We live in the upper far left hand corner of Washington State and I know what you mean about southern cooking. I have learned a lot from Miss Lori! I have heard the term bread pudding, but never knew what it was. This recipe sounds like a must try. I only need to buy some bread!
My husband's mother was from Arkansas and he said his grandma's bread pudding was THE best BUT he does love pecans. My mom and grandmother made the usual with cinnamon and raisins and I like your recipe. Last week I made him caramel cinnamon buns and he finished off the last one yesterday so I think I'll try your recipe for this week. Everyone thinks I spoil him by making a dessert every week but I would rather make him something fresh from ingredients out of my pantry than buy something from the store with all kinds of preservatives and extra stuff we don't need. Plus I LOVE to bake and since I retired at the end of last year, I have plenty of time to do it! I'll let you know how Mr. Man likes it and I'm pretty sure will.😊
I think that’s awesome that you “spoil” your man with good home cooking every week!! I think somehow the younger women today don’t realize the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Lol! I was helping out my daughter the other day because she was feeding my precious new grandbaby and I made a comment about having to make a good homecooked meal for her hardworking man and her hubby piped up and said yes that’s wonderful!!! My daughter scoffed at the idea and I said I’m not saying a woman’s place is only in the kitchen but if you want a happy life you will learn that a happy satisfied man is one of the keys and most are pretty darn satisfied eating home cooking. So a few days later she had made a from scratch meal and over spiced the ground beef and I told her to just put it into a colander and rinse off the excess spice with water…it worked and her husband had commented that there was something “wrong” with it (before she rinsed it) I told her to tell him he wasn’t allowed to criticize the cook especially one in training! He has to take the good with the bad and just pass out praise because positive reinforcement really does work wonders. 😂🥰❤️🇨🇦
@@leannekenyoung I agree. I have made him one every year for at least 30 years lol. I love watching you and Mr. Brown. I have been binge watching you.
Okay... confession here. I had my eye on those beans simmering on the back of the stove. Thinking now about beans and cornbread for supper and pecan pie bread pudding for dessert. I just discovered you! I am retired now, so not a youngster. I love how you cook. I grew up with home cooking like you do, cooked that way for my family, and have been lucky that both my daughters have learned from me. I love that your grands were there too! Oh Mrs. Lori, you did it good this time!! My hubby loves bread pudding and I love pecan pie. So this will be best of both worlds. Thank you for the video, recipe and for posting this🥰
Ms. Lori, Oh my that looks delicious! I just love all that you do. Our family farmed and ranched here in Texas six generations where bread pudding is classic. Mama was a school lunch lady for 33 years. Until she retired in ‘03 the kids were served her scratch made hot yeast rolls almost every day depending on the menu theme. She was able to help raise several generations, including her grand’s, before the ‘processed boxed’ food contracting took over most school cafeteria’s. Lunch ladies who really cook are special angels. God bless you n Mr. Brown.
Used to make this so much when the children were younger!!! At the hospital I learnt that all of the bread and doughnuts muffins left over would be frozen for Stuffing for Thanksgiving STUFFING !!! I tried it here in the house and man is that GREAT !!! Forget the desserts or turkey I ATE THE STUFFING like this it is great !!!
I used to bake in a restaurant. I made homemade bread everyday along with cakes, pies, and cookies. All the day old bread was made into bread pudding and I made rum sauce to go with. There was usually enough bread left over after a couple of days. It like my cinnamon rolls were a hit. People came back asking for more. It's also one of my favorites. Thankyou Lori.
Mrs. Lori, you said exactly what I was thinking, " this is so comforting!" I love bread pudding and I wish I was there to do the taste testing! Can't wait to make this. Thank you for sharing!

Wow great step up from a bread and butter pudding we had at school .will need to make this thank you enjoyed your grandchildren they are a blessing aren't they
This is the recipe I use every year for Christmas morning. I call it Christmas breakfast bake. I also make a second egg bake with bread, sausage and cheddar cheese for the table. Best smell to wake up to Christmas morning. The only difference is, I use crusty Italian bread sliced and staggered sideways, pour egg mixture over top and refrigerate over night to soak in. Then I slather that butter pecan goodness all over the top and bake. Always perfect. Always delicious. I absolutely agree about not needing a sauce because of its delicious richness. I appreciate the recipe for leftover bread cubes as I'm fully stocked in seasoned and unseasoned bread crumbs from leftover bread. Thank you Miss Lori. I must say watching your videos remind me of my childhood where we never had much and cooking/baking old school recipes while frying our fresh caught fish in cast iron over flames is something I'd truly enjoy going back to. Simpler times were and always will be the best. Have a Blessed day!
me brown is one lucky man! i grew up with bread pudding n rice pudding as a common dessert. now that im alone n throw away so much bread to the birds etc... i think back on what a wonderful way to use it

Miss Lori that looks so delicious 🤤. I have to limit myself on which videos of your that I watch. My husband and I are dieting.
I used to cook like that and I miss it especially on Sunday. You are a blessing to me. Just want you and Mr. Brown to know how much I enjoy your channel.
Hey Lori! I have burned out on fudge, cakes, etc. I made too many during the holidays. Most as gifts for Christmas. This recipe is just exactly what I need. Since I don't have any raisin bread now in my freezer I will just add raisins to the mix. I have all the ingredients and am going to make this tonight! Thank you for welcoming us into your beautiful home, and sharing your recipes. You & Mr. Brown take care and God Bless you and all of your family! ❤️🩹 Well I had to come back and say I made the bread pudding in a 9 X 9 pan. It ran over a bit on the edges. Thank you so much. It's the best I have ever had. This is my go to sweet now. Loved it ❤️
Hey Sister,
I finally tried this recipe😁
Friday i made your 1 hour yeast dinner roll recipe to go with meatloaf and i had some rolls left over, i just hated to throw them out to the chickens so... i made pecan pie bread pudding instead 😋.

Hello Michelle
I’ll try making one this weekend. Thank You 🙏🏼 Lori.
Thank you dear sweet lady for blessing us with an absolutely amazing recipe! This reminds me so much of my momma who got her Angel wings this past Good Friday. Mom made delicious bread pudding and all sorts of pastries and everything from scratch her butter tarts were so delicious. I miss her terribly and I know she’s watching over all of us. Thanks again for sharing such amazing down home from scratch recipes, we need them now more then ever!!! Society has become far too wasteful and that’s one thing for sure nothing ever went to waste in grandmas kitchen. It would always be converted into something even more delicious!🥰❤️🇨🇦
leannekenyoung, please accept my sincere condolences on the heartbreaking loss of your beloved mother. I pray you will be comforted through the years by many pleasant memories. ❤️ Elizabeth in Al

This looks so amazing Mrs Lori, cannot wait to make this at home! Blessings to you and yours🌺🌼🌺🌼
Mrs. Lori, you never disappoint!
