No, they are just noobs, that's why they don't understand why people who can afford only Blackmagic cameras don't need any of the pro features, and that's why those cameras are not selling.
Yeah, this is what I've been saying about a 4" articulating screen being too small. People are moaning and groaning about the 4" screen on Pyxis not being articulating, when in reality a 4" screen is too hard to pull focus with. You need an external monitor.
As I think, the reason for price reduction is competition with Canon C400. For 8000 USD one can buy Canon C400, much better camera, full frame, 6K, with better dynamic range and autofocus system, three native ISO, new backlighted sensor. Who would buy Blackmagic Ursa G2 with much less features for 6000 uSD? No one! The price reduction shows the difference between BM Ursa G2 and Canon C400.
That's a really great observation. We have never really been in the Canon ecosystem for filmmaking so we definitely aren't experienced to speak on it, but spec wise those are some great points!
Because nobody wants a brick while doing $1000 movies :) The same is with the BMPCC, for people who can't afford more expensive camera both raw and prores is an overkill. One thing is that people want it and the other thing is the whole workflow around it. DaVinci has exactly the same problem, most people don't need 80% of it's features, but because it has so many features, the ones you're using all the time are hard to use, so it's slowing down your workflow considerably.
I've been working in DaVinci as my do-it-all software for the last eight years and I can tell you, the workflow can be extremely streamlined if you know your way around it. Also, the "80%" is extremely powerful and you can just punch out a Hollywood movie out of one software. I would've never expected this to be possible even five years ago.
Komodo's are a solid choice when considering the Ursa 4.6K G2. We personally like the Blackmagic workflow and colour science a bit more, but have seen some incredible work done with the Komodo!
I'm not seeing this price break anywhere, where did you see it?
Did You forgot to color grade and posted this video in log?
you are 100% correct with that assumption

@@copilotco You can select gen 5 color science in resolve, which is awesome!

Always need an external monitor 😭
I bought this camera so I could learn to be a better filmmaker before I bought the new 12K Cine. Can't wait to start my journey
We love to hear it 🙏
Gotta start placing your mic toward him so you dont keep turning away from it lol
Don't worry we will teach Austin how to use a mic we promise 😂
@@copilotco he was just too excited about the prices so makes sense XD

Man I love Blackmagic cameras. Super dope 📸
They are the best 🙏
You guys forget to colour grade? Looks like you left the video in log.
Wish they kept cinema dng on this one like the 4.6k g1 😢
Where do you see this half off price? B&H and Adorama show it for $6k.
But they really need to update the firmware! Update Gen 5 CS and the new menu options.
Agreed… petition for Gen 5 on the URSA!
You two are hilarious. Subbed 👍
Appreciate that. We tried a new format/style for this video. Glad that some of our chaotic moments made the cut
Wow. I bought mine in 2021. This is crazy.
Right!? Too crazy!
Will you buy this camera at this price point or the new PYXIS?
That's a good question. We definitely would consider the PYSIX as a great replacement option to our Pocket 6K
The URSA G2 can use Gen5 color science in post.
Agreed. We find it's still challenging to make footage match perfectly though
You gotta speak into the mic man 😂
You ain't wrong. Fingers crossed for next time 😂
Where did you all get that top cheese plate tho??! Asking for a friend
amzn.to/45Hiuf0 - Replying for a friend :)
Because its used price is already so low. Should've done it before the Pyxis 6K came out.
Interesting take 👀👀
Not anymore 😢

That’s an interesting point. We feel like if you know which features to use and which ones to avoid, it can speed up your workflow considerably

12.3 stops ! Not 15!!
We just wish it was 15
