WEll done, a good buy and a good video review. I've owned about 50 different bikes over 45 years and I have just got hold of a P-reg 600 like yours but blue and it's the S with fairing. These are really good simple bikes, no gimmicks or gadgets, just what you need for a fun ride. Mine is stock standard, which is quite rare. Many have been modified, not always in the best taste, and many have been thrashed and abused. Yours looks like a good one. It's had the tail modded - rear mudguard removed or chopped, and LED indicators fitted. They hit the hooligan zone around 7000/8000 rpm but if you keep the revs lower and a light right wrist you can get 200+ miles on a tank of fuel. Yes, possibly an emerging classic in the same vein as the Yamaha RD350LC.
I really enjoy riding it! I've just started gathering the bits to put the tail end back to stock, not sure why but I always like things as they came out of the factory
I started on a 94 Suzuki GS500E, an air cooled parallel twin making about 40hp, but only 370 lbs dry. Stepped up to the Bandit 600, making about 75hp, but weighing 450 lbs dry. I briefly had a Bandit 1200, but the power was too much, so I sold it and kept the 600. Still happy with the choice, after all these years!
I’ve been riding since 96, riding Bandits since 2000. When I first went from the GS500 to the Bandit, the Bandit 600 felt a bit unwieldy. That went away with time. I now have a B6 and a Kawasaki Vulcan 900, which is a middleweight cruiser, and 150 lbs heavier than the Bandit! So riding the B6 after the Vulcan is a real treat!
I have the same bike and it always puts a smile on my face. A affordable cool air intake and danmoto carbon exaust brought it life and they sound great. Thx for the vid.

The Bandit 600 was indeed a parts bin special, but ultimately a collection of good choices. The motor was a Katana 600, tuned for more low and midrange power. The gas tank came from the Katana. The brakes, front fork, wheels and swingarm came from the RF600R (good luck finding one of those!). The tubular steel frame was original to the Bandit model. SACS stands for Suzuki Advanced Cooling System, which is what they called their air/oil cooled technology. It was a compromise, between air cooled motors that had to run at lower compression, and water cooled motors which, at the time, were heavier.
I've had 19 big bikes. 3 of them being bandit 600's they are incredible bikes such great value for money. I'm thinking about buying another which be be bandit number 4. They are fast enough for the road and everyday use. Plus the make a great sound with a stubby exhaust and they are very reliable!
You’re right about the Bandit being cold blooded, which was true for all of Suzuki’s oilhead bikes (B6, B12, Katana 600/750, RF600R). My trick is to start the bike with a good bit of choke, while putting on my riding gear. Once ready to roll, I could get on at about 1/4 choke, then close it completely within about 5 minutes of riding. Hope this helps. Cheers!

I have a 600 Bandit. If a cold engine starts without choke, there's a problem with the mixture. Full choke, start, back off choke in the first few miles as it warms up.
15:33 🙌🏽 This is why we ride bikes. It's a feeling like no other. Got a 650, so no fun with the carbs unfortunately but when mine is not being a heap of shit, she runs beautifully and is just a great craic all round. Can defo get into trouble 😂I've had mine for 2.5 years now and honestly I'm starting to desire more. I want the more mechanical simplicity of older bikes, no digital on/off throttle especially at low rpm. Looking for a 97 1200 to solve both these problems, and probably even going to go overseas to obtain it (from 🇮🇪). Love the Bandits, and coming from a CG125 I had (and still have) for years, 650 my 2nd bike, so technically a starter bike I suppose lol. Would the 1200 still technically be a starter bike for me? 😂
