Leaving on a Two Year Mission

- Spencer gives his farewell address to his church congregation, followed by an ice cream social at the home with friends and family. The day finally arrives for Spencer to be dropped off at the Provo MTC (Missionary Training Center) before leaving to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for two years. The family visits and says their goodbyes on the Provo temple grounds.

I was just showing my husband your vlog and Spencer’s drop off. He said “ wow, that’s changed!” My husband went into the MTC in 1981, he said the parents and missionaries were in an auditorium, at the end of a bit of orientation they said missionaries say your goodbyes and you exit to the left doors, families to the right! He served in the Dallas Texas North mission. I told Steve in 6 yrs Ella their baby will have graduated high school, the three boys will have all completed missions, two completed college, one halfway through! A couple of them possibly married and maybe a baby somewhere in there! Haha have I sent you into panic mode yet! Hang in there Mama! You’re ready for this! Just breathe! i can only imagine the whirlwind of joy AND tears for a mother to say goodbye - even if its for a limited amount of time and with the grace of our Saviour you will see him again soon.. but oh boy, my mother-heart cried with you. my girls are 6 years old and the second is only 10 weeks young but i felt every tear ❤😢😊 be safe

Out of curiosity, why does Spencer need to learn Spanish to come to Pennsylvania? I live about 90 minutes north of Pittsburgh, and while there is diversity in the city, the majority are English speaking.
How do you feel only 2 at home?

Do you think Ruby Franke hurt your church?
I believe she embarrassed the church but it wasn't the church fault ,and LDS people do not abuse their children. You have to remember there are good people and bad people everywhere you go.
That is a lot to pack for 2 years
