I wish Canto had a "Home Version".... this is an ultimate SW to upload pics and share family pics that can be shared with different members. The only drawback is cost... Seems cost effective for commercial use, but prohibitive for personal use...
This is a great video. I like how you show the differences and what it can do. I have been looking for a comparison of the different organizers, storage, and editing programs. Do you mind if I ask you which one can do the following? Non compressed files, Faces and similar photos search, Identify duplicates, Batch uploads fm Google, Amazon, and One Drive, Identify most current photo and/or originals, Decent editor, Ability to download and print selected photos, Access from an app on my phone (Samsung), Not too expensive but larger Gig storage - like 2-5G, Ability to compare pics, side by side, and Ability to see images clearly either list or larger image view. Thank you in advance!
I don't get this. Canto a Company who is providing photo organizing software makes a video about other photo organizing software? Wouldn't that be like Apple comparing their phones with Samsung and Oneplus in a video?
I need a viewer that can search a large data base of images and find photos based on keywords and or star ratings. Will any of these apps do that? if not any suggestion?.
Hi G D, thanks for watching! Canto’s duplicate check identifies true duplicates that can be discarded and prevents them from accidentally deleting similar, but unique, images. That being said, most of the software mentioned in our video offer some kind of duplicate detection. Hope that helps!
10 yrs ago i used a free download of Thumbsplus from Cerious. Was a poor student so used to reinstall every time i exceeded trial period. Thinking about buying it now but also looking to aee what else can do the job. My need now is to merge pics and vids from about 6 old drives and move to a NAS while eliminating duplicates. Thumbs+ used to be great at indexing and doing comparisons of folders. Its website makes it look amateur but it looks like they've added features and it was powerful 10 yrs ago. Looking for competitor programs before i plunk down $60 or $120. Im suspect of Canto since they dont disclose pricing and moat of the comparisons here are with image editors.
Labeling/Text ON the photo. I need a photo editor application that will allow me to write on multiple pictures at the same time. Why? I have 15 thousand photos that I am organizing and don’t have the time to be labeling them one by one. The organizing is mostly done already. Want multiple labeling capability. Among the photos there are trips to Europe in which we visited multiple cities. Want to be able to label the photos taken by location. I already have the photos in the right year and the right month, just want to be able to label them by location within the month I took the picture, following the sequence of the itinerary. I don’t need photo enhancing features for now. That can come later. Just want to be able to place text on the photo that describe the date, location and persons in the photo. While I have the information on the photo file, if I am presenting the photo in a slide show the viewer cannot see the information. Most photos have been scanned. Cannot use properties to manipulate them. Ten years from now (when we are gone), our children are not going to know where and when the picture was taken, and in some cases, who is in the picture. Any suggestions?

What window program you recommend if I need to store before and after photos of patients filed with their name and date of birth?

Not everyone has the budget for Canto

I wish there were a desktop app for Windows 10 to allow searching folders located in the hard drive.
