Thank you!!! Didn't think I would ever see this infomercial again. I have such amazing memories of watching this late at night on the shopping channels when I was young. Really brings back memories. I have a Total Gym now and train on it every day.

Thanks for your response. Infomercials are so great and it was a pleasure to get this one back to the public!!

I came here just now in !arch 2024 as watching the newest version of the infomercial. Total Gym Infomercials have been running consistently on late night TV in Australia for at least 25 years. It’s cool seeing this older version.

Seeing this video decades later, it's striking how similar this original infomercial model is to the TG XLS, which came out some years later and is still available for sale from Total Gym. I was inspired by these infomercials to buy a Total Gym in 1999...one of their higher level (non-infomercial) models, the TG 1100 (as it was designated at the time, before they changed it eventually to the TG 14000, as seen here: .th-cam.com/video/l4ukz6ipPg8/w-d-xo.html). They later brought out an economy TG to be sold in sports stores and department stores that was designated the 1100, but that wasn't the same machine I had. I got a new TG FIT last year, and I'm still enjoying working with this terrific and effective machine. I will always be a sincere booster of Total Gym!

oh man I used to love (still do) watching these TG infomercials! I used to stay up late at my grandparent's house in the 90's (we didn't have cable at my parent's) to see these infomercials, and eventually record it on my VCR! These infomercials captivated me and motivated me so much! Back then (90's) I was a teen and couldn't afford a TG but I sure dreamed about it lots! The fact that in the 90's I was a huge Chuck Norris fan made it that much more appealing! Add to that Christie Brinkley when I was a teen...! Many years later I would buy 6 Total gyms to make up for my deprivation back then! LOL

I used to stay up late in college, after the Sports Center was over, and cruise the cable stations to catch the Soloflex and Total Gym infomercials. I own both, and am pleased with both.

The half-hour Total Gym infomercial aired in 1998 featuring Chuck Norris, who played Texas ranger Cordell Walker on the CBS crime drama "Walker, Texas Ranger", which aired on CBS for 8 seasons and 203 episodes from 1993 to 2001, along with his co-host Christie Brinkley.👍

I’ve been looking for this infomercial. Actually not the infomercial, but the blonde in the white and blue. She is unforgettable!

Still have my Total Gym 2000 ordered in the 90's and it's still as sturdy as can be. Only thing I've had to replace once is the wheels on the glideboard.

You can get Huck wheels for total Gym and then you never have to replace the wheels again

I just set up my DL960 model Total Gym. A mid-eighties model I recently bought used. Built like a tank. I absolutely love it. What they say is true in this ad, it energizes, and is fun to use, like playing on a playground. I usually think of infomercials as full of b.s. but I'm now a big fan of the Total Gym. I love the whooshing up and down on the board, the postural strengthening, and just feeling all-around great!

Love these real life comments that back up the quality and longevity (and effectiveness, presumably!) of these products that people might otherwise think were corny or a rip-off!

@@TheTVMadman Thanks for the video. Real fun. It's worth watching "The History of the Total Gym" in TH-cam as well. My model looks just like the one in the video from 1984.

This is what I'd recommend for home basements. Along with : dual boxing stands for both heavy and speed bags, weighted vests, foam pylo box, foam fitness mats, speed jump ropes, aerobic step deck, pair of dip station bars with safety connector, vertical climber, exercise bike, and for outdoors: battle rope, trampoline, and tractor tire. All fun and safe for everyone all ages; especially family. Although I'd also would include a door frame pull up bar.

    • @keithornstead7559
      @keithornstead7559 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Never mind the door frame pull up bar ; Total Gym is fine than that. Plus, forget about an aerobics step deck and stick with only a mini trampoline. That can be used the same; plus more fun for the kiddies.

27:58…. Chuck went in for a kiss…. Christie pulled away…. Chuck recovered nicely in a Norris sort of way

I had this one. I ended up getting a 1400 because it had more accessories and I gave away the 2000. I regret it. The 1400 is great, but the 2000 was a little sturdier. I recently bought a FIT for $100.

Wonder how old Christie and Chuck were when this was filmed. They look great and probably in their 50s.

Can you upload the Total Gym infomercial back in 2002. With the big/buff/muscular/bodybuilder the late Rich Piana. If you have it. Thanks!!

Thanks for the note! As of February 2022, this is the only Total Gym infomercial we've come across. It might still be out there and we'll never stop accidentally looking for it!
