Yeah, I’m VP of the Pickleball Club here at UTK, and our club has blown up this past year. We decided to make a competitive team this year and it’s been pretty awesome so far
IN GENERAL, the biggest knock on Technifibre's racquets is the handle shape. It's way more rectangular than other tennis handles. It just feels way bigger and doesn't feel particularly friendly to holding the racquet in a semi-western grip. It'd be interesting to see if they bring that into pickleball.
It was fine. I liked the occasional kids squeals too (or did you have an angry parrot?). I’ve noticed background noise is more of a distraction for the person on the call than the people listening to the call.
So all everyone is talking about on the Ripple is the speed, how does the production model PLAY, was it ridiculous trying to keep the ball from the back fence, how are the resets , predictability shot to shot with these power paddles (gen 3) seems to be huge variance, surprising in fact at times, like "what the heck was that?" type of surprise. Great job overall guys! And switching seating positions in the podcast is not allowed, USAP rule 3.2.1.0
Always great perspective and insight guys! However, Braydon, you did not address the difference in the newly released Ripple vs the beta version?? Several of your colleagues have already picked up on this. Thank you and would love your perspective!
Great show, yeah sound had some issues but let’s you know that the guys you see are just two passionate pickleballers who provide wholesome and quality info! Technifibre was my favorite tennis brand before I gave up tennis, I cannot wait to see those paddles. So cool to see a French and Aussie collab since Technifibre is owned by Locaste.
I tell people all the time the difference between 3.5 and 4.0 is consistency then 4.0 to 4.5 is shot selection and placement and 4.5 to 5.0+ is consistency again (consistency = footwork, technique together)
Tecnifibre released a photo on their Instagram and that’s pretty much it ha. It’s coming out soon though so everything will be there when they go live on their website
There is no ROI in the UPA certification unless you sponsor the top 5 pros that sell paddles or if the majority of local tournaments switch to their certification.
I switched from the ESQ to the Saga Flash and my game has definitely improved. I’d be interested to see what something like Neonic Flare Prime X would do to your game. My drops are better, placements better and still have finishing power. I sold my ESQ and Saga is my new main.
@@khpickleballso basically using the ESQ it was just too poppy, I hit a zinger block at the kitchen and it would fly out. I generate enough power so I would hit balls out. The dwell time on the saga allows me to put crazy spin on the ball and place my shots and my drops are legendary at the moment lol. Saga has allowed me to really shape the trajectory of the ball.
@@DroidX1337thank you for the response. Might try it out. I’m overall enjoying my ESQ 14, not so much the ESQ 12… and missing the plushness and touch of my old thicker hybrid paddles.
I’ve been using a Saga Flash LH side-by-side with my Joola Mod TA 14mm and I like everything about the Saga except its smaller sweet spot. Added tungsten down the side from 2 and 10 down around the lower corners to hopefully add some perimeter stability
Haven't hit with the Ripple, but I find the Gearbox Power Pro in the hands of someone who knows how to swing to be a ridiculous paddle. Putaways launch off the paddle. I'm pretty sure a direct his to the shin would remove the skin down to the bone :)
In regards to the Ripple, your sample size is too small in 1 regards. 1. You only have 1 Ripple. With ptoduction variations, it’s also possible you got a “low-end” of power Ripple.
Great pod fellas. I feel like I'm being heavily targeted by the carbon fiber insert on IG. Very skeptical of its usefulness and very wary about the increased injury potential. I know in carbon plated running shoes, the geometry of the plate has been optimized with "super" foams to create to the explosive pop you get on strides. I'm very skeptical of the effectiveness from a flat carbon insert with whatever random foam is found between court shoes will provide any benefits. Hope to hear more about y'all's findings.
Hey Braydon I made the comment about you switching to a control paddle, you played fantastic, I made that comment because I took your advice in the past about control paddles and switched to a Selkirk Lux control and it changed my game. I have an idea about future games you play with Chris. Just edit the videos where you win every game and then claim that anything Chris comes out with is a fabrication. 😂
So I’ve been playing with the crbn trufoam lately and it’s not as poppy as the Paddletek and I’ve been playing pretty good with it ha so maybe you’re right.
I do hit hard when I play…but kinda wish paddles weren’t as powerful in general. Pop on paddles and the average players skills have both increased…might be fun to play some games where all four players were using plush control paddles…Maybe Mach2 Forza’s 😂😂 …spins and dinks.
The Beta ripples are too much. Like a mod or slightly less than a gearbox. The production ones will be hotter. It's not good, and playing people with them is getting exhausting.
Ronbus sucks... such bull shit through the launch. This lousy company deserves all the crap it dishes out in the disingenuous hype ... what goes around comes around.
Yes, I have a Ripple Beta and have tried to process a warranty claim for the separation of the edge guard ( a known issue) and the peeling of the carbon fiber layer in a corner. I just got blown off by customer service saying that the peeling was likely caused by hitting the court surface. Never have I ever hit the court surface. I think they just have too many things going on with all of the issues with trying to get the Ripple to market that they don't want to be bothered with warranty claims. Contrast to Spartus that approved my warranty claim in 3 minutes from when I emailed them (No exaggeration).
@@trumpisastump9382 I don’t know what issues you have had. But Lisa and customer service is amazing. In the connect discord you will not find a negative thing. Warranty claims are denied if the person submitting the claim is not the original purchaser or if there is visible scuffs on the edge guard.
I purchased currex insoles for my regular Adidas running shoes that I use for outdoor courts VS my Reebok pickleball indoor sneakers and I went from getting water blisters on my toes no nearly never getting foot fatigue or anything after 4-5hrs of playing in the Adidas sneakers --- the Currex insoles although don’t looks super fancy by any means make a HUGE difference in comfort I would personally recommend them once you select all the right measurements for your foot type @dinksmashmedia
That's a wonderful moment with the hug from your son.
First time ever seeing Kyle play. I was impressed. Very good player!
Thanks 🙏
Foot Dr. Zach is my dude! He’s why I use the New Balance 2 WxY basketball shoes. Super comfy and I feel super stable and fast.

Did you do a comparison for the Ripples between the beta and the production models?

My audio sucks I know 😂. Bad mic placement and should have worn AirPods. Lesson learned

@@MattyRut2922haha yeah my kids got rowdy a few times during the call. Sounded like some WWE in the next room
Where was the information on the SIxZero and technifibre posted?
I didn’t think it was that bad. Plus the background made this oh so relatable! Hope your kiddo’s recovery was swift.
Ive heard a elongated Black Diamond.

I like this!
You also have to consider reaction time. Power paddles give less time to process in regards to outballs, etc.
Where can we see the Technifibre Siz Zero Collab? Not finding anything. Thx
Tecnifibre released a photo on their Instagram and that’s pretty much it ha. It’s coming out soon though so everything will be there when they go live on their website
Curious about Technifibre + Six Zero's paddle.
is the discourse with "power" paddles the reaction time on the receiver side?
I had heard there was a tennis collab with 6.0 and the paddles would have something special with the throat.
Ive been using dynamat (for car audio) instead of tungsten tape. Love the results
That’s interesting. How thick is the material?
@pickleballeffect maybe 2-3mm. The adhesive is squishy so it molds well. Almost 1:1 weight to 1g/in tungsten in terms of strip length
What about the Ripple 2 14mm?
Great pod. U guys are awesome
Great content!
How did you get John Cincola review your game?
I asked ha but it helps when I can share the video through my channels to build his audience too. Helping each other grow.
Just saw on their website that Ripple release postponed.
I know :/ so frustrating.
Where was the information on the SIxZero and technifibre posted?
Do you have the first fun of ripples? Heard the updated ripple is much harder to use.
Yes, I have the new ones. The test results I shared were with the new versions.
Braydon, did you get spin numbers yet for the 2nd batch of ripples, assuming without the ripples now spin has decreased🤔
Kyle & Braydon you need to hold up the shoes that you put the inserts in. I have no clue what brands you were referring to.
need that gearbox hyper review!

I saw in Pickleball Studio that the new Ripple had a very different sound than the old Ripple, and sounds something strange about it.
Pickleball coming to high school is an exciting news.
Pickleball studio has a very different take on the new ripple based on their play..
Okay, so is the UPA-A Certification fee still $20,000 per year retainer? And another $50,000/yr to certify for sponsorship of a professional player?
Better lighting for both. Better with split screen.

John Cincola one of the best coaches out there for sure
There are many good deals on Black Friday.
Gonna start saying “validify” for fun
@pickleballeffect has anyone reviewed the new ripples that Kyle mentioned that don’t actually show the ripple in the face?
No, those just got sent out to people a week and half ago.

Among all the Gen3s, I also hate defending against the Gearbox the most! The way the ball comes off it is just different than the other power paddle!

that’s it! It came to me after but dang I was drawing a blank 😂
poor Prince, still making 2018’s finest paddles
😅
If 1% increases are ok, then there is no effective limit and eventually we will have 50% greater power. First we need an effective test.

To keep it fair higher value players should not use hot paddles but low value Rec players should be able to use high power!
I didn’t make the comment but thought that while watching. When they were speeding you up you were hitting balls wide and out.
Crap, don’t do this to me again.
The sound isn't good. Muffled.
