The metronome thing it's actually something he recorded live on the spot. It was his finger tapping the button. Saro is the god of loopsration. I recommend you also the gbb final from 2017 and the 5th World championship Nme vs Saro. Mb14 is more musical and Saro is more technical and I would say musical in other way. He doesn't sing but he sure does create good songs, his own songs. Both rounds from Mb14 were covers, while the rounds from Saro are his own creation. Another fact about Saro, he is undefeated.

Welcome to the world of modern-day beatboxing!! There’s a ton to unpack here. So, with a Loopstation, you are allowed to use effects and stuff in your loops; so long as they’re activated using your voice. Saro uses these effects insanely well. It’s insane. MB14 on the other hand, rarely uses any effects at all. He’s one of the few and best at this style - it’s crazy
100% recommend more. Loopstation (this battle in particular) is really good for starting out, since Loopstation has a lot of musicality to it. Plus, MB14 really shows the basics to a loopstation.

The people that judge beatbox competitions are always high level beatboxers themselves as far as I know.
Loved this video, you guys have an amazing vibe. I'm sure someone already pointed this out but Saro is the loopstation goat, dude only needed one attempt to win the two biggest beatbox competitions possible. Also worth mentioning is that he's undefeated even in tag team (his partner is mb14, they're called Wolfgang).

Great reaction guys, the time this was filmed loop station battles were very new and knowledge and skill was very basic.
Beatbox and related stuff like loop station started getting very good around 2019 and now days is insane. So might he interesting to see your reaction to some newer stuff.

Great visit to the enormous rabbit hole :-) This particular video has some fun facts: MB14 was the prodigal favorite for winning whole tournament, where Saro was the underdog; As MB14 cites "My loops are still messed up" he refers to issues with his loopstation not working properly, therefore his whole second round was improvised from scratch as he was not able to perform what he planned; you should really have look on their cooperation, MB14 & Saro joining in tagteam; where MB14 is a "traditionalist" with lots of vocals and only minimal usage of any loopstation features and effect, Saro is completely out-of-space creature using all and every possibility loopstation can offer; Saro was born loopstation, loop is his father and station being his mother.
I've watched a few of your reactions and can honestly say you guys are hilarious!
1. Your cousin doesn't miss key things. In quite a few videos, he has pointed out key things that you want a reactor to pick up.
2. The jokes cracked by everyone. Yeah, you're all related for sure, and it shows, lol.
3. I noticed you guys do a lot of music reactions. May I suggest two artists you may like a lot. Sad Night Dynamite: Psychedelic Views or Smoke Hole, these songs by them are awesome. If you guys are interested in a female rapper who can go fast, listen to Queen Herby. 5D and Preroll are two of my favorites by her. I'm sure this will go unseen, but I hope you guys stumble upon these artists at some point. Either way, I wish you guys well, especially the brother in Japan! The guy in the red shirt aka saro effect on some of his not that that takes anything away from what he did and they definitely didn’t use anywhere near as much effect as they do today if you heard something this year and last year you’d be surprised how far this came

MB14 has a much more musical style and uses his voice more while Saro uses the loopstation technique a lot more. It's a matter of preference. For my part, I prefer MB14 and I invite you to see a piece of his composition "pyramid".
In addition, MB14 has created a group called Berywam, they are 4 beatboxers. After a few years, MB14 decided to pursue his solo career and also made a film called Tenor.
But Berywam went on and became famous beyond the beatboxer family. Again, I invite you to watch some videos.

In the loopstation category allows some effects on the vocals, MB14 is more a purist specializing in vocal technique and Saro more a DJ using the loopstation to its fullest. In later years the loopstation category allows more devices and gets further away from vocal beatbox and more like a live music production battle. MB14 La Cup Showcase 2018 that other people suggested is legendary. Also worth checking out solo and other categories if you want more pure vocal beatbox.

Two are French and are friends, this is a competition but MB14 know Saro is a genius in techno music with amazing skills he is juste an amazing DJ in his own person but to be honest MB14 is clearly better in beetbox and vocals skills this is two différent type of music it’s difficult too judge them
MB14 is a beast, this round was his worst performance. It was one of Saros best though. I would recommend reacting to 2023 GBB Avh vs Matej. It is absolutely crazy how far the beatboxers have progressed since 2017

Also in terms of other Saro battles, I don’t think there are any closer ones because he raised the level a lot when he showed up. There’s closer battles in later years between different competitors though.

Alright, to start, this'll be a doozy of a comment, but I wish someone would have told me this kind of stuff when I first got into beatbox. So... fair warning lol
Ok, so first off, I LOVE beatboxing. I really got into it in early 2021 because of the Sidemen Talent Show, which featured two famous beatboxers D-Low and Frosty, which I recommend watching this section of that video at some point IF you know things about the Sidemen. Its hilarious and, on the beatbox side of things, really nice to listen to.
Second, its both a blessing and a curse to start off on such a BANGER of a video. Saro put on one of the greatest performances of all time at a GBB. Ridiculous. Technically and otherwise. I say its a blessing AND a curse because like... not a whole lot is going to hit the same, you know? And like I said, I started in 2021. And usually what a person hears first tends to be their favorite (not just beatboxing, but media in general) and I went a few months without watching this video, and even I think its one of the greatest of all time.
Third, even though I absolutely loved it at the beginning, I couldn't help but cringe at times, especially with weird sounds like the tongue flute (which you'll inevitably run across if you keep going) but I eventually got over it, so don't feel bad if you cringe a little at times.
And as for recommendations, I'd say watch the Top 10 Drops from each respective year in GBB. So like, 'Top 10 Drops Solo GBB 2019' and there was no GBB in 2020 because of Covid, so go to 2021's 'Top 10 Drops Solo GBB 2021' and 'Top 10 Drops Loopstation 2021', then there wasn't a GBB in 2022 because of... reasons I wont delve into. But 2023 happened in October, and so far, they've released the Tag-Team Eliminations (elimination is basically seeding and qualifying. For this one, 8 tag-teams showed up, gave a 4 minute performance each, and top 4 teams qualified to battles) and Battles, and they've released the Loopstation battles. All sick as hell, I'd watch them all if I were you, but try not to spoil the results by going on their channel, which is 'Swissbeatbox' for GBB videos
So yeah, its a really awesome art and community. Even in the battles, it's not crazy competitive as you saw, MB14 was like hovering Saro, being like, "how tf are you doing that?!" Some can get really competitive, but it's usually not crazy. Every beatboxer has their own style, so there's a lot of range in terms of musical taste; from hip-hop, dubstep, trap, super technical, etc. I hope you guys keep watching these beatbox videos because they are awesome and you guys seem really cool.
