I have learned with time that most reasons people always give to justify a new gudget buy, are reasons that given a new popular model, all will move regardless of the reason given, the weight, the file size, autofocus etc. all are all none issues , we will still move to cameras lucking in all the reason given depending on how it is marketed
Well when they either increase or decrease your productivity and in turn your cash flow they go from non-issues to issues. I definitely feel the URSA is technologically superior to the FX30 but the cons outweighed that IMO
Surprised you didn’t go with the fx3 for the larger image sensor and the better rolling shutter performance. The lowlight is also much better. Also wondering because you could go with an fx3 and fx6 and they have identical sensors so matching is easier and then you can have full rigging on the fx6 and portability of the fx3. I don’t really know of any drawbacks from going to the fx3 from the fx30 outside of also having to buy full frame glass since the S35 mode isn’t available in 4K on the fx3. You said a few drawbacks but didn’t mention any of them. I have an A1 and have zero issues but I don’t rig mine out like you do. Used to have an A7SIII before I sold that for the A1 and I feel like that camera but in a more riggable body would be clutch
I think the $$ was the biggest drawback for me. Having to buy full frame glass and the more expensive body just put it out of range for me. At least right now! Thanks for watching!
We use BMPCC6K Pro for our studio shoots and I use a Sony for my personal shoots. IMO, I find the BRaw gives superior colours compared to the Sony.
Any camera will give you superior colors to a Sony lol With the exception of Panasonic. Their color science is a joke.
I definitely agree. Its what I miss most. If Blackmagic just added AF!

Is the 4.6k still worth it in 2024?
I think so. Image is great and very versatile and you can’t get them so cheap now
