    I love these 40 minute videos showing watches I never knew existed. My watch knowledge sure has changed since my first Seiko 5 purchase.

      Thank you, Scott! While I can't avoid including mainstream models and brands, I make every effort to add watches that are uncommon, rarely seen, and dramatically different from the few makes and models that seem to dominate social media and watch forums.

    Blancpain - The finish on that Blancpain is both creative and finished with the highest attention to detail. I would normally never approve of a Chrono function on a dive watch, but this is the exception. Truly an amazing timepiece with a chronograph function going beyond what is expected. Nicely curated piece for today’s show.

      @Daavi85 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree, I'm a huge fan of Blancpain, they make beautiful watches and they're finished is gorgeous, I think they're on par if not surpass some other much more hyped brands and underated for what they offer too.

    • @the1916companywatchreviews
      @the1916companywatchreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Blancpain is a wonderful and underrated brand. The finish generally surpasses AP, rivals Vacheron, and offers this level of detail in a collection split evenly between sports and dress watches. Depreciation is your friend with these, and particularly with the dress models, you get a ton of used Blancpain for the money. And unlike 90% of the independent brands, Blancpain's status as a Swatch label ensures there will be money to keep the company alive longterm.

    This show had probably one of the coolest lineups. A lot of great watches Tim, especially that DayDate and Lange.

      Thanks, Joseph. I do my best to keep each week fresh, and I'm proud that this week's collection was enjoyable despite not featuring some kind of grand complication, $400,000 watch, or Greubel-type exotic.

    Great show Tim. Wonderful group of grail level watches. To many in today’s show to only pick one maybe the GS blue dial SD. Dial and second hand swipe are hypnotic. I would not get anything done. Thank you sir for your hard work. Stay healthy and safe.

    WOW awsome selection
    3 Titanium Votes for the weekend
    1. HYT high end cal extraordinary design
    2. UN Tourbillon all in house no more comments need
    3. Ressence T1 Slim, maybe my fav.
    Thanks Tim

      Of all the watches in the show, that Ressence likely would be my choice - that, or the MdT Chapter Three Apollo.

    Great job as always! Love the Kiri Zuri with the three best things about GS - spring drive, 44gs case, and fascinating dial. Saying that though, love the white dialled Omega. Almost the Snoopy Seamaster!

    That Moon watch was an image taken of Apollo 15 Astronaut Jim Irwin. I spent a morning with him and I even got to hold and inspect a little pebble from the moon that NASA let him keep. Many thought that was the best picture taken of any Apollo astronaut from the moon.

    Wrist shots make all the difference , some watches such as the Rolex Daytona look guite ungainly at first , those pushers are very large , but once you see them on the wrist it all changes , scale is everything !

    • @the1916companywatchreviews
      @the1916companywatchreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is why I suspect I'll never revert the show to its original desk format.

      I think I like this ivory dial more than the famed "glacier blue." The ivory is less common, warmer, and it's less conspicuous.

    I do really like the wear resistance of ceramic cases but I've always kinda been on the fence when it comes to the look of it as I'm just more a fan of metal but I'm really impressed with the brushed grey ceramic case of the Blancpain Bathyscaphe, it looks more like a brushed titanium, if you said it was I wouldn't think twice, I'd definitely consider it after seeing that piece, Awesome finishing.

      It's also uncommon to find one on a bracelet. The entire character of the watch changes compared to the same reference on a strap.

    That Vacheron was truly the best for last. The HYT is bonkers can reminds me of some sort of superhero gadget that injects the wearer with superjuice. at that size, the Hulk should wear that one! It’s his color too🤓

    I really love that Hyt, is there any "affordable" watches with similar complication?

    • @the1916companywatchreviews
      @the1916companywatchreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, HYT is unique in this regard. Your best bet is to find a used example of the lugless H0 model in stainless steel for $25,000 - $30,000 U.S.

    That moon portrait watch is the ultimate party piece and way classier than those other watches with 2 automatons having pre-marital relations. 🤓😎. If you are gonna go with cheese...make sure it’s the lunar variety.

      Stuff like that never will be mass produced. You can program a machine to do the work, but that will fool nobody. Craft art by masters ("metiers d'art") is one of the few areas of modern watchmaking that has not been automated to satisfactory effect.

    Waking up this weekend to an elegant president with that lovely dial and equally wonderful is that GS Spring Drive that I initially mistaken for a meteorite dial. Stay safe #timmossosunglasses

    • @the1916companywatchreviews

      The ivory dial makes this DDII. I would pick it over the "Glacier Blue" normally seen on these platinum "presidents."
