Thanks a lot for the review. I was finding it difficult to decide what phone I should buy and ended up getting the G2 after watching a number of your reviews. I've had it for just over a month and am really enjoying it! :) Very comfortable and easy to use phone.
your reviews are exceedingly informative while also being unique, interesting and refreshingly subtle. It's also nice to see such informative and tech savvy reviews from someone who is not a twenty something or younger kid.
Just got this phone 2 days ago love it . I get about 15-18 hrs of battery life for my usage. Screen brightness at 40% I up it to 55 when outdoors and its sunny. I usually root my phones but found this phone very fast even though there's some bloatware. Those of u with bad battery life few things that eat your battery- bad reception will drain your battery quick . 2-having screen brightness all the way up fix lower brightness . 3-A rogue app that's not making your phone go into deep sleep fix factory reset install apps 1 or 2 at a time use it for a day or 2 install other apps till u find battery drainer. 4-if your always checking the time on your phone very 5min will eat your battery fix don't check every 5min . When I first got the phone I charged it to 100 % played games 5hrs straight and was left with 40% battery life love it
You have the magic touch on everything. You make me wanna buy them all! Great views and really my favorite channel on TH-cam ever. I'm a big fan of yours by the way.
The G2 has an interesting voice zoom feature that tries to follow your intended speaker's voice when recording video. So far it's effective. Beyond that, I'd say they both do a pretty good job of audio recording.
Really good review; articulate, intelligent and convincing. It helped me decide to get this excellent phone. With the Poweramp app and my Sound Magic ear buds I get great audio and I'm really pleased with the LG G2.
I really don't know why Verizon wanted to mess with the G2's design. We'll ve doing a review of the Verizon version of the LG G2 as well, where we'll focus mostly on the differences.
Always love your in-depth reviews, thanks Lisa! I'm still tossing up between the LG G2 and the Note 3. I want/like a removable battery, so it'll probably be the Note 3 for me. I go on long cycling trips (sometimes for days) and rely on GPS (which chews juice). Being able to swap out the battery as and when needed is a must for me.
Thanks for a great review. After agonizing, I went and signed up for the Moto X on Verizon today. It just felt right in my hand, and I'm happy getting something closer to a vanilla Android experience. I also own an Ipad Mini which I use for reading and web surfing when I'm out, otherwise I might have wanted something larger.
Absolutely the best review I have ever seen on TH-cam can't wait for this phone to come out here in Canada absolutely this is the best phone in the market PERIOD
I eventually bought the g2 and wow! It's replaced my trusty HTC one due to the screen, battery life and amazingly intuitive buttons on the back. The HTC one has better audio but these two are the best android phones I've used, easily.
It would be great to get a good in depth comparison of this phone and the other major flagship phones out there right now, including the note 3 when possible. I haven't been able to find any reviews going any further than "first look" so that comparison would be very helpful. I always check your page first for the best in depth reviews.
I think it has something to do with the device size and the way we tend to hold a bigger phone (the bottom hits the palm of the hand which can muffle the speaker). With the iPhone my hand doesn't cover the bottom of the phone.
GREAT review Lisa, you covered ALOT of features on this baby ! Im getting rid of my SMALL screen iphone4, & get tis baby ! Amazon has this for $ 79.00 with a 3 year contract thru AT&T.
Bought it Thursday. Love it, but strangely still posting this from my note 2. The note 2 is just awesome. Will probably keep the G2, but only for double tap to wake.
Lisa, I love your reviews- indepth but to the point. I just got my hands on the Verizon version of this phone. Verizon screwed the design of those volume controls by making them smaller- plus, they removed the hump that helps distinguish between volume up/power/ volume down. I keep turning the phone off when I try to adjust the volume. Plus, Verizon deleted the rear facing Mic. Good thing you reviewing the AT&T version.
Great review as always!! I don't like the Samsung, LG Glossy plastics either but I think they don't pay much attention because a lot of people are going to buy a case anyway... Great phone but I wish the exterior would have been something more aluminum like. Can't wait for the Galaxy Note 3 review!! Oh, are you panning to review the LG G pad as well?
Lisa i have this phone for 9 days now. This is my short review. I agree with everything you have said. The screen is brighter than Samsung, the pictures are great, better than my iphone 5. The battery lasts me all day everyday. I havent heard that from Samsung owners and since my iphone 5 got IO7, it wont last all day anymore. The back buttons you get used to. My only complaint so far has been the front facing camera, the pictures are way too soft, softer than HTC, Samsung and Moto.
very detailed review... this really helped me making up my mind... was thinking between this LG G2 or to wait till the Nexus 5 comes out... but after seeing this review I think I'll go with the LG, even though it's older and more expensive :)
I returned my HTC one for a G2 after 2 days of use. The G2 is in my opinion the best phone to date. Sure it's plasticity but you don't notice it with a body glove phone case.
Very nice, professional review. After hearing/watching some of the young crowd, your review sounds like I am back in college, and one my favorite professors teaching my favorite course. Also you are pretty positive most of the time, which is good. When playing games, can we turn the on-screen button strip black? Or find a way to hide it completely until the area is tapped like the lights on hardware buttons turning off? Also did you use this phone for a while, have you had touchscreen issues?
A fantastic review Lisa, thanks! The phone is really impressive, and if I wasn't totally in love with the Galaxy Note 3, it would be a tough choice between this phone and the S4.
literally its an upgraded and improved version of my LG optimus F7...very similar features with added bonuses ..the increase from 4.7 to 5.2 screen size to name one is MOS DEF a plus :) will surely be getting this bad boy
Onscreen Volume Controls are always better in widescreen mode. I wouldn't have any issues with that. Usually it's a lot easier to turn the volume up on the screen then having to press a lot of phones volume buttons multiple times until the buttons wear out.
I remember when the S3 came out and I thought it was a revolution, but the S4 wasn't, and many others, but this phone is what really defines what comes now D: this is the revolution I've been waiting for. That doesn't mean I'm getting it (I wish I could), but I'm very happy for what handsets are capable now!
Great review. Really helpful I'm due an upgrade and I'm completely torn right now between the S4, G2 and Z1. The G2 probably is slightly ahead right now, but wow we are spoiled for choice right now.
The LG G2 is faster than the G Pro, but honestly they're both really fast. Beyond that it's largely a difference between 0.3" screen size and the removable battery on the G Pro.
Thanks for the in deep review Lisa, great phone, LG just make a very good looking phone. And i think that is the right way for the future, no more capacitive buttons or physical home button. C'mon people, it's a quadcore 2.26 GHz Krait 400 and the screen is 424 ppi pixel density + 3000 mAh battery. I like android, I'm a fan of android not a blind fan of some phone maker.
First thing I noticed during this review is Never Winter Nights 2 PC retail box in the background! Loved the first game, second was OK. Anyway Thanks for the great review.
Great review as usual. Wish it had removable battery and SD card expansion. You were soft on the speaker. Most reviewers thought it was weak to terrible for a 2013 smart phone...
I had an Optimus G I just sold, absolutely loved it, and said my next phone would be the G2. But then the Note 3 was launched and it just managed to be that bit more appealing....so it's pre ordered and paid for outright already. But damn does this beast still look incredible, could not go wrong with either...we are spoilt at the moment people.
LOL she called 1900kbps a bad result... Lisa when I was using Sprint I would have done backflips for that kind of speed. Nice review! And thank you for covering the speakers. Most reviewers fail to mention the speakers.
Hi GREAT review. Just two things, the game you played last wiith a gun, what is the game again? Also I had tried samsung, htc and now sony. One thing I love and miss on HTC is they have it default were you can choose when your USB is connected on your PC, called USB tethering, were you can use your PC's internet to your phone via USB. Does this phone have it? Please PM me your answer.
This is a great review Lisa and one which has convinced me to buy this FABULOUS full-featured gunner of a phone :) Thankyou for the long and detailed review...made it just that more personal and fun to watch. I'd like to ask you whether you thought the exclusion of an SD slot was a significant factor in the success of the phone. Do you think people will be put off by it? In addition to this, do you think the 16gb model is enough for the general user? --Isoleaf
I don't think it is LG's fault. I said the same thing on another tech blog and they immediately said "we can skin it, we can use different launchers, we can modify icons, we load icon pack, etc.." but the bottom line is the stock android icons (looking at Nexus 5 you can easily spot these things) the icons are all over the place, all of them have different sizes, some of them are just 3d shapes, really weird, Google needs to uniform those. At least with LG, single tap allow you to change icons!
I got the G2 switching from a nexus 4. I disabled a lot of features, but I really do like the software after you get all the unnecessary stuff out of the way. I actually won't be rooting, at least for a while.
I don't know if this has been stated in any of your reviews about LG phones that have QSlide. One of the interesting features of QSlide is when using the apps and slightly dropping the transparency, any icons or features under the floated QSlide app can be touched and operated without the need to move the floated app to a different portion of the screen.
When I watch a video in landscape my left hand is naturally gripping the phone where the volume keys are on this one, so I wouldn't have any problems adjusting the volume with the G2.
This is my next phone for the next three years for one reason and ONLY one reason: BEST SCREEN EVER!!! (Of course there's the big battery, OIS in 13MP camera, good enough storage though I wish for 64GB, Snapdragon 800). Lisa you forgot to mention LG G2's support for 24 bit/192kHz Hi-Fi playback that reproduces CD-like quality sound.
Carriers don't have anything to do with size of the G2 display, do they? I was reading the book that came with it, and in the Web Browsing section, it says to enjoy the 4.5" display. Maybe it was a typo.
Never before would I recommend to other people to buy an LG phone, until this one. I mean if there was a google play edition of this phone and I actually had money, I would definitely get one. That screen is amazing.
I just got this phone last night. I have had Iphone 2g 3g 3gs and 4s. I tried S4 hated it to slow with lag HTC one it was ok but not for me and the lg optimus g pro and loved it lost story why I no longer have it. So far I LOVE the G2 can't put it down. I will not be returning this.
Hi ! Had a question. From a normal day to day usage point of view, and for a person like me who doesn't care much for processor speed rather general smoothness and interface, would you recommend me this phone, or the iPhone 5s?
Thanks a lot for the review. I was finding it difficult to decide what phone I should buy and ended up getting the G2 after watching a number of your reviews. I've had it for just over a month and am really enjoying it! :) Very comfortable and easy to use phone.
Most in-depth review of the G2 I've seen. So many features I had no idea existed. Now just to choose between this and the Nexus 5. Thanks Lisa!
your reviews are exceedingly informative while also being unique, interesting and refreshingly subtle. It's also nice to see such informative and tech savvy reviews from someone who is not a twenty something or younger kid.
I love that your reviews are never half-assed . They're really extensive
Just got this phone 2 days ago love it . I get about 15-18 hrs of battery life for my usage. Screen brightness at 40% I up it to 55 when outdoors and its sunny. I love your reviews Lisa, I always watch your reviews before I buy anything! Thank you !
We have the ATIV S Neo in house and it's in the queue for review next week.
You have the magic touch on everything. You make me wanna buy them all! Great views and really my favorite channel on TH-cam ever. I'm a big fan of yours by the way.

Really good review; articulate, intelligent and convincing. It helped me decide to get this excellent phone. With the Poweramp app and my Sound Magic ear buds I get great audio and I'm really pleased with the LG G2.
You could also use external battery packs that plug into the micro USB port.
This is the 2nd time i watched your phone review, and I'd like to say that you are remarkable. Absolutely great review
I really don't know why Verizon wanted to mess with the G2's design. We'll ve doing a review of the Verizon version of the LG G2 as well, where we'll focus mostly on the differences.
As always Lisa your reviews are top notch, thank you.
Always love your in-depth reviews, thanks Lisa! I'm still tossing up between the LG G2 and the Note 3. I want/like a removable battery, so it'll probably be the Note 3 for me. So far, the G2 camera is performing a little bit better for still image quality. Really impressed with the camera, actually.
Absolutely the best review I have ever seen on TH-cam can't wait for this phone to come out here in Canada absolutely this is the best phone in the market PERIOD

I like Lisa Gade, she doesn't overdo it and she seems confident with the information she presents. Well done Lisa!
Yes we'll review the Nexus 5, and my daily drivers change every week.

Your reviews are always the best.
That's exactly what I did and I DO NOT regret getting rid of my G4 for the G2. It is soooo awesome. I Love it.
If Lg can add micro sd card ability it would have a lot more fans
Bought it Thursday. Love it, but strangely still posting this from my note 2. The note 2 is just awesome. Will probably keep the G2, but only for double tap to wake.

These reviews are very detailed and comprehensive . really good
I cant wait for your 5s review lisa
Just got this phone and it's been great. Coming from a SIII and the g2 is so much better.
I'm coming from the S3 too...and AM getting this phone in 3 weeks..(can't wait!) Nice to know someone else coming from same phone is very satisfied.
I returned my HTC one for a G2 after 2 days of use. The G2 is in my opinion the best phone to date. Sure it's plasticity but you don't notice it with a body glove phone case.
Lisa! you forgot the wireless storage feature , this is where you can connect this phone to a computer wirelessly how many phones can do that?
Yes. Call Voice recorder. Look under your app section
Very nice, professional review. After hearing/watching some of the young crowd, your review sounds like I am back in college, and one my favorite professors teaching my favorite course. Also you are pretty positive most of the time, which is good.

Really love your in-depth reviews they are the best. I was wondering if it offers a slow motion video. I use this feature a lot on my note 2.
You can shoot photos and video simultaneously. You can't run two different web browsers on the screen at once.
This is why I love your reviews Lisa detail.com awesome review. Would love to see a comparison between the g2 and xperia z1. Thanks
literally its an upgraded and improved version of my LG optimus F7...very similar features with added bonuses ..the increase from 4.7 to 5.2 screen size to name one is MOS DEF a plus :) will surely be getting this bad boy
You can make them black and some times transparent depending on what screen your on
Onscreen Volume Controls are always better in widescreen mode. I wouldn't have any issues with that. Usually it's a lot easier to turn the volume up on the screen then having to press a lot of phones volume buttons multiple times until the buttons wear out.

Got this being delivered tomorrow on O2. Free speaker dock and case too.
Gonna get mine next week upgrading from my iPhone4 I can't wait! Finally I can enjoy hd movies on the go :D
Lisa is the best!! love your reviews ma'm///
Great review. I may pick up this phone for the battery life alone, as someone who works 12+ hours battery life is the most important thing to me.
Great review. Really helpful I'm due an upgrade and I'm completely torn right now between the S4, G2 and Z1. The G2 probably is slightly ahead right now, but wow we are spoiled for choice right now.
Got this phone. Amazing! The screen!
Thank you ..Lisa ..I know its a old video ..I went ahead and order this phone as a replacement ...Thanks again for this great Video.
The LG G2 is faster than the G Pro, but honestly they're both really fast. Beyond that it's largely a difference between 0.3" screen size and the removable battery on the G Pro.
I just bought this super, mega, awesome, incredulous phone!!!I used to have an S III, and this kills it!
Hands down best review I've seen
Gosh, the decision is so hard... you can't go wrong with any of the flagship devices available from every company right now.
Another great review Lisa. Looks like I just found my next phone.
Great review, Lisa. Definitely my next phone after I sell my red S3.
Alright , Thanks That's What I Needed To To Know n Thanks For All Your Lovely Help ;)
Thanks for the in deep review Lisa, great phone, LG just make a very good looking phone. And i think that is the right way for the future, no more capacitive buttons or physical home button.

Superb, comprehensive, and truly informative review. Thank you.
Really love the thin bezels, wish other manufacturers go this route

What are your favorite phones atm, Lisa? Thanks for the video
I'm so getting this one \m/
i love your reviews first choice thank you
I also live in the Dallas area. I love the at&t coverage!
Sold my HTC One for the G2 and looooove it. Best phone ever.

Excellent review. This phone has virtually everything to offer. Shame about the shiny plastic build but overall a brilliant phone
what would you choose?
Mine does not click when I press the back (anywhere).
Smartphone maravilhoso, parabéns!!!
