I’ve heard it said that MB14 uses the loop more naturally than most other loopers. The loop station has a ridiculous number of effects you can use, but most of what he does is just what his voice can naturally produce. It sets his style apart from the loopers who make more extensive use of the available effects to modify their sound.

MB14 never won GBB but he was considered one of the best by all the people competing there. This guys is unreal ! He is a one of a kind beatboxer, I've never heard somebody do something similar. He alone shown that beatbox is music ^^ And he make us french people really proud !

well MB14 is one of the better old school loop station beatboxers and what makes him even more crazy is he didn't have on a headset to fully hear what he is actually doing so he is THAT confident in his ability. which is why everyone in the beatbox community loves him lol.
He is my favorite overall beatboxer, solely due to his musicality and control. Especially the first song, Pyramids, is one I would hope one day makes it into an elimination in GBB. He has perfect pitch and he can mimick a lot of instruments and a lot of people (for people who know how other beatboxers sound, there is a video impersonating their voices by swishbeatbox), probably helped by his absolute pitch. He barely uses effects, only some reverb most of the time. He isn't the best in the beatbox/loopstation battle stage, mostly because he doesn't use crazy drops, effects and crazy technical beatboxing, but his performances are always loved even if they don't win battles.
The only time he could have won GBB he met Saro in the semis (who was at his prime) and MB14 was eliminated... Unlucky... too much french power on the same year ^^

@@craiglee747 First off, I am not familiar with Dub FX , but I like Tom and Reggie , i like all forms of music , i was not dissing what the dude was doing. The difference between a pure beatboxer and a looper is that with a pure beatboxer all of the mixing is done with their mouth , A Looper uses a machine to mix the sounds and also a looper can use the tech to add pitch and reverb , that is why at Beatbox competitions they are not aloud to use a loop station. Edit: search GBB grand beatbox battles , and you will find that list you asked about

@@SkindrixX There is literally a loopstation category at the GBB, and they're allowed to use so advanced extra devices that it's barely even beatbox anymore. Though you're right, the mixing can be done with the machines, but if the recording of the loop is messed up it's hard to do something with it. It's a lot of mixing and using effects and I see it a lot as DJ-ing, but mic technique is also important to have a solid base. For MB14 though, he almost never uses effects, except a bit of reverb sometimes, and all of his sounds come directly from his mouth, then it's just layering and mic technique to make some sounds sound louder or quieter. And all of the perfectly executed harmonies and the singing without even having a headset to hear himself, nobody else can do that the way he does it.
I'm a girl, and I'm jealous of him. But I'm also a superfan. I'm so conflicted 🤦🏽♀️😂. Edit: He's originally from Algeria, which is an Arab North African country. So maybe thats why he picked up on the accent so easily? I don't know.
