Also in the last portion of the video you clearly see what the original drum sounds like and that it is clearly not what you hear throughout the rest of the video

Infant Annihilator is not a live band. They are open about being a studio only band. It's why they don't tour, and why the band is only 3 members despite having at least 5 instrument tracks on every song. They program their drums. They are open about programming their drums. The playthrough was to show that all of the parts are theoretically possible to play. Aaron comes up with a part, tries it on an e-kit to make sure it's a part that someone could play, and then slaps it into a DAW and quantizes it. If it was literally impossible to play, it would sound silly on a track. The whole point of the band is to push stuff as far as it can go in the genre as a parody in every aspect. He did not do this playthrough in one shot. They show it at the end of the video where there are multiple jump cuts of him messing up various parts. It is played, shot, and cut to show a continuous playthrough over the course of those takes. They were about as open as they could be in the video by showing outtakes. The video is a proof of concept, not a showcase of Aaron's abilities as a drummer. If you want to see his live, single-take drumming, listen to Black Tongue. I understand that some people who play drums might be frustrated by seeing people hold this playthrough in such high regard because they think it's live and that he's perfect but that's just a misinterpretation on their part and I don't begrudge anyone for things they don't know. Aaron is still an incredibly talented drummer. This video just unintentionally did a very good job of fooling anyone who isn't in the loop about what this band does into thinking that he's some inhuman machine, and frankly I can't fault either the band, nor the uninitiated viewers for that. As someone who knows damn well that it's cut together, and that Aaron doesn't play it live, I just think it's a fun and cool proof of concept for the composition. Nothing more, nothing less. And I think that's a reasonable take for anyone to have about it.

Ok, let's consider a few things: 1. This is NOT a live playthru. Aaron is just playing to a playback to the song. 2. The video was likely shot on a phone cam from many years ago. The framerate is not enough to compensate for how fast he's playing. 3. As this is the studio audio, it's likely the drums were triggered or an e-kit was used. The band admits that they do use a few mixing tricks on the drums in studio. 4. IA is a studio-only band. This is why you will never see them live. 5. Mics. As this is just a video, they likely just set up the kit and recorded the video. 6. Sir, you are just looking for reasons to call fake and hate on the video. Just enjoy the product and hate less. You'll be glad you did!
Firstly I will premise this comment with this: I recognize your username from 66Samus' Streams. I see you on there a lot and always enjoy your song suggestions, my Username is DystrictDrummer999, I'm sure you've probably heard a few songs I've requested. You're a Good man, and I respect you as a fellow fan on Samus. Oh Yurrr. Now onto my response: You make valid points, and yes I did make the pre-emptive statement that I do not like the band. I'm sure there are bands you cannot stand and don't like listening to as well. While yes, I understand that This band takes nothing seriously, it needs to be noted that a lot of beginning drummers, myself included, believe(d) this is (was) Possible, when it's not. Much like in the Body-building industry, people claim a Fake Natty status, or never confirm nor deny their Steroid usage, in order to build clout, and it can cause someone people to get hurt along the way. The way I see it, I would have loved to have had someone give it to me straight that sounding like this is impossible without faking some things, but I never had that chance, and I did end up suffering injury trying to sound like Aaron and suffering severe setbacks because of this. So now it is my time to be that chance for someone else who may be mentally or physically struggling with their own abilities like I was. It's nothing personal against Aaron, it's coming from my own experiences trying to sound like something that isn't possible.

From a drummer of 30 years who doesnt know this song or this drummer, this dude absolutely nailed this cover. Hes not mic'd and the drums we hear are from the recording, but goddamn, he nailed every stroke. That breakdown of 16th note double bass to 32nd notes prior to that one handed snare roll were insane and i saw every stroke in the foot cam. No idea what this guys ranting about. In fact, i closed this vid and went to that drum cover video to watch it again without all these pauses.
If you are a Drummer of 30 years and have Absolutely 0 idea how the Physics and Anatomy of the human body works when it comes to drumming, then you wasted 30 years. Plain and simple. Slowing down the video will show you that he is sloppy and not accurate. The kit was not Mic-ed up, there were no triggers or interfaces, and the audio 100% matches the Studio version of the song, which means it was a Drum Machine with all the dynamics turned up to 127, with a Mimed along performance to make it seem believable. So yes, it was definately faked and I do not think Aaron can play this cleanly at all. I kind of gave my opinion away with the thumbnail, so you can't exactly be mad that I made it clear that I am not a fan of them. Also, From all that is presently available online of the members as people, no, they do not have a strong set of morals. I am a Devout Christian, and do not their choice of lyrical material or their life choices as musicians. While they may be talented musicians and composers, that will not budge my Moral standard I have set for myself. Behaviour speaks a lot louder than words. Sorry that the video wasn't your cup of tea, but I gave an honest review that Is based in truth and presentable facts. Debatable. There is a lot more to being an accomplished musician than being successful. While yes, music this ridiculous and outlandish can be entertaining, it's the false perception of reality they give to many new drummers that this is anywhere within the realm of possibility that made me want to make this video.

The one thing I remember about the song Cuntcrusher is the groovy segment like 2 min into the song. It's pretty obvious a bunch of their stuff is programmed but I never looked at it as controversial due to the satirical nature of the band. Of all the things to worry about this is not one of them.

He's not burying the beater. He rests the beaters on the head at the END of a burst. This is how you stop a fast burst, and is also how you prepare for the following strokes.
Infant annihilator is very much a satire type deal about seeing how extreme you can go in extreme metal, their subject matter is poking fun at how you need to have brutal lyrics in brutal music. Also, Kitcher plays in the band Black Tongue aswell, and that band did actually do shows and tours while infant annihilator is a studio side project. Hope this helps
The band Malodorous is doing this too, but they're absolutely sick, is supposed to be a parody in a way but turns out sounding absolutely crazy. So much so that they ended up coming back after high demand just recently after like 15 years

Watching this video you could get the impression that there are no real drum videos of this guy on the internet. It took me 5 minutes to confirm that this drummer is probably one of the fastest out there and btw. his technique is perfect. Some covers of him are 10 years old and he absolutely rips them. This kid could have been the best metal drummer at that time and I just heard of him just now. Shame.

That's not a Well Known Secret. I've been part of Backstage crews and I have worked as a Drum Tech before. There are definately bands who rely on a Laptop for their entire performance, it's disheartening.
In the playthrough video the drums are from studio version ok but doesn't mean Aaron isn't able to play like that for real. You never see them live because it's a studio only band, an internet project and nothing more. Actually there is a video of Aaron playing it live on a 5 piece drum kit, just search "Aaron Kitcher playing Cuntcrusher @ MONSTERS OF ROCK 2013".

The band has both admitted to using programmed drums, as well as programming drum parts that are intentionally incredibly difficult or impossible for their drummer to play. So, sure, the playthrough is not live, but the band already told us that their drummer is asked to play parts that they know almost no one can play. 🤷

@@komradenikolai There's nothing fake about it. It's no different to any music video where no-one is actually playing the instruments. They're not trying to dupe anyone into believing this is live audio - they didn't even bother putting mics on the kit.
There are some videos of him playing an unplugged e kit with phone audio on TH-cam along the lines of “black Tounge guitar and drum @ the Robert305” or something which prove he’s not faking a lot of this. On top of that it’s 9 years old and I’m sure he’s gotten a lot faster in the past decade. He also admits to quantizying his drums which I count as cheating but 90% of drummers playing over 250 bpm quantisize their drums and no one says anything
I would say 90% is a bit of an exaggeration. The amount of musicians who do use Quantization has increased more exponentially over the past few years but to say it's 90% is a stretch. What he is admiting to is going in and Editing his performances to make it sound better than it actually is. Ultimately that is cheating, therefore my point still stands. I have no doubts he is a good drummer, but i question his abilities a bit when i see videos like this.

The sound we hear is the album sound. That's why there are no Mics or Triggers on the Drumkit. We all can be sure it's not a one-take, but they never claimed it was. it's no fake to me.
The fact that he hasn’t played a live show speaks volumes. I’ve been playing drums and guitars since I was like 10, I’m 53 now. Even tho I’ve only been in quite a few top bands in a demographic area, I’ve practiced with the likes of Tommy Lee, Peter Criss, and Jason Bonham. One of the questions that always arises is “who’s the best drummer” blah blah blah. The thing that was common in those discussions, was it depends on which type of drummer you’re talking about. You can be a good recording studio drummer, yet not be a good live performer. When talking among professional drummers that I’ve met about the top drummers, the conversation always goes towards live performances. As technology evolves if you know somewhat about playing drums, you could make it seem like you’re one of the best drummers in the world in a video. It may take you weeks to put out a 5 minute video bcuz of all the options that can be done in the editing. You can make 50 different videos, just to make it seem like it was just one video. That’s something that you can’t replicate in a live performance. Idk if it’s just my experiences, people I know personally, or whatever, but it’s common sense to me that a drummer who nobody has heard live to be a top or fastest ANYTHING. The saying goes that you can’t believe anything you see, and only half of what you hear, unless you see and hear it with your own eyes!! He may be this good and fast, but I can’t logically think that for the fact he’s never played live. The “I just don’t like playing live” or “I’d just rather record my music” should be a red flag. Part of wanting to play drums in front of people is why become drummers in the first place, bcuz a drummer feeds off the crowd and vice versa. When I hear musicians say I don’t like playing live, my common sense tells me “that’s bcuz you really aren’t a musician”. Before the crying or hating comments start diarrhea of the mouth, or the jealousy remarks, ask yourself if you’ve ever been jealous or upset by something that you don’t know is real to begin with?
This is one of the only songs Aaron can actually perform. Although they say they only make music they can play I doubt Aaron can play soil the stillborn all the way through. But, he is a good drummer and is in a very good band called black tongue that doesn’t render their drums.
Every hate video I see on this band makes me love them even more. 😂 The fact that this video is still being brought up or the band is still being discussed says plenty on the impact they had on metal. I see this video as what every core kid wanted to be after listening to suicide silence or whitechapel. But also you have to put in mind that aaron never claimed that he played this in it's entirety.
1. Drum Programming: They program their drums, it's no secret 2. THE SOUND: At the end of his drumming video, you can hear how the drumset REALLY sounds that we see in the video. means he doesn't even hide the fact that we hear the album audio 3. Drum Skills: In other, unedited videos, it's clear he's a phenomenal drummer especially on E-Drums (Which work only via triggers) means he's probably more used to triggers than acoustic 4. As other commentators stated, the video is ment to show off that every part in the song is theoreticly possible to play.

That would work except each cymbal hit sounds programmed on the original song. When you slow it down to half speed, it still registers as a Sample and sounds clean, if it was a Raw recording it would sound bad

Infant Annihilator is not a live band. They are open about being a studio only band. It's why they don't tour, and why the band is only 3 members despite having at least 5 instrument tracks on every song.
They program their drums. They are open about programming their drums.
The playthrough was to show that all of the parts are theoretically possible to play.
Aaron comes up with a part, tries it on an e-kit to make sure it's a part that someone could play, and then slaps it into a DAW and quantizes it. If it was literally impossible to play, it would sound silly on a track.
The whole point of the band is to push stuff as far as it can go in the genre as a parody in every aspect.
He did not do this playthrough in one shot. They show it at the end of the video where there are multiple jump cuts of him messing up various parts. It is played, shot, and cut to show a continuous playthrough over the course of those takes. They were about as open as they could be in the video by showing outtakes.
The video is a proof of concept, not a showcase of Aaron's abilities as a drummer. If you want to see his live, single-take drumming, listen to Black Tongue.
I understand that some people who play drums might be frustrated by seeing people hold this playthrough in such high regard because they think it's live and that he's perfect but that's just a misinterpretation on their part and I don't begrudge anyone for things they don't know.
Aaron is still an incredibly talented drummer.
This video just unintentionally did a very good job of fooling anyone who isn't in the loop about what this band does into thinking that he's some inhuman machine, and frankly I can't fault either the band, nor the uninitiated viewers for that.
As someone who knows damn well that it's cut together, and that Aaron doesn't play it live, I just think it's a fun and cool proof of concept for the composition. Nothing more, nothing less. And I think that's a reasonable take for anyone to have about it.

Ok, let's consider a few things:
1. This is NOT a live playthru. Aaron is just playing to a playback to the song.
2. The video was likely shot on a phone cam from many years ago. The framerate is not enough to compensate for how fast he's playing.
3. As this is the studio audio, it's likely the drums were triggered or an e-kit was used. The band admits that they do use a few mixing tricks on the drums in studio.
4. IA is a studio-only band. This is why you will never see them live.
5. Mics. As this is just a video, they likely just set up the kit and recorded the video.
6. Sir, you are just looking for reasons to call fake and hate on the video. Just enjoy the product and hate less. You'll be glad you did!

Now onto my response:
You make valid points, and yes I did make the pre-emptive statement that I do not like the band. I'm sure there are bands you cannot stand and don't like listening to as well. While yes, I understand that This band takes nothing seriously, it needs to be noted that a lot of beginning drummers, myself included, believe(d) this is (was) Possible, when it's not. Much like in the Body-building industry, people claim a Fake Natty status, or never confirm nor deny their Steroid usage, in order to build clout, and it can cause someone people to get hurt along the way. The way I see it, I would have loved to have had someone give it to me straight that sounding like this is impossible without faking some things, but I never had that chance, and I did end up suffering injury trying to sound like Aaron and suffering severe setbacks because of this. So now it is my time to be that chance for someone else who may be mentally or physically struggling with their own abilities like I was. It's nothing personal against Aaron, it's coming from my own experiences trying to sound like something that isn't possible.

From a drummer of 30 years who doesnt know this song or this drummer, this dude absolutely nailed this cover. Hes not mic'd and the drums we hear are from the recording, but goddamn, he nailed every stroke. That breakdown of 16th note double bass to 32nd notes prior to that one handed snare roll were insane and i saw every stroke in the foot cam. No idea what this guys ranting about. In fact, i closed this vid and went to that drum cover video to watch it again without all these pauses.

The fact of the matter is he cannot play this cleanly live. Slowing down the video will show you that he is sloppy and not accurate. The kit was not Mic-ed up, there were no triggers or interfaces, and the audio 100% matches the Studio version of the song, which means it was a Drum Machine with all the dynamics turned up to 127, with a Mimed along performance to make it seem believable. So yes, it was definately faked and I do not think Aaron can play this cleanly at all. I kind of gave my opinion away with the thumbnail, so you can't exactly be mad that I made it clear that I am not a fan of them.
Also, From all that is presently available online of the members as people, no, they do not have a strong set of morals. I am a Devout Christian, and do not their choice of lyrical material or their life choices as musicians. While they may be talented musicians and composers, that will not budge my Moral standard I have set for myself. Behaviour speaks a lot louder than words.

Infant annihilator is very much a satire type deal about seeing how extreme you can go in extreme metal, their subject matter is poking fun at how you need to have brutal lyrics in brutal music. Also, Kitcher plays in the band Black Tongue aswell, and that band did actually do shows and tours while infant annihilator is a studio side project. Hope this helps
The band Malodorous is doing this too, but they're absolutely sick, is supposed to be a parody in a way but turns out sounding absolutely crazy. So much so that they ended up coming back after high demand just recently after like 15 years
So anyways, there’s a video of Aaron playing this live at tagima / nagamo. Not to mention, if you watch enough of Aaron you’ll understand he’s absolutely capable of playing this.
Watching this video you could get the impression that there are no real drum videos of this guy on the internet. It took me 5 minutes to confirm that this drummer is probably one of the fastest out there and btw. his technique is perfect. Some covers of him are 10 years old and he absolutely rips them. This kid could have been the best metal drummer at that time and I just heard of him just now. Shame.
I mean if you listen, I said I have no doubts that he is a good Drummer and can probably pull off the song, maybe not cleanly, but he could probably do it. My issue is the fact that it was Shamelessly faked and people think it's legit when it's not.

In the playthrough video the drums are from studio version ok but doesn't mean Aaron isn't able to play like that for real. You never see them live because it's a studio only band, an internet project and nothing more. Actually there is a video of Aaron playing it live on a 5 piece drum kit, just search "Aaron Kitcher playing Cuntcrusher @ MONSTERS OF ROCK 2013".

Black tongue is a totally different project. Way slower by comparison.
The band has both admitted to using programmed drums, as well as programming drum parts that are intentionally incredibly difficult or impossible for their drummer to play.
So, sure, the playthrough is not live, but the band already told us that their drummer is asked to play parts that they know almost no one can play.

There are some videos of him playing an unplugged e kit with phone audio on TH-cam along the lines of “black Tounge guitar and drum @ the Robert305” or something which prove he’s not faking a lot of this. On top of that it’s 9 years old and I’m sure he’s gotten a lot faster in the past decade. He also admits to quantizying his drums which I count as cheating but 90% of drummers playing over 250 bpm quantisize their drums and no one says anything
I would say 90% is a bit of an exaggeration. The amount of musicians who do use Quantization has increased more exponentially over the past few years but to say it's 90% is a stretch. What he is admiting to is going in and Editing his performances to make it sound better than it actually is. Ultimately that is cheating, therefore my point still stands. I have no doubts he is a good drummer, but i question his abilities a bit when i see videos like this.

The fact that he hasn’t played a live show speaks volumes. I’ve been playing drums and guitars since I was like 10, I’m 53 now. Even tho I’ve only been in quite a few top bands in a demographic area, I’ve practiced with the likes of Tommy Lee, Peter Criss, and Jason Bonham. One of the questions that always arises is “who’s the best drummer” blah blah blah. The thing that was common in those discussions, was it depends on which type of drummer you’re talking about. You can be a good recording studio drummer, yet not be a good live performer. When talking among professional drummers that I’ve met about the top drummers, the conversation always goes towards live performances. As technology evolves if you know somewhat about playing drums, you could make it seem like you’re one of the best drummers in the world in a video. It may take you weeks to put out a 5 minute video bcuz of all the options that can be done in the editing. You can make 50 different videos, just to make it seem like it was just one video. That’s something that you can’t replicate in a live performance. Idk if it’s just my experiences, people I know personally, or whatever, but it’s common sense to me that a drummer who nobody has heard live to be a top or fastest ANYTHING. The saying goes that you can’t believe anything you see, and only half of what you hear, unless you see and hear it with your own eyes!! He may be this good and fast, but I can’t logically think that for the fact he’s never played live. The “I just don’t like playing live” or “I’d just rather record my music” should be a red flag. Part of wanting to play drums in front of people is why become drummers in the first place, bcuz a drummer feeds off the crowd and vice versa. When I hear musicians say I don’t like playing live, my common sense tells me “that’s bcuz you really aren’t a musician”. Before the crying or hating comments start diarrhea of the mouth, or the jealousy remarks, ask yourself if you’ve ever been jealous or upset by something that you don’t know is real to begin with?
This is one of the only songs Aaron can actually perform. Although they say they only make music they can play I doubt Aaron can play soil the stillborn all the way through. But, he is a good drummer and is in a very good band called black tongue that doesn’t render their drums.

2. THE SOUND: At the end of his drumming video, you can hear how the drumset REALLY sounds that we see in the video. means he doesn't even hide the fact that we hear the album audio
3. Drum Skills: In other, unedited videos, it's clear he's a phenomenal drummer especially on E-Drums (Which work only via triggers) means he's probably more used to triggers than acoustic
4. As other commentators stated, the video is ment to show off that every part in the song is theoreticly possible to play.

you kept mentioning how he doesn't have triggers but everything sounds triggered. that's because the studio recording was absolutely done with triggers. i'm fairly confident the drums are NOT programmed. aaron definitely can play this song and wrote the parts. the playthrough is in fact not live in any way whatsoever, but he also didn't claim it was. i understand why drummers get annoyed with this video, but there are WAY more egregious examples of youtube drumming that's fake/sampled/dishonest/misleading.
That would work except each cymbal hit sounds programmed on the original song. When you slow it down to half speed, it still registers as a Sample and sounds clean, if it was a Raw recording it would sound bad
