    I have been using a few Helix scopes for a while and think they are outstanding compared to other scopes I have used, but I just started using a Titan scope on my FX Wildcat BT Sniper and I am even more impressed!

    Can you do a video on your SIG range finder, kestrel and element scope working together? When you setup a 100 yard shot, walk through your ballistic calculation and translate to clicks you dial into element scope.

    I have a helix 6-24x50 ffp mrad scope. On elevation turret I can adjust the elevation to 42 clicks only it doesn’t go beyond that is this normal? . Or there any adjustment I can make it to adjust more than that?. I am using clicks for adjusting the elevation for my shooting.

    • @michedmck
      @michedmck ปีที่แล้ว

      This is where the parallax adjustment comes in. The numbers on the (left hand) dial are just indications to bring you into the general area. Let's say you're shooting at 30m. Set the parallax for 30m, but then move your head side-to-side or back and forth, whilst adjusting the parallax. Once it's right, you should have a clear, undistorted view of the reticle. Hope this helps!

  • @MrRockstar1968
    @MrRockstar1968 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I'm still struggling on which scope to buy? I think it's a shame the Titan doesn't have a parallax starting at 10 yards as I like the fact it has 5-25x MAGNIFICATION RANGE, 34mm TUBE DIAMETER, 56mm OBJECTIVE LENS DIAMETER, 23.2 MRAD ELEVATION and WINDAGE, compared to the NEXUS - 5-20x, 30mm, 50mm, 14.5 MRAD WINDAGE. If only the TITAN parallax began at 10 yards then I probably would have bought one by now. Though also after recently watching footage of a long range shooter explaining how they find SFP preferable due to the FFP crosshair starting off too thin at short range and ending up too thick at long range, they prefer the SFP. So I'm not in two minds between the HELIX and the NEXUS.

    • @ElementOptics
      @ElementOptics  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They are both great scopes. I don’t think you will be disappointed with the Helix if you want a SFP scope. Total turret travel is less, but value for money is brilliant.

    • @MrRockstar1968
      @MrRockstar1968 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@seanhammond4527 Between the Nikko Stirling long range diamond 6-24x and the Element Titan 5-25x there isn't much difference in the field of view. A few differences that do stand out is that the Element Titan is considerably heavier weighing 1105gr, where as the Nikko Stirling is 788gr, that's 318gr difference. Also the Element Titan only has a parallax down to 15 yards yet the Nikko Stirling has a parallax down to to 10 yard. The Element Titan doesn't have the option of a parallax wheel as Element do not manufacture or supply and yet Nikko Stirling do have the option of a parallax wheel. The Element Titan is also a 34mm tube which has less option of scope mounts, where the Nikko Stirling has a 30mm tube with a broader range of scope mount choice. The Element Titan is also a First Focal Plane scope though the Nikko Stirling Long Range seems to be a Second Focal Plane scope from what I can find and would make sense given Nikko Stirling manufacture both the Nikko Stirling Long Range Diamond and the Nikko Stirling Diamond FFP. So depends on whether you want a FFP or SFP scope and also depending on all the other factors I've mentioned. The Nikko Stirling Diamond FFP 6-24x50 which is the first focal plane, this scope has a smaller filed of view which is about 3 to 4 feet less field of view than both the Nikko Stirling Long Range and the Element Titan. There is also the factor that the Nikko Stirling Long Range Diamond is considerably less expensive than the Element Titan by about a third of the price less, and the Nikko Stirling Diamond FFP is about half the price of the Element Titan. Hope this is of some help.

    I’ve just fitted the helix to my impact, am sub12 lbs. my concern is I’m near the bottom of my elevation at 27 yard zeroing. I was planning to use the turrets instead on the reticle out at long distances. So do I shim the scope or so I no limit mounts. I’m pissed off because I just spent £100 on mounts.

    • @ElementOptics
      @ElementOptics  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is unfortunately one of the downsides to shooting with a gun like the Impact with a close zero and a scope that is pretty high above the bore. It is a very common problem with PCPs - The only way around it is to use tilted mounts or a 34mm tube scope. FX is working on this by introducing 20 MOA pic rails to many of their models.
