Why is it “Está muy bonito este restaurante” instead of “Es muy bonito este restaurante.”? It seems being very beautiful is a characteristic of the restaurant.
Hey :) You can also use "estar" to express your personal, subjective opinion about the characteristics of something. So, in the restaurant example, Erika is emphasizing that she personally thinks the restaurant is nice, and it's not necessarily a "fact" as such. I know it's an annoying twist to "ser" vs "estar", but you'll hear it being used this way A LOT. Thanks so much for the tip, it's much appreciated 😊
