Well we see a lot of orange BNSF locomotives in this video that's for sure. The CREX unit was a nice surprise. The train with the 4+2+2 configuration was simply unbelievable, just like the next one with the nine locos. This location is pretty nice and the action is great too. Amazing video again, your California adventure was a big success indeed. :)
No doubt, BNSF is the dominant railroad in this part of the country, although UP is more than just present. The desert and mountain venues with the many vantage points and backdrops are fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire trip and I'm glad the videos in this series could transmit at least part of this joy. Thanks so much for your feedback; I really appreciate it!
Hi MBMARS I absolutely loved this video. I like how you used picture in picture nicely done. The train with the nine engines was impressive to watch. The scenery was beautiful. I agree with a person that rated your video wish you could go to west coast more often LOVE this series. Thanks so much for this video a fun watch
I can imagine that you enjoyed it; I also like it. There are many details worth being discovered and the scenery is just great. I certainly like to railfan the west more intensively, but it's a long way to go from GA... The series/playlist contains 13 videos. I think that's not bad :)
Many thanks. Although there are periods of less action, it is one of the most traveled routes in the country. What amazed me most is how fluent traffic is. I did not observe any significant issues during the entire trip. I'm glad you enjoyed this video, too!
MBMARS sorry I have to write again work was canceled bad snow storm here in Maine. I loved the train with the nine engines that was fun to watch. I got a kick out of how the interstate highway so much higher than the trains. Thank you and thank you for this video please take care
I hope you're safe. It sounds crazy what I hear from the Northeast. The southbound lanes of the interstate were completely clogged. I was happy I didn't need to use it.
@Eugene Stoner My impression is that CSX has significantly improved in this regard since moving to PTC and PSR (and utilizing other means), but there are also fewer trains now, of course.
You are right MBMARS not bad at all I plan on going back to make sure I have not missed any. I cannot believe the responsibility the engineer has nine engines on a huge train WOW
Terrific catches/power/races/meets! I like how amazon is using intermodal/trailer containers now to deliver packages across the country from the west coast to the east coast. I believe that amazon does the same thing with Norfolk Southern (NS) trains.
Thanks! It was nice to see these new trailers and it's good amazon is now also using rail service for long-distance moves. I think I have yet to see my first amazon TOFC here in the southeast, though.
Great video sir!! Cool shots sir!! Keep up the great work sir!! I’m going to be taking a trip to Southern California sir looking forward to it!! Also how much battery life does ur camera have sir?
MB watched this again loved it just as much the first time. I enjoyed the sound of the big GE”S eating up territory. Did you know from your scanner that nine engines was on it’s way? Thanks again for everything from a repeat watcher
I know what you mean. There's a lot of details that one often only recognizes at the second or third look. No, I didn't know about it. BNSF and UP don't talk much on the scanner, unlike CSX or NS.
just letting you know the windscreen filter is cutting out the bass sounds from the chug of the engines. I want to hear the bassy rumble of the engines on the mountain grade!!! :) lol
@@mbmars01 dang!!! I've had that experience when at Curtis Hill in 2008. Plus I used the windscreen filter back then and didn't realize it cuts out some of the rumble of the diesels so i couldn't hardly hear anything on the video but my friends videos the engines was loud. I take some furry material and glue it on over the mics on the camcorder since then to make a baffle to cut the wind noise down and not use a wind screen filter. Works really good.
@@mbmars01 Now if i can figure out how to do the fancy screens you do for your titles or captions. I am using Power Director. What are you using? I like how you do your fancy intros and caption screens. I hadn't been happy with my plain jane videos.
I used iMovie, which is a video software that comes with every Mac, in the past. It has some of these effects already built in. Nowadays I use the more commercial software Final Cut Pro X, also on Mac. It's like iMovie, but with more options. I know there are much fancier ways to create intros and stuff, but I'm happy with what I have right now.
@@mbmars01 But still, aren't there mic covers like the TV reporters use. I only mention this because it detracts from the great diesel sounds in your videos.
@Eugene Stoner The "night vision mode" on this camcorder simply enhances the IR spectrum of light that its CMOS chip can capture, but, of course, this is not specialized night-vision equipment. In other words, this mode works only decently well, if some supporting ambient light (like from street lamps) is available. The Cajon area is simply black at night (unless there's full moon lol).
The Cajon series are always my favorite sets !!!!
Excellent! It's simply a great location.

Amazing shots. Lots of long distant shots also. Excellent video as usual.
Thanks! This area is awesome, because of the long-distance views one has from a slightly elevated position. Loved it!
Awesome video! Unbelievable amount of action in cajon.Great long distance footage!

Great, take care.
Sweet video sir!! Cool shots and catches sir!! I enjoyed this series a lot sir!!
Many thanks! It was a lot of work to produce all these videos, but it was worth it :)
Excellent as always. Come them coming.
Cool, thanks!
Super film!
Great, thank you!
It always amazes me the amount of freight traffic over Cajon Pass.
It is amazing and it is also impressive to see that BNSF and UP manage to make it work. I spent several days in the area and didn't notice any issues.

Why would someone in their right mind dislike this awesome video??
Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I guess some people just don't like trains.
Another outstanding video!
Thank you!
This is a awesome video my man. You should come more to California.
Many thanks! Yea, if I lived closer I'd come by more frequently :)
Great video sir!! Cool shots sir!! Keep up the great work sir!! I’m going to be taking a trip to Southern California sir looking forward to it!! Also how much battery life does ur camera have sir?
Thanks so much! I have only two standard batteries and am charging them constantly... (to answer your question: maybe an hour).
mbmars01 ok thanks sir
Here we go!!
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Cool :)
mbmars01 Enjoyed every minute!
I'm happy you did. Thanks for watching!
Don't see them often but there they were! I only mention the one at, 05:27 in. Amazon trailers.
Neat.
They actually appear in various videos from this trip.
yay !!! some CN power coming up 😎
Lol, there has already been a lot of CN stuff in previous videos :)
Nice. Good stuff. Really appreciate seeing all those well cars. 🚂
Thanks! Yep, there were plenty of them :)
I enjoyed this video good video

Yea, sure. The wind blew that strong, though, that I couldn't even hear the rumble with my own ears! This was interesting.

Lol
BNSF 6621 22nd ES44C4 for BNSF
You need wind deflectors on your mics!!
What would Cajon Pass be without wind?! :) Sound is part of the story...

Cajoning a we will go
Yep.
Mr mbars I bet u won't stay the whole 24 hours at cajon pass lmao
I don't think one can see much during the night hours lol
