Great interview, Louise and Nina. Your interviews are as interesting as your music. Thanks for writing such great songs and playing them with such energy. You guys are the best! Louise, there is a guy on TH-cam that teaches a demo of your guitar solo from Volcano Girls. I don’t know if it’s exactly how you play it but it’s such a fantastic solo. It’s technical and flashy but also melodic and fits the music so well. Amazing! Ghost Notes is every bit as good as your earlier material. Fantastic album.

Sadly I didn't get to experience them in their day, but I've been a huge fan since 2004. I've considered Veruca Salt to be my favorite band for quite some time. I love the way they think and approach music. There's just an undeniable chemistry between Nina & Louise, even after all these years. I love them and this interview. Thanks for uploading.

Loving Veruca Salt even more as Covid19 Pandemic has ravaged the world here over the past year. Many of the small venues and clubs are shut their doors and closed for good which is so difficult and sad to see. Praying that they will be able to stay open for when this plague is gone. Music is what moves us and Veruca Salt in the 90s was like Zeppelin, The Cars, The Who were to me in the late 70s... Just an incredible journey. I still recall many late nights driving back from Chicago to Grand Rapids, MI after amazing shows. Got to see them in GR a few times as well. Such fond memories!

They were in the right place at the right time. Grunge era kids, moving at the speed of light only to get caught in the moment. Jealousy, anxiety and the promise from management for the lucrative solo career but ultimately destruction . Almost all bands seem to go thru this, but they luckily found each other again and realized they are good solo but great together.

I am kinda lost here because at the beginning of this interview they mentioned that they had not been together for 18 years... since something like 1997.. or about the time of "Eight arms to hold you"...which would place "Ghost Notes" release around 2015?
yet... the album "Resolver"... was released around 2000 and their 4th album "Veruca Salt IV"... was released around 2006... so in actuality... it has only been 9 years between the 4th and 5th album release...

First of all, GREAT podcast. Easily the best musical one I've heard.
The "musical battle lines" thing is hilarious. I listen to Metallica, Behemoth, Mariah Carey, Veruca Salt, Bosstones, Stryper, Marty Robbins, AC/DC, Delfonics, Bobby Darin, Buddy Guy, Jackson 5, Huey Lewis, Nile, Ratt, No Doubt, Lamb of God . . . Like, pretty much anything that just appeals to me, regardless of genre or production. I just don't get the "musical battle lines" thing on a fundamental level.

Nina & Louise had a falling out that effectively led to the band breaking up.
Louise reformed VS with an entirely different line up in the early 2000s. This iteration of the band released 2 albums - Resolver & IV .
They reformed the original line up in 2015, released Ghost notes & toured through 2016.
Louise is pretty active on social media. She's got a solo album out soon & is about to tour the US. I believe Nina is also working on solo material. No news on any new VS music at this stage.
