    I had a red one with a GSX750F engine slotted in. Wonderful stuff! Personally, I'll never want for anything bigger. Same story as you, basically. My brother bought one of the original dark green ones, absolutely fresh out of the crate at the Suzuki dealer it was. I looked at it and thought..."me want".

    • @dadandmad
      @dadandmad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A 750 engine in one would be sweet! The 600 is plenty for me though. My mate had a dark green one too, lovely.

    Hooligan tool is a Bandit! I’ve ridden all sorts of bikes and the 600 was such a giggle too.

    • @dadandmad
      @dadandmad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yes. Always good fun on the Bandit. I did want a 1200 but the 600 is plenty in all fairness.

    Love the video. My first Suzuki was the “waterbuffalo” that was before you were born. It was very quick. Ride Harley’s now, i guess because I’m old and my reflexes aren’t there anymore for the quick bike. There’s a sayin, “nothing happens fast on a Harley but a wreck” so i stick with the slower, big and bulky Electra Glide. I’m 68 now and don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Be safe!!

      Hey John, thanks for stopping by! The Bandit is good fun but I do love my Sportster. I’m looking at a Road Glide in future too. I ride with a mate of mine who’s 70 years old and he’s one of the quickest I know! Age ain’t nothing but a number. 😜

  • @EpicAdamMotovlogs
    @EpicAdamMotovlogs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I love them because like you said they are work horses. They rev high, scream & are smooth to ride. I love mine so much that I'm thinking about getting the 1200s or getting a something for long rides but keeping my 600N for fun.

    • @dadandmad
      @dadandmad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      EpicAdam Motovlogs I hoped you’d watch this one mate. Bandits are so good! Always wanted a 1200 but I think I’d be too foolish on one to be fair 😂

    • @EpicAdamMotovlogs
      @EpicAdamMotovlogs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@dadandmad they're great but I'll probably won't have 1 if I had more money to spend on a motorcycle. They fit my budget & offer plenty of performance & fun. I'll probably get the 1200 next year.

    • @dadandmad
      @dadandmad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      EpicAdam Motovlogs Oh for sure mate. With the room I have for motorcycles, the Bandit will have to go at some point but I will always have a soft spot for them.

    They are solid bikes, I used to work for a local bike shop and the bandit was my go to for ride alongs when a customer wanted to test ride another bike. The half faired version I thought was a bit more piggish in handling than the naked. Really would love to pick one up again just for kicking around town.

    • @dadandmad
      @dadandmad  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great fun aren’t they. Yeah I’ve never been keen on the looks of the half faired S version. You can pick them up pretty cheap and parts are everywhere. Go and treat yourself!

    Just bought my first bandit, it’s a 98 plate 1200 with just 26.5k on the clock, it needs a little attention here and there but nothing I can’t handle as I’m in the motor trade and more than comfortable with a spanner in my hand…
    34+ yrs in the saddle and having ridden everything from DT50’s to EXUP1000’s, ZZR11’s and everything in between and I’ve yet to figure out why I didn’t get one sooner, so comfy, so easy on the body and so useable.
    I like the way you can get a proper wriggle on without having to ride aggressively, unlike a lot of the bikes I’ve owned over the years.

    • @dadandmad
      @dadandmad  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      34+ years and just now trying a Bandit? Welcome to the club! I’ve never owned or ridden a 1200 Bandit but maybe one day! 26.5k miles is low mileage and sounds like you got a few things to be tinkering with which is cool. You’re exactly right, I love my Bandit, feels so fun to ride.

    • @JustinWallace-ky9dm

      @@dadandmad I was brought up on 80’s and early 90’s muscle bikes CB’s, GS’s and the like so I sort of went off on a different tangent for a couple of decades but have now gotten to an age where comfort is more of a priority.
      Yes the 12 was a bit of a steal if I’m honest, it was my uncles but he’s getting on now and has been diagnosed with Parkinsons so has decided to thin out the collection (he’s still got 8 more to play with) and I couldn’t turn the 12 down especially not for the asking price of £800.
      Usual stuff to sort, exhaust collector, tank and bikini fairing could do with a re spray etc etc, other than that it’s fairly tidy for 26yrs old.

      @dadandmad  หลายเดือนก่อน +1
