I've learned a view words japanese and the experience is completly different with the locals. I highly recommend to learn a bit japanese before visiting. It is a lot of fun actually to try it out and the locals seemed to have fun too :D
Completly agree with you! learning just few words would make the trip different experience. and we are always so happy someone is trying to learn Japanese. Don't be shy! it doesn't matter if it's accurate or not.
Also the Montana group were so wonderful! So kind and easy to talk to. Happy to hear their thoughts!
