The moment, where I realiser that I already watch it in cinema, Short spoiler: Idea and characters good for Kids. But the movie, plot and so was very trash. There was scene where Carak runs through the woods. Then out of the blue, without any warning, they trying to scare a hunter, they didn't even talk about a hunter problem.
Only ONE BOOK comes to mind after I watched this from producer and writer K.A. Applegate... One of my favorites ❤ANIMORPHS❤ And this movie looks awesome!

I liked the premise of a school for shapeshifters, but the trope of conflict between "you're part of this group, you can't be friends with that group" is so painfully overplayed that I don't see how it can't be a miss.
Well actually this isn´t the main plot, and they become very good friends in the sixht book. It only starts of that way, because they are wolfes and he is a puma
I had a dream when I was 18. So realistic..could feel the wind, colors vibrant. I stood at the edge of a mesa top..told to jump. I changed into a red tail Hawk. I was told to jump by elderly native man and wasn't only one on cliff. Every dream I've ever had with native Americans have been super realistic. I stopped having these dreams about 25 yrs ago. Not sure why. The girl sprouting feathers from her arms made me think of it.

Yeah it's based on a German book series. That's why these are also German actors. But it takes place in Wyoming and the Rocky Mountains. :) But yeah, sadly the dubbing is really not that good. 😢 But in the original German version it's actually amazing. 😻 And the books are also fantastic! :)
It's based on a fairly long running book series of the same name, which also has a spinoff about water animal shapeshifters. I think only the first 2 novels are availaible in english so far though.
What exactly does that mean? "Real kids' content" these days is nothing but fodder, just moving bright colors to keep them distracted for hours, so their parents don't have to parent. This seems quite basic, but not THAT basic. Someone also pointed out that it's an expression of the futility of war. Whether that's true or not, the fact that someone can glean a theme like that from this shows that it's not just a "kids' movie."

There might be a theme about the futility of war, yes, but it feels like it was made primarily for kids who want to have a cool power fantasy about turning into animals that also treats problems and issues that kids deal with as themes important enough to stand on their own. This doesn't feel like the futility of war, it feels like kids learning how to form friendships when they feel like outcasts but also that people who offer those things while also cutting them off from others don't have their best interests at heart.
How do you get along with your friends if they are your prey? The movie sounds quite interesting but it is a possible issue. I wonder if or how the movie deals with it. Oh yeah, my school nickname was “Bear.”

For a moment there, I thought I was watching some kind of Twilight next Generation. Don't think I could deal with another 6 years, which would be worse, of Edward vs Jacob for the parents, and Puma vs Bear or other animal for teens.

With all this new tech out there, a studio like this needs to bring back Animorphs. Just imagine. Also, if that clip in this trailer was Carag as a mountain lion being beaten by wolves, that is so b.s. A puma would win over a pack of wolves, hands down. Wolves practically only have their teeth as a weapon and running strength. Anything feline can use teeth, claws, running strength, and can climb.

Also before, he was 11 as aahuman when he left his "real" family, so he never really lerned to fight and even if, only with his parents and sister. Also as long as I know, the wolves all allready had fighting classes for Months and (at least one of them) grew up in a canadian village, were they lived as both. So yeah, at this moment, its reallistically that they win (and yes, I´ve read all 20 Books)

Well, you better not be so sure... To be precise, the first part of the film series has already been released in a few countries and is already in the cinema charts in a few of them! And the book series on which the films are based is also a worldwide success. Part 2 is currently being filmed. :)

Growing up reading this in German, it’s a little odd to see American studios adapting it. (Though the author is both German and English, so I don’t know which version came first. It’s a very popular kids book series in Germany)
@@AngelLestat2 The story of Woodwalkers is really set there. :) Most of the filming was actually done in Austria, Germany, Italy and South Tyrol. Some places in nature were chosen that actually look very similar to the Rocky Mountains. However, they didn't want to film in the real Rocky Mountains, as it would have been far too expensive with travel etc. and, on the other hand, they also wanted to film as environmentally friendly as possible - bc this is also an important topic in the books and films. By the way, a little side fact: The animals you see in the film are actually almost all real animals, so-called "animal actors". Only the bears and of course the transformations were done with CGI. :)

Yeah I notice that most of the animals were real, at that time I did not knew that it was based on a novel or at certain location, so I thought the animal choice was also driven by selecting animals who did not pose such a danger to work with them it, like a Puma, these trained are almost like cats. But of course all this was driven by the books and fauna location.

What part of shapeshifting makes your clothes vanish and reappear? I always hated that part. Clothes are separate from your body. Easy enough to do shoulders-and-up framing when shifting back to human, and putting clothes back on. And shifting into perfect animals forms, instead of hybrid, 2 legged humanoid forms is boring.

I think only two or three woodwalker books are translated into english. I don't think Seawalkers is being translated so far.
