My only objection is that the children sat still for the entire video. Totally unrealistic. These must be either heavily sedated or else a different species entirely that I've never seen before. I really hope Clint isn't trying to pass off some wild-caught, mystery specimens as "captive bred humans".

As a 30+ year keeper of humans I consider myself a moderate expert. I concur wholeheartedly with the contents of this video. Extremely difficult, but totally worth it. The best part is when your kept humans have matured, married, and begin to keep their own humans. My goodness. The second generation of humans are so much easier - you can even send them home!
My new reason to give when people ask me why I'm child-free now is going to be that their pet care is beyond my ownership abilities.

@@curiousfirely They do, actually. So well, in fact, that the clicker and target aren't needed after a while and they'll start responding to just body language.
They're very social and very intelligent, and can form pack-bonds with anything. Engaging in training exercises with those they identify as belonging to their "pack" is essential to keep them healthy, since they need mental stimulation and a sense of social belonging.

There unfortunately are still wild-caught human children. Some "rescues" turn a profit with them. They especially like to catch young females because there's high demand for them. They'll recycle stories about "rescuing" the children from impoverishment and neglect to pretend they're a legitimate rescue.
@@whifflingtit9240the worst is that there's several governments which have entire organisations dedicated to capturing wild bred ones under the guise of protection, often putting them into far more dangerous habitats.
I was thinking about getting a human child but thanks to you Clint, I have decided to go with a more even tempered pet that is less likely to poop on me and is much quieter and more tolerable to be around. I pick up my human serial killer tomorrow and I am so excited. Can you do an episode on crazy catlady humans? I'd love to rescue one someday.

The way you maintain your normal objectivity through this whole video had me dying laughing.
Children may not be the best pet for everyone, but the one I adopted is amazing. I can't imagine my life without her. She just got married (20yo) and I miss her terribly already. If you want a pet that will hopefully outlive you, consider either a human child, a parrot, or an Aldabra tortoise.

I didn’t have children, and this has at times been a source of great sadness. But I’ve discovered that kids and their keepers benefit from kind, kid-loving friends who spend time with them. This has been a source of great joy!
Plus you get to return them and have your freedom back! I decided about 20 years ago not to have children and I have no regrets. I do have a beautiful God daughter and I also teach children at forest school. But I’m very happy without being a mother myself. It’s a very personal choice 😊

Ah crap i've been giving mine crested gecko diet for 2 years now good thing i watched this to make the switch!
Don't worry, crested gecko diet is actually incredibly healthy for humans, at least post weening. Definitely better than what most are force-fed by their owners. The meal-worms and and other insects are incredibly nutritious. The lack of processed sugar improves mood, and getting their carbohydrates from fruit, they also intake plenty of soluble fiber, great for digestion. Also, getting them used to eating live insects before silly things like cultural stigma affect them vastly improves their chance of surviving in the wild, especially after society collapses.

I am a new parent of 1 year, and I’ve seen this video 2 years ago before my wife got pregnant, and revisiting this video made me laugh, smile, grin, and nod my head constantly. So true about the first year, but you miss it quick.

I love how you talk about the human child like any other animals. One of the pros of human children is portability. You can take them almost anywhere in the world. Communication may also be easier. Availability all depends on how fertile you and your partner are LOL.

The human child is the most high maintenance pet of ANY species. I swear it's like they don't have a survival instinct the only thing that helps is they scream to let you know if they need something so you will NEVER EVER miss it if they have a problem. I don't know about that availability thing though I see those little monsters everywhere I go

human children are one of the few pets I would never want. I'm not super enthusiastic about birds, for example, but would gladly accept one as a pet. I love arthropods and would happily keep a pet spider. even a black widow if one was given to me. but humans? nope, no thanks.

Dogs are good starter children. High maintrence costy. You can train your skills in child reaning on dogs. Before punchraseing them
