitzwing is my favorite Decepticon triple changer. Animated Blitzwing is my version of Blitzwing.
I hope there’s a new Animated Blitzwing toy for the legacy universe toyline.
I hope Blitzwing appears in the Skybound comics along with the Stunticons (Menasor), the Arielbots (Superion), Blurr, Powerglide, Thrust, Dirge, Ramjet and etc.

Always loved the Animated version. The design, the personality, the voices, and the toy are all a slam dunk. He and Lugnut always made for a great villainous duo.

I really like his Animated persona as an updated take. That being said I do wish his G1 counterpart had more story than he got.
G1 voice actors for Blitzwing and Astrotrain (Ed Gilbert and Jack Angel) have both sadly passed away.
Blitzwing's g1 toy is an enigma, truly one of the wonkiest interpretations of the artwork that led to a crazy misunderstanding that completely boned the legacy figure.
Animated is definitely my favorite version. Doing a Schwarzenegger impersonation is always fun.

Blitzwing is a character I think the writers REALLY wanted to change sides but I guess Hasbro never let them do for whatever reason.
Love G1 Blitzwing, but I must admit, Animated's idea of three separate personalities - and faces - was genius! As BW would say, "Gott im Himmel!"
Or rather, "Gott im Primel!" 😂
I love this guy, and it's crazy good how they made him in Animated, intentionally or not he's a representation of the terrors of war, especially ww2 (as hinted by the way he's built like an uniformed soldier and his german accent), the strategist cunning mind who leads the course of the war, the brutal unmerciful general, and the frontline soldier in his "random" personality, the latter even a mirror to real life soldier who went mad due to ptsd. The writers manage to hint at all this subtly while maintaining him a goofy and funny evil henchman for your average morning cartoon! 👌💯❤

Really great retrospective, I like Blitzwing. I really did enjoy the Animated version, very different. Also I tried getting an interview with David Sobolov but I never heard back. Great work Rodimus, another home run on your resume.
I think Blitzwing's greatest moment is in the G1 Season 2 intro when he is squashed by Omega Supreme after transforming into tank mode and then being scooped away by Scrapper.

Blitzwing was always an interesting character, if a little dim, but I do like what they did with him in animated, with him having three faces, three personalities, and controlling fire and ice blasts.

I absolutely love that his tank mode is always wrong. If you look at the original pictures, the turret is supposed to be facing the opposite of the cockpit from the jet. It’s just points toward the cockpit. I’m telling you look at the original pictures.

It wouldve been cool if g1 continued with the plot line of Blitzwing leaving the decepticons. I was always a little disappointed seeing him rejoin the decepticons with no explanation especially since it seems like he was tired of the war at the end of Five Faces of Darkness.
If I had a dollar every time I heard somebody was taken offline by a underbased power starscream, I'd be rich.

Great video of my favorite Deception, but FYI a tank doesn't have "treads" but "tracks". When his finished crushing Autobots, he can marry off "Beetlejuice".

I'd like to see you do a video dedicated to Transformers that changed sides, sort of like Blitzwing in the end of Five Faces of Darkness. To name a few more there's also Armada Wheeljack, Beast Wars Blackarachnia, Cybertron Scourge, and just about every Starscream ever.

Animated Blitzwing still remains the best Blitzwing, G1 Blitzwing is okay and gets away with the cool factor of being a jet/tank but Animated has the great personality(s) to remain a memorable character
Blitzwing in Animated is my favorite incarnation of the character. Animated cooked with many of the characters’ designs and writing and Blitzwing is no different. I thought him having three faces with different personalities was interesting and hilarious. Bumper Robinson was great as Blitzwing and I would’ve never thought Bee and Blitz were voiced by the same person as they sound completely different. You’re probably getting tired of me requesting this, but please do a retrospective on Lady Chromia!
I think No. 2 Helicopter Type is one of the few Diaclone molds not used in Transformers.

Found a certain spider's wolf/eagle boyfriend today. I found an interesting detail, if you don't close his mouth before transforming him the grey part of his belly will pop off. It's only connected by four 5mm posts which is interesting? I also "accidentally" put the swords on the correct side without even realizing they were different and could only go on a specific side. Silverbolt is a fun figure, and his face in wolf/eagle mode is adorable, he looks so happy when his mouth's open!

It was very disappointing when it was revealed that Blitzwing wasn’t Starscream in the Bumblebee movie I would of loved it if Screamer was the main villain of the movie, but at least Screamer was still in the movie.

This is a cool channel. This video especially since its one of my fav Transformers. I have the original purple and brown version from way back and also the 2022 Legacy version I got recently. But as Im listening to the video you talked about MASK, and Transformers Devastation. I used to love that intro to Mask. And I have Transformers Devastation and didnt play it up thru where Blitzwing appeared. At least I cant remember. But very details video going thru all the phases of Blitz.

I'm having a heck of a time with Legacy Blitzwing's legs, transforming them. I kinda have them stuck a certain incorrect way because for some reason the pins don't align in at least one leg at the top near the knee so i can't close it properly.

My blitzwing keep in mind I made this version of him when I was like 13 and only scene a few seconds of him: blitzwing was also appeared in the alligned continuity, though he wasn’t a Decepticon, he was a disaster bot, one of 5 manmade transformers who could cause smaller versions of national disasters. He was originally a non sentient drone designed to take out the rescue bots, but he and the other disaster bots were granted sparks via the sparksayer, this blitzswing was a notorious traitor, quick to take out his leader to take command for himself, and was insanly violent prioritizing the destruction of his rival hotshot over anything else, the only reason he remained on the team was because his leader was making an combiner and needed blitzswing to be part of it. He also has a video screen for a face and there was a running gag of his face screen being cracked only to reveal he was wearing a screen protector and replacing it on site

Using Blitzwing as cannon fodder in the Bumblebee Movie (I think) was a mistake. They should have let him be the triple changer working with Shatter and given the voice box scene to someone like Thrust, Hotlink, Dirge, Novastorm, or any other of the cannon fodder seekers.
I agree. I also think that the story of the Bumblebee movie feels like they were loosely adapting that arc in the Marvel Comics with the Triple Changers.
It's funny my little cousin, who was born in the late 80s early 90s was lifted several generation 2 toys including the new alt mode megatron who transformed into a tank. When he went back years later and watched the series proper he was really confused as to why blitzwing was the tank and not megatron lile his toy! I wonder if any other kids had this experience?

[ Well ] Blitzwing did took out 4 Autobots ( Unlike the others before the movie ), his form of a tank & Jet make him a threat ( Although he ain't the brightest of the Decepticons ) besides that no doubt he earn his place in the Decepticon ranks ( But its very unfortunate that Octane got the spotlight on the Season 3 episode Starscream's ).
