We are based on the western slope of Colorado so we only caught the edge of this storm - tonight wanted to see how our Nebraska neighbors were doing and we were appalled the major news networks did not have any videos when we typed in Nebraska flood!! Found your video and completely shocked by the level of devastation!! Our prayers are with you all and we will send what help we can!!

Just left Seward Nebraska Friday. Drove down Thursday. Had to spend the night at Missourt Valley I 29 was closed and I 80 was closed. Got out in time. Roads where being closed behind me.

I have heard that Fremont had been complete cut off from the outside world for days due to the flooding. (I attended college there in the 1970s and early 1980s.) You videos demonstrate the extent of the flooding so that us outsiders can appreciate the damage so many people thee suffered. My thoughts and heart goes out to all of you in the effected area.

The Danube is a major navigable river of Europe. For the mariners of the past, ice was a threat. Today many people love to cruise the Danube for vacation and it’s important for shipping as well. This music was in the sound track of Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey and other films. It’s a great Viennese Waltz but I think it also depicts the ebb and flow of rivers. Another such piece that I really love is The Moldau by Bedrich Smetana. I am a Nebraska River Rat and I have a whole collection of music in classical, country, and bluegrass styles that are all songs about rivers. I guess I’m a musical River Rat.

Same here in Cass County Nebr. we are on the south side of the Platte River, and getting dumped on big time! My video's would not upload so stopped trying we are on emergency water use as our sewer system and water plant are on that bottom ground. HWY 75 north to Omaha is closed parts of I29 in Iowa closed it is a mess.

I grew up on a farm along the Loess hills in Iowa (close to Percival and Thurman) Just to the East of the Missouri River in Iowa, lived in NE for quite a long to time too. Most of my family live in the area. I've been watching from CO where i live now, with my heart in my throat. I've been to that are where you are many times. Used to do storm photography! Mid 60's mom had a Buick convertible at our farm that maybe the top was down 2 times..Once a tree limb fell through the roof..Then I was about 10 coming off the hill with the Ford Select O Speed in a free wheeling gear, hit the right brake and ran the manure forks through the trunk..Another time dad hit the gas to jump a hump and the pedal stuck to the floor..we were bouncing off the roof when sis got down to pull it back up..The car was traded after that..Speaking of sun roofs the guys with them in tractors I can't figure..Thanks for this interesting bit

Sorry to say but up here in Central MN we still have 2' of snow on the ground. I took a video of my sump pump outlet 3/14/19 and it was going full blast all night and morning. Its still puking out water consistently. All this to say that there is more water on the way for Nebraska and Iowa!
Wow ! Looks like mid America is returning to its former existence as an inland-sea ! Not good for the price of beef ! Rivers create the terrain. Water has no equal in the environment in positive and negative ways. Last April (where I am presently living) we had a rain storm that put down five inches of water, per hour. Highways and bridges are the dams and gates to the flood, and very vulnerable and contributory in some sense. Thank you from a S. D. native.
My truck has a sun roof.... use it every chance I get! What helps on my truck is the power sliding back glass... open it up and even at 70+ mph it’s fairly quiet as long as the back glass is also open

That's been a common theme. We don't get a lot of attention out here. Some times its nice to be forgotten out in the rural areas. Other times, not so much.
The ocean called! It wants its water back. I once thought this type of flooding was bad until I learned about lake Missoula draining about 10 to 12 thousand years ago.
