Was at this show, drove up from Monterey. Great show, ministry mostly unplugged was a surprise. Mazzy Star was incredible. One of my favorite concerts I’ve ever been to.
SICK OF IT ALL NOTTHEBAND Ministry was the best band/music that existed from the early mid eighties to the mid nineties. Everything "they" created was/is so far above in creativity, originally, and pure fucking Armageddon energy than any musical peers on so manny levels. People who don't know just miss out.
A lot of different styles and musical languages like Primus, RATM, Faith no more, type o negative, alice in chains, kyuss, rollins band, etc, etc, etc....later everithing was a copy of the copy, i miss 90's
This concert is a yearly event thrown by Neil Young, and benefits kids with problems, downs etc, which Neil's son had. It being a daytime show, and knowing there were kids and lots of hippies in this area, and given Al's love of country music, is why they chose these songs. Love Al's harp playing on the last song "Midnight Cowboy"
Deb, can anyone attend the shows? I would so love to go to one of them! I kinda need to. My fiance died a year ago. Music is one of the only things sustaining me. I want to be with him so badly.
Chilly sound....Dylans one is à pretty good one❤❤ Today i*m in 2024 and since i hear From Ministry in the early 90's I still love them. Thanks for upload.
I disagree. I remember the Big Day Out 1995. Everyone was waiting and saving their energy for Ministry. As soon as Al walked on stage the entire audience erupted. It was a phenomenal experience. The crowd were chilling out to The Cult then just went mental for Ministry. Ministry were an icon from the late eighties to mid 90’s. Filth Pig lost them a lot of fans, including me .
i been a huge ministry fan since i first saw them in 92, and had NO idea that AL J. could perform like this, on a lighter note. since i saw this video just now. he truly is a genius and a legend. thanks for this video.
This is brilliant. Many thanks! The many moods of ministry are now complete for me! They just - somehow - grew another 10 feet in my estimation. And boy howdy have I always loved these guys, especially with Paul in the band. Vale Mikey S.
i really enjoy watching ministry live from the 90s, al is so charismatic here and i love his fucking voice here(especially on here they come song), without effects and whatnot that you hear on album versions
Big Al is a legend. Have loved Ministry since first hearing them in 89. Great voice, great ideas. Some of the music on Land of Rape and Honey, like Hezbollah and Golden Dawn, was like nothing else, and nothing like that huge industrial sound they became known for. Saw them last year and, to be honest, didn't expect greatness due to the years, lineup changes etc...but it was loud, heavy and tight as a fish's ring.
Great time for shows!!remember Lollapalooza 1&2,ministry, pearl jam, Chris Cornell, etc,Jane's addiction, ice tea, jesus Mary chain,so many bands, nowadays shows cant compare
Great f#;$&ng performance! My 1$t time seeing the acoustic side of ministry. The last song is so damn magikal. Thank you Al and thank YOU for the upload!
15:24 Was never a fan of the Dead, but I love Al's cover of this. What are the odds that Al would even consider a show like this in 2016 or almost 2017?
HatedHero is was Johnny Depp that ripped off Al's look. Then some goofball named Rob Zombie ripped his look off. Say what you will about Al but he was original and an innovator.
That was amazing! I just watched the Fix DVD again earlier today & now I come across this... Would've made a great bonus video to include on Fix actually.
I cant watch it anymore. Heroin addict thung i guess? But yea.. This was real cool and shows people that Al is a man of MANY talents. And yes it woulda made a great extra
I don't understand how people are saying that sucks. Because he's playing actual music? They played on point and Al has a good voice... "oh no these weird stringed instruments are being played instead of someone pushing a button and there's an actual human voice"
I´d love to know Neil´s thoughts on this and how this collaboration came about . This is a great revelation to me cause I never thought Al could be such a decent singer minus all the effects.
Love the cover of ‘Friend of the Devil’. You get to see a totally different side of Al. Almost quite sweet, dare I say… He actually has a lovely voice. Also, they are doing a benefit gig for disabled children. All the heroin must have made him into a big softie?
from my pov Al was intended to sing all these lyrics, especially “watch out winners, don’tcha know your time has come”. Paul & Barry look captivated by what they are all presenting.
It is no small feat that they belt out Ministry tunes like Paisley so effectively here - this form of the band is powerful as fuck. Al's vocal and guitar skill here is also phenomenal - "friend of the devil" and the aformentioned lost b side, he sounds like a true force in the metal/industrial pantheon. The real laugh here is the blisteringly incoherent, drug addled display of Vedder who genuinely phones in a laughing stock of a performance no doubt swathed in the Ministry gang's "party favours" that day. The man is a stammering heap on stage, hahaha.
nothingspecial98 exactly why I´m bloody moaning about having felt into that trap I most despised at the time ;that being - playing the trillion dollar pharmaceutical game "willingly"... perpetually perhaps

Anyone else noteworthy perform besides Mazzy and Ministry?
Uncle Al is definetly one of the most underrated/under appreciated creative musicians/artists of his time.
90s Ministry is my hands down my all time favorite music. God i miss the 90s. Music these days sucks.

Everything "they" created was/is so far above in creativity, originally, and pure fucking Armageddon energy than any musical peers on so manny levels. People who don't know just miss out.
And the latest album, Amerikkkant is super Ministry, and Surgical Meth Machine is truly badass awesomeness...
A lot of different styles and musical languages like Primus, RATM, Faith no more, type o negative, alice in chains, kyuss, rollins band, etc, etc, etc....later everithing was a copy of the copy, i miss 90's
ministry hit a wall for a couple of albums, but the last few have been great.
There is something beautiful about this concert. The vibe of the songs, interaction between the musicians, and the kids in the back taking it all in.
Yeah this has Woodstock vibes, original, genuine, psychedelic groovyness
This concert is a yearly event thrown by Neil Young, and benefits kids with problems, downs etc, which Neil's son had. It being a daytime show, and knowing there were kids and lots of hippies in this area, and given Al's love of country music, is why they chose these songs. Love Al's harp playing on the last song "Midnight Cowboy"
it's also great and amazing to actually hear him sing. great performance!
Thought it looked like a Bridge School Benefit which traditionally is kept stripped down and acoustic.
Deb, can anyone attend the shows? I would so love to go to one of them! I kinda need to. My fiance died a year ago. Music is one of the only things sustaining me. I want to be with him so badly.
I think you meant harmonica, not harp lol
@@allmachtigenallergroter5298
Harp can also be used for harmonica 👍
My favourite 22 minutes on youtube. Thanks for posting.

Today i*m in 2024 and since i hear
From Ministry in the early 90's
I still love them.
Thanks for upload.
I was born in 74, so I got to fully appreciate and LIVE the 90s. Best decade ever.
71 for me, western Canada... punk scene and the late 80s and 90s were bonkers! Better than the 60s, obviously
'75. It sure was a fuckin trip. Lol
Literaly same here 🎉
and here..
I was born in '70 and I can tell ya, it was gay.
Most under rated band ever...90s Ministry...pure talent. Thank you Uncle Al, thank God I grew up in the 90s.
80’s Al is way better lol
To this very day Ministry bro
@@bryanshea1812 Twitch was the only Al before the 90's
Mind was 88. So much for ur 90ds

Amazing! Didn’t think I could like Ministry more than I did but this little ditty put them on another level for me.
i been a huge ministry fan since i first saw them in 92, and had NO idea that AL J. could perform like this, on a lighter note. since i saw this video just now. he truly is a genius and a legend. thanks for this video.
I saw them in Louisiana that same year.
This is brilliant.
Many thanks!

Wow...Al rocks...can watch this all day...jus did....
What a delightful performance. Little orange sunshine in the morning with Al Jorgensen and friends! 🤗😄
Al is great. He and Ministry will last forever in history.
it's so amazing
Deserves many more views. As close to the MTV Unplugged format as you'll get. RIP Mikey, dearly missed.
Best unplugged I’ve ever seen

I gutted I missed them when they were amazing any news on when ministry might play Britain x
Ministry in the 90 s were the best live act. Stanley Kubrick knew that and choose them for artificial intelligence movie.
@@ddsssa You are so correct the first time I seen them playing thieves with the chain link fence up still gives me the chills.
@max ancar
I saw them on that tour both nights in Houston at a club called #’s. Will never forget it.
been waiting for the full show for years... thanks for uploading it!!!
Eddie Vedder looks like he had the day off school but was forced to go to work with his dad.
OMG >_
Aaaand I just pissed myself.
90' grunge attitude ;)
Haw haw haw

Wow so good. Wish he would have done more. The unoffical ministry unplugged
To be honest I love ministry but this skyrocket them to a whole new level.
Avid fan from Philippines.....love this band!!!!
outstanding!!...Uncle Als the man.
aaaah this was amazing to watch, thanks for the upload...made my day.
People seem to forget how talented these guys (especially Uncle Al) really are when you strip the alt-industrial-metal away. Nice Grateful Dead cover.
grateful dead? How about Bob Dylan ,bro?

Yes from "god" vitamins! hahahah..Legend..

Ill have 4 of whatever the hell Veder had. Thank you very much.

U know what Joshua homme said,” if vedder gives u a pill don’t take it. Or better yet, just take half “
Wish I could have seen this in person.
The acoustic Al played is beautiful -- that blue is exquisite.
thnx for upload gold
Thanks for the full show I had only ever seen a bad copy of Friend Of The Devil great picture
Wtf was wrong with eddie? He looked like a character from one of primus's clay figures in their videos
Thank you for posting this, never seen anyone more ftup than Al before, Christ Ed
WOW,
I just stumbled uptone this MASTER PEACE,
AL & Freinds at there BEST,
DON'T MISS THIS,

I don't think his voice could do it today.
Totally agree. Fucking despise the dead ... much better version here than I've ever heard from anyone.
@@nodnarbd.9453 Anti dead are some weirdly triggered people.
Very cool! Glad I stumbled on this!
I've been back here a thousand times. This is the unofficial MTV unplugged that never was and it's just as good as Nirvana or Chains
Al looked great before he got piercings all over this face!
Film Gob he looked badass, expexially in spinchtour time
That's what a bunch of smack and meth will do to a mind
Roger Hoke hes more sober than ever now, but wacky and hard on conspiracy, yeah he was looking great with that beard and hair. Its about looks now.
He looked like a Johnny Depp clone for the longest time. You can't unsee it.
HatedHero is was Johnny Depp that ripped off Al's look. Then some goofball named Rob Zombie ripped his look off. Say what you will about Al but he was original and an innovator.

"Here They Come" could have been unreleased song by Alice In Chains by how it sounds with nice vocal harmonies and country style guitars!
Last song is *Theme from Midnight Cowboy* not Everybody's Talkin'.
Ministry doing this benefit was was true show of what Al and his band is.
I can’t believe I never seen this 😮 amazing!
Perfectamente pudieron haber sacado un album acustico (They perfectly could have been released an acoustic album)
What a jewell! Thx for loading up

talk about an obscure cover. That Ten Years After track is among my all time favorites..oh and this whole set is incredible. totally versatile band
this was great.
A moment Al should be proud of.
I´d love to know Neil´s thoughts on this and how this collaboration came about . This is a great revelation to me cause I never thought Al could be such a decent singer minus all the effects.
Delhi Delirium i was thinking the same thing the other day
So this is what Ministry would have sounded like if they had landed a gig at a MTV's "Unplugged" session. Then again, maybe not...
The magic really shines , when Al an Ministry slow their roll , tod , ...
Al used to make his guests get shitfaced drunk before they performed. Vedder is probably trying not to vomit during the whole set lol
Yeah......drunk.........
Pearl Jam performed after Ministry, he probably wasn't that fucked up so much as they didn't rehearse or plan anything
How can you make someone get shitfaced? And where did you hear such nonsense you stooge
@@jdavid6520It's called peer pressure and it was an anecdote from the Minsitry documentary called "Fix", you dork.
Wow, this is a different gig than what I was expecting; ah likes it !
paisley is easily one of my favorite songs, one of those songs you can interleave on repeat...even more so than lava, useless, 10/10, etc.
Excelente acustico...
The shoreline amphitheatre is right behind google headquaters, but when this was recorded, ther was no google for years ;)
