I got the Laifen SE today! I stopped using hair dryers pretty much after the first time I used one in the late 90s LOL.. the reason being that it was too loud (I'm sensitive to loud noises), bulky, and hot. This is by far the quietest hair dryer I have heard! And it works so well on top of that?! Win win. I've never tried a Dyson because it is so expensive, but with the Laifen I don't think I'll ever have to try it. I am so happy with this product and how well it works.
That’s so dumb - you used a Dyson back in the 90’s and stopped and you’re trying to compare it to the dyson today! Haven’t heard of a dumber thing. Do you realize how tech works? And how far technology has come today? Also, companies have learning curves too! Dyson really upped itself in these recent 5 years! You can’t compare it to what it must have been back then!
I think the reason why the Dyson is perceived as quieter is because of its motor's sound frequency. Though the Laifen is quieter in sound test, the human perception that it's quieter is negligible, and the statistically louder Dyson sounds quieter. It's an anomaly that engineers take advantage, sort of like how vacuum cleaners are engineered to be loud on purpose, because users perceive a quieter vacuum as weak, even if the suction power is the same regardless if it's either quiet or loud. What I've noticed with Dyson's Supersonic hair dryer is that its high rpm motor has this high pitch that your ears eventually cancels out, so it's perceived as quieter. Such a cool trick from Dyson. It's very reminiscent to other engineering tricks, like adding weight on, for example, a remote or over-the-ear headphones to give it a premium feel, because customers complained that the products felts cheap when it was lighter.
Bought TWO Supersonics. Both overheated, stopped working. Nordstrom's credited albeit were just days after warranty expired. Bought new one at Dyson NYC flagship. Stopped working literally at the two year mark when warranty nearly ran out. Dyson refuses to stand behind its products. They are aware given the thousands of complaints that the hair dryers have a limited lifespan and they malfunction with the same issues (overheating/not turning on). I bought in 2021 a European Dyson in Paris. I know it will be a matter of time it will stop working and I've only used it 20 times at best. Don't buy a hairdryer. It won't last. I was happier with the 75.00 turbo hair dryer that lasted 10 years. A $500 hair dryer should last an eternity and not fail at the two year mark or prior.
@@kimdang1787 Have you tried cleaning the filter? If it’s overheating, it’s a sign that it’s not getting enough airflow. If the overheating didn’t damage anything, it should work as normal after cleaning the filter.
Dayum... I just got a new hairdryer of some no name brand with all the dyson attachments (was not even aware if it being a copy of dyson 😂) and literally just now put my dryer that I got in the 90's away to recycling cause it has only the option to be hot without any attachments. Now I am contemplating keeping it as it lasted me already 20 years and yi never considered a modern one giving up within just 2?! 🤯
4:38 I like the Laifen hat having that sharp squeal that all the new Dyson stuff has. It doesn’t make it powder but that pitch specifically is real hard on my ears, the vacuum for the same thing
I checked the website and unfortunately only the smooth nozzle is included with the blow dryer, all other accessories are extra. If all accessories were included I would buy this dryer as I use the diffuser more often.
9:20 Fantastic, tho you can run the cold shot continuously on the dyson! , just circulate thru the heat seatings, go to the highest and as you go to the lowest you’ll see that the leds will turn off and the cold shot will keep going until you press the temperature button again!! (btw i find this review interesting tho i still like dyson more even if the laifen is a valid alternative if u don’t have that kind of budget for a hair care device)
I’m happy with my Dyson! My hair looks great and it takes super quick. I’ve noticed a lot less breakage on my hair too. The price tag is outrageous, but for me it was worth it after blowing out more than $400 worth of hairdryers over the years. I guess only time will tell if it was a good investment or not.
The cool settings on the Dyson is like 5 degrees F warmer than the current temperature in your room But cools down in like 6 secs to your current temperature

Between the two which one is more durable and reliable. I own a Dyson vacuum and I must say it's been amazing in both performance and reliability. How long are there warranties?
Can't comment on the warranty, but I've had my Dyson SuperSonic since it released in 2016 and I've never had a single issue with it. It still works as well today as it did brand new. In my opinion, it was money well spent. I have no experience with the Laifen, but based on price alone I'd be skeptical of its longevity compared to the Dyson. But until the Laifen has been out for at least 5(+) years, it's' purely conjecture. Can recommend the Dyson without any hesitation though.

Why don’t you show the back of your hair with the first blow dryer? They’re still wet and not evenly dried. You can notice the hair sticking together in multiple areas. Plus, you’re using the most powerful setting on the first one and not the highest on the Dyson. That leaves you with frizzy hair after using the Dyson. Misleading video. It’s sad when you push a bad product to people who aren’t smart enough to see that you’re paid for this
For me personally,I can’t bring myself to pay $200.00 + for a Laifen, I can buy a elchim or babybliss made in Italy with a lifetime warranty and still have change left.
My Dyson hair dryer stopped working after 2.5 years (yes, I cleaned the filter). I took it into a local Dyson repair shop and they won't fix it because I removed the tag (that was an eyesore) with the serial number on it. So I'm out $600. They said they could sell me another one for a discount....sign. I'll never buy a Dyson again. I expect better service out of a premium brand. It's clearly a Dyson product. Not sure why the serial number is critical. Apple will work on any Apple product without a serial number. Not to mention the frustration of a $600 hair dryer failing shortly after the warranty period.
My husband has long thick hair. His ponytail is as thick as a horse's tail! I'm very jealous haha He only air dries his hair. If he uses a blowdryer, it makes his hair so frizzy and huge. His hair air dries like a professional blow dry... makes no sense. Me on the other hand, I have fine, thin hair and my hair is screwed either way. Blow dry or air dry. 😭

Blatant copy paste product, surprised Dyson hasn’t hit them with a Cease and desist. I have no respect nor will I ever buy a product that is edging on knock off territory. When every little detail is copied, what did that company actually do? What R&D did they actually put into making it? We fail people for plagiarism, but reward products for being blatant rip offs.
This sounds like a personal problem… obviously if they were granted a patent on design and no one else could make or sell these, they wouldve taken legal action because its taking away from their sales. But… they didnt… also, why do you care?!
You can’t be serious? 😂😂😂 so every blow dryer is a dupe of every blow dryer on the market, by your standards 😂😂 every brush. Shampoo and conditioner? Makes 0 sense!! And by the way “seise and desist,” isn’t even the proper terminology. Products have different patents, they are NOT the same. Glad you have the $$ to afford something that’s basically the same. PS this isn’t the first blow dryer with this type of design 😂😂
DON'T buy the Laifen if you are a hairstylist. Power cord is way too short! Talk about an oversight. It is however very strong, therefore it is useless for people with fine, thin hair

For me personally,I can’t bring myself to pay $200.00 + for a Laifen, I can buy a elchim or babybliss made in Italy with a lifetime warranty and still have change left.
Is the elchim or babybliss heavier than the Laifen?
laifen is 80$ right now
I don’t see the point of paying for a Dyson…even before watching this video!
Thank you! Got $20 more off!
Honestly the extra $150 the dyson costs is worth it for the box imo.
The same post on every Dyson video. This is a bot. Ignore it.
I would like to podcast with you. If possible, do let me know. I have had a long journey with my hair. Eagerly awaiting your response.

Hi Trav, we adore the comparison video! Laifen and Dyson possess distinctive features, and our aim is to offer more choices for individuals with comparable requirements. Our commitment to creating the ultimate hair dryer remains unwavering, and we will persist in our efforts to achieve this objective. 😀
😂 your differences are that you spent no time on research, just on ways to cut corners to cut costs 😊
@@travelwithdubsCongratulations for gatekeeping scientific findings. If it was up to you, the majority of us would still be living in caves except for a select elite. Luckily it isn't...
@@travelwithdubs making technology more affordable to the masses is not a bad thing. it's never good for monopolies to exist, especially ones that are super inaccessible to most people
Dyson def is louder.
Meanwhile in Sweden: the Laifen costs $360. Such bullshit.
Dyson spent the money on the R&D. Laifen just copied their hard work. You are actively supporting the kid who cheated in class.
😂😂😂😂 sponsored reviews…what a load of bs
TRAV: please upload a clean version without incessant background music- its super annoying.
Anyone else- thoughts on the background "music"?
Totally disagree, didnt even notice it until I read your comment..it was normal background music and not loud at all.
no sound performance == useless
Looks like a Chinese knock off
well from a manufacturing point of view neither one of them is worth more than $39.99… And even at that they're making profits for the true manufacturing of the components there's nothing expensive to talk about… A plastic case $.50… A motor maybe one $1.29… A few wires a circuit board and some switches… Both of these companies are making gouging profits… I guess Dyson their theory of "there's a sucker born every second" is contagious. So if you don't mind giving your money away two companies that think you're a sucker go ahead they're going to love you for it
Wooow who would've guessed that a company is selling their products for more than manufacturing cost. It's done everywhere doofus.
@@lysacid I was only stating their obvious 10,000% price hike is not reasonably fair or ethical… But your comment made you look like a real jerk… Why would you want to make yourself look so ugly?
Don't forget 1 cent for RnD, as it costs only like 10 bucks /s
Blatant copy paste product, surprised Dyson hasn’t hit them with a Cease and desist. I have no respect nor will I ever buy a product that is edging on knock off territory. When every little detail is copied, what did that company actually do? What R&D did they actually put into making it? We fail people for plagiarism, but reward products for being blatant rip offs.
This sounds like a personal problem… obviously if they were granted a patent on design and no one else could make or sell these, they wouldve taken legal action because its taking away from their sales. But… they didnt… also, why do you care?!
Will you be boycotting TH-cam as well? Or apple and Microsoft for that matter? Or are you only dying on that hill when it comes to $500 blow dryers
You care way too much
You can’t be serious? 😂😂😂 so every blow dryer is a dupe of every blow dryer on the market, by your standards 😂😂 every brush. Shampoo and conditioner? Makes 0 sense!! And by the way “seise and desist,” isn’t even the proper terminology. Products have different patents, they are NOT the same. Glad you have the $$ to afford something that’s basically the same. PS this isn’t the first blow dryer with this type of design 😂😂
For being the same product but $300 CHEAPER, I’ll take it.
Inch, feet, pounds, Fahrenheit??😂😂
A free product given to me is so much better!!! This way you can continue to get more free shit. horrible review.
Great review but your voice cracks a lot
YES was waiting for this :) cuz i wanted to buy this laifen
i saw you Dyson video and wanted to see whats your view on Laifen :D and there we go ! :)
Lafein breaks after a year of use...
DON'T buy the Laifen if you are a hairstylist. Power cord is way too short! Talk about an oversight. It is however very strong, therefore it is useless for people with fine, thin hair
Laifen 🤍
