Nice work, my electric friend. You came up with a simple, excellent solution for us tradesmen or anyone with a truck. I am a 40-year journeyman carpenter
Great idea. I used the same rollers and track for my garage elevator. They are really strong and not that expensive. If I ever do get another truck I'm going to use your idea except I'm going to make a 7" tall box beneath the entire assembly to be able to put step ladders, paint poles, shovels, etc. underneath the slide out. That's an idea I saw from the tray they built on the video section of Fine Homebuilding Magazine about 10 years ago.
This is amazing! Great idea, great execution. A more in depth look at the springing mechanism for the lock would be cool as well! Also, maybe a demonstration of the amount of weight the tail end can hold
Gave me an idea for my 4x8 trailer. I have to haul furniture a lot. Lately been using an old table leaf to push a dresser let's go say then lift up but I then have to slide into trailer. Be easier to slide the bed out, load items onto 2 2x4 sheets with rails then slide out and lower down. that C conduit is strong. All I need to do is add a simple furring strip along the rollers edge to keep on track as it is pushed back into trailer. Do like those trolley wheels. I do have a bunch of caster wheels that fit the channel too.
Looks like regular plywood and not pressure treated. Great job and good ideas. I'm going to use your design with a few mods for mine. Thank you for the good share.
Nice!! Currently in the same boat wanting to build a slide out but refuse to spend $1-2k on a setup when I can build it. Definitely gonna incorporate some of your ideas here
A cable system like a hood latch release mounted under neath so you dont have to keep track of that red cord to release the lock. Your design is really good and I imagine even with weight on it it will open and close with little effort.
Fn amazing. I'm a plumber and I was trying to figure something out with Unistrut but couldn't figure out the rolling part where do you get those trolley rollers from?
Nice job. I built mine about a year ago and posted it on utube. I wonder if You saw my video. I am also an Electrician. It’s the best thing I ever did for my truck. I ended up selling it. It was a 1998 Silverado. I just bought a 2017 Silverado . I am going to do the same thing my tailgate is at an angle so I need to get longer tailgate cables. Otherwise the pull out hits it. Awesome job! I couldn’t believe all the good feedback I got when I was out in public using itI live in Colorado.
What a great system. I love it when trades design their own tool boxes. I've had an idea of getting some garage door track, placing some wheels onto some plywood and using this as the base for a pullout bed liner. Finding this track has proven to be a real headache. Could you please tell me where I could find those ball bearings you used? I actually have unistrut but could never find the wheels that would fit inside. Like you, I'm not paying $1500 for Decked System. Thank you. If you have anymore ideas about open bed truck storage, please make a video and pass them on.
Thank you for the video I was actually going to use wheels from a garage door truck but I found that wouldn't fit into the Unistrut. Do you have a video showing how you fasten the bottom part of your slide out to the bed?
I kind've did the same thing except I didn't have a lock latch. But seeing how yours work I'll be doing the same thing. I also sprayed the bottom sheet with bedliner on the top so it matched the box of my truck.
I am in the same situation. I want a tonneau cover. And a toolbox under it. But a bed slide is exorbitantly expensive for my budget. I like your ideas. I'll try it, for myself, and buy a tonneau cover later, too. And slide my toolbox out when I need it.
Thanks for this. I’m trying to come up with something similar for my truck bed, but I want it to be three separate slide outs, and maybe have the outside ones a little wider up until the fenders if that makes sense. Where did you source the bearings?
I love it, I actually store my bullshit plywood as a woodworker in the area that’s about the size of the back your truck. I’m trying to figure out a way that it can slide out so it’s easier to. Here’s my question for you, as I look at your bed of your truck, you have, the trolleys but in between that you have what looks to be metal pieces and I’m wondering what the purpose of those are.
A 2 piece design would be cool. Say lock the front half all the way up and lock the rear out past the tailgate for longer loads. And make it so they can be locked together to use like you have here.
It seems like the paracord would drop between the tailgate & bed of the truck while you’re driving. Have you had that happen? Good job. I like the spring loaded gate lock idea. Is it strong enough to stand on while fully extended?
Love what you did with your truck sliding bed I’m trying to do something similar. Where did you get your Charley bearings from? I would like to order them as well.
I have a similar slider but I used roller which are wearing out. I want to rebuild it so…What did you use and how did you attach the unistrut to the plywood so that it’s a smooth ride? Thanks in advance

I knew ya were a sparky too lol I was looking for a unistrut design. Great job, thank you for sharing.

Yoooo that’s awesome! Better than the cargo slide ! It low profile too! Thank you for this!
You're a genius! I had the exact same thoughts and you actually done did it yourself!
Brilliant!
Thanks for.posting. great idea, been in the same boat myself.
Nice build! Thank you for sharing your build. Rarel see good vids on this.
Dude... you're my hero...great idea!... I'm doing this in my jeep
I was just thinking of something similar.. just finished my truck drawers and wanted a top slide... awesome thanks 👍
The spring latch with the rope is a really good idea! Nice!
Wonderful job I love it

genius! you would think more people would be using this very strong system
Looks like regular plywood and not pressure treated. Great job and good ideas. I'm going to use your design with a few mods for mine. Thank you for the good share.
Pt plywood is terrible when exposed, just roll on some deck water proofing
Dude! Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks for sharing! Love it!
Improvise & Overcome, thank you for sharing.
Nice!! Currently in the same boat wanting to build a slide out but refuse to spend $1-2k on a setup when I can build it. Definitely gonna incorporate some of your ideas here
I love it. I want to make one for my truck now
Wow, nice job. I'll be planning mine with a fold out extension.
Simple. Brilliant. Well done.
Awesome idea. Was looking for something like this.
I never saw the need for one of these but my new silverados tailgate is really tall and makes getting bags of thinset, cement in and out a pita.
Nice work....strong as hell for sure. Thanks.
Very clever! Thanks for sharing!
Nice i've thought about doing the same thing but wasn't sure how the trolly wheels would work upside down, thanks for sharing.
A cable system like a hood latch release mounted under neath so you dont have to keep track of that red cord to release the lock.
Your design is really good and I imagine even with weight on it it will open and close with little effort.
Do you have links to the trolly bearings, as well as the unistrut that works with them
Anything 1-5/8” would be standard and compatible with itself.
Thanks. Really good idea. Going to do the same.
Nice work man

nice job Sparky !
Simplicity and functionality 👌👊

You asked any garage door companies? Look in their dumpster!
One that may actually work. Good ideas.
When you pull it out you should add some drop-down legs. Good job!
I like that idea. I might use it too
Love the slide idea,
Thank you for the video I was actually going to use wheels from a garage door truck but I found that wouldn't fit into the Unistrut.
Do you have a video showing how you fasten the bottom part of your slide out to the bed?
Great job !
Good work. Was just thinking of making one for my truck. I may just use your idea. Thank you.
Do you have a link to the bearings you used?
Awesome job. What is the 7/8” strut for?
Nice job!
I love outside the box thinking nice job
Wow niceeee idea
Spring loaded latch, almost missed it.

What size are the trolley wheels and where did you get them?
Look at McMaster carr
By chance do you have prints and a parts list?
Nice work, where did u get the trolley Bearings from, Can't find ones that have the mounting bracket for putting bolts on both sides? Thanks
Wondering the same. Not sure why people make videos and don't provide links or answer questions. Completely worthless.
👍👌 simple but effective , definitely have to try this
It looks like a great way to go. Could a guy save a little by using fewer rollers or is it necessary to use 11 of those guys?
I'm having a hard time getting these to keep in line. There is quite a bit of play on the bearings to the Unistrut?
I made a sliding gate using unistrut but didn’t know about these trolley bearings! The answer to my problem! Where did you find them?
That will be in my truck bed by Friday.
Great job sir!
I would like to see the locking mechanism
Nice job sir
Excellent
where can you get the pocket slides that big
Looks good to me ❤
Look at the Ron Paulk work bench and how it’s made. It would give you a rigid platform if you were to have a lot of weight.
Great video thank you
Badass man Imma make one
Thanks for this.

You should post a list of materials that you used.👊🏼👏🏼
Dude that's awesome! How did you attach the hardware to the truck box?
Yoooooooooo
Dope system man
A 2 piece design would be cool. Say lock the front half all the way up and lock the rear out past the tailgate for longer loads. And make it so they can be locked together to use like you have here.
Where did you get the trolleys. I'm looking online, and I there like 20 bucks a pair. Is that right seems pretty steep to me. I was just wondering.
@blackwater defense- how did you mount the base with trolleys to the bed of the truck? Or is it just slid in?
Where would you suggest getting the trolleys cheap. At $15 to $20 each. Price of DIY may prove to be little much
Is the bottom piece of plywood secured to the bed? If yes how?
Curious how much weight you've tested? How did you secure bottom sheet and trolly wheels?
It seems like the paracord would drop between the tailgate & bed of the truck while you’re driving. Have you had that happen?
Good job. I like the spring loaded gate lock idea.

Love what you did with your truck sliding bed I’m trying to do something similar. Where did you get your Charley bearings from? I would like to order them as well.
trolley bearings :)
fold out leg at the end needed?
Hi boss man I'm creating on underneath my truck. Where did you get the material from. (Latches, rollers, aluminum poles and etc.)
What site did u find the trolly bearing
Niice , only thing missing is parts list lol i would like to try it
Is the slide sloppy at all?
Is the base secured to the bed in any way? If so, how?
very nice man!!!
Heck yeah
Hell yeah
would you post the name of the wheels. Meaning, I need a search word to find them online. Or if you could post the link. thx
Why didn't you use a retractable string or a bungee cord for your liking string
I have a similar slider but I used roller which are wearing out. I want to rebuild it so…What did you use and how did you attach the unistrut to the plywood so that it’s a smooth ride? Thanks in advance
Awesome
Where do you get those rollers from?
Where did you source your trolley wheels? I'm having trouble finding a store that sells the correct type of wheels to run in the unistrut track
McMaster-Carr is where I found some
How much did it cost to build this cake?
I am having trouble finding those trolley bearings, anyone have a link?
Awesome!
How do you keep it from teetering when you extend it all the way out?
Nevermind. I see the bearing are inside of the unistrut lips.
Please link the bearings
You work for Fastenal?
How tall is it from the bed to the top of the slide
