This is actually how I first discovered Vedanta. I read a book called An Immense Works by Ed Young and it blew my mind. It went into depth into many different animals and their “Umwelt” - which essentially means an organisms environment as perceived by its senses. And we can never change our umvelt or experience another’s umvelt because we are limited by our own sense organs. For instance, certain sea life can feel very small changes in water pressure or movement from up to 300 yards away - it’s like having a long distance sense of touch. Or that certain animals see more colors and we can’t possibly imagine what a different color looks like because we’re trapped by our own unwelt.
This blew my mind and set me off on a search about - what else don’t I know or see. Or take for granted and assume my reality is such because I experience it through my senses and my brain. Fast forward 6 months later, I’m now fully engrossed in Vedanta lol.

This reminds me of Don Hoffmans book : the case against reality, has a theory of fitness payoffs . That creates our reality to survive in this world. Swami and Don would be a could talk if that haven’t done so yet

But Swamiji aren’t nature and us one ? If something is serving nature’s purpose ….. it should serve our’s too in a big picture way

how would you know if something is serving nature's purpose?
isn't everything that happens, serving nature's purpose?
including our hardwired tendency to crave sweets?
as well as our realization that sugar isn't good for our health?
