Hey very interesting video. I have Luminar Neo so would like to learn more about it
Background music is kind of loud. Drowns you out

Glad it was interesting; sorry the music was too loud! I might be able to make more videos about Luminar Neo in the future

Hi there...very informative video...I'd like your opinion on a different type of image to be edited and which software you think would be better.
I am a watercolor artist and would like to begin digitizing my artwork to print. Once I scan I will need to be able to adjust shade, tint, etc to get as close to my original artwork.
I'm capable of learning, of course, but will be a editing novice.
Which software do you think will be the best match for editing scanned original art work?
    Thank you for your thoughts.

Another really informative and useful video. The software looks like a nice extra tool for editing quickly. Thank you.

Nice video! I've used Luminar 4 as my primary editor for phone pics (Photoshop for everything else), and I've really liked it, so I went ahead and bought NEO. So far I think Luminar 4 has been better in some ways. I think this is because there are some planned features for Luminar NEO that haven't been released yet. I also don't usually use any of the AI features. (I've generally had better luck using the erase feature than the AI powerline removal feature, for example). I also admit that I already have some standard workflows for Luminar 4, and I haven't taken as much time as I maybe should to relearn things for NEO. I think I agree with your overall assessment.

Yeah, there are definitely some features I'm still waiting for, and I was excited about the power line removal but it only really works on a clear background and doesn't remove the poles, so it's just not quite there. Hopefully they'll be able to make it better soon! They're based in Ukraine though, so obviously that's unstable...
Luminar 4 is also great, and feels more complete than Neo, although it seems like it runs slower for me.
Definitely excited to see where AI photo editing goes in the future though!

Luminar have optics tools like Defringe and Remove Chromatic Aberrations and others. Why do you say that it doesn't have it?

Because I hadn't found it yet when I made the video, I'm not perfect 😂
I'm releasing an updated look at Luminar Neo tomorrow to talk about some new features and it includes a correction about that

Music is distracting. Otherwise good video. I don't like that Skylum keeps releasing new software all the time instead of focusing on one. Been using Luminar 4 for a long time

Sorry about the music, it's better in my newer videos! Skylum's release strategy is kind of weird, it feels like they fork the project every time they release a new version instead of just pushing out an update. But I think that's their way of making a continuing revenue stream for their new work without forcing people into subscriptions.

Under "Develop/Optics/Defringe" Have not had to use as of yet but it is there.

Ah, okay, I hadn't seen that, thanks! I just tried it on this photo and it didn't work, maybe because of the two tones of fringing, so hopefully they'll improve it, but at least now I know it's there lol

Affinity needs to add ability to save changes to RAW files

    • @EmmettBudd
      @EmmettBudd  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I agree, the best new feature they could add would be to maintain the full quality and edit history of RAW edits. You can partially get around it by clicking the assistant button in the develop persona and changing RAW output format to to 32 bit, just to make sure as much data as possible is kept.
