    It's been many years since I've made buttonholes and couldn't think where I was going wrong. So simple, I was forgetting to push the lever back. Thank you so much for this reminder.

    YOU the man!!! Ask/ speak up and be rewarded! We appreciate you sooo much. You bring the joy back to sewing for so many here and properly introduce sewing to different kinds of people and ages. Fantastic!

    Thank you, thank you! I’ve got a shirtdress project in the works and you saved me from researching the info from Singer online, as they don’t include the manual anymore when you purchase their sewing machines. Very timely vlog😊

    I watched at least 5 other tutorials and tried sewing along with them before this one and was about ready to give up attempting buttons until I watched this and first attempt I had sewn a button hole successfully. Thank you so much!

    I remember the first time I figured out how to use the buttonhole stitch on my Brother XL2600, I was amazed of how easy it was with just 1 step. I have also used a machine where you had to do 4 steps (a-b-c-d) and I am not a fan. 😅 Sometimes I forget to appreciate how far sewing machines have come.

      Your tension must be set incorrectly. Recheck his steps and try it again. Make sure you’re using the right tension for your material, needle and thread. I ruined my first 4423 HD singer not being patient enough to learn how to use it first and I just dove right in. Big mistake! Just had to buy another one. Fortunately it was slightly lower in price this time. Had a few things slightly different than the first machine but basically the same. I’m amazed how much difference it makes it use the right needles, thread and settings!

    Ok I’m a newbie as in I just ordered my machine. So when done w/ button do we reverse to lock in thread ? If not what do I do to lock thread in so it doesn’t unravel? Thank you!!!

    • @lexya2160
      @lexya2160 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@terencemoore554 Cool tysm! I purchased it in the end and road tested! Great for all kinds of fabrics! I recently used heavy weight canvas to make tote bags and it sailed through with no issues! If I used my old brother machine for it, the needle would have broke numerous times! Also, sewed light weight chiffon fabric with no problems at all! So happy with this machine!

    I’ve a,ways been terrified to make a buttonhole. I wonder how the machine knew how long to make the stitched hole? Was it because you placed the button in the front section?

    • @pipancla
      @pipancla 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the little lever that tells the machine when to go back - it gets pushed as the button comes towards the needle :)

  • @mca4u
    @mca4u 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    What a useless video. You make a buttonhole without showing the finished work and how it looks. Quite pointless for those trying to achieve neat sewing. Most electronic machines will make buttonholes the question is how consistent and with what level of quality stitching.
