  • Hi everyone,
Here’s the clip that shows the procedure for changing the brake fluid on the first generation Maruti Zen. In addition to the step-by-step procedure, I’ve also mentioned the brand and grade of brake fluid used, part diagram indicating the parts used with the part number and the pricing, towards the end of the clip.
The clip is in Malayalam (owing to the popularity of this pocket-rocket in Kerala) but I’ve added English caption/subs.
Let me know if you’ve any queries or suggestions! Thanks for watching! 🙂
PS: This clip is a part of the restoration efforts of our ’99 Zen LX.

amazing work gannu bai, seeing ur channel after long time post that polo news, good luck for the zen restoration, I am amazed seeing the paint quality of zen still so good after so many years. Bdw, how many kms has this zen clocked till date?, and where is JAZZ video? Hope you do some mods on jazz as well 😀

Hi Abhishek, the paint quality is really good, very little rusting in some areas but otherwise it has held up quite well. Can see the paint’s grain work shine in some areas. I really wished the car was taken care of properly. I did a complete repaint in the same shade (minus the ceiling) before the car was driven from Chennai to Gujarat. They did a good job too for the price I had paid. I will cover that in another video. I haven’t done any clips with the Jazz yet. Will do a detailed comparison with the Polo and the Jazz. I want to keep the Jazz stock since I intend to take up maximum warranty coverage and get it serviced at the authorised service centres. Let’s see. Some minor mods yes. Already installed the Honda OE IRVM. 🙃

Hehe honestly no clue dude. Since the car was with sister all this while, she had no idea what all services were done. So changed it since we were doing the other bits.

Wear gloves while handling all liquids

    • @GaneshBalan

If you noticed my previous one on the brake fluid change on the Polo, I did wear a set of nitrile gloves. Invariably, those tore off amidst the job while handling the tools. Decided not to wear one for this one. 🙂

@@GaneshBalan Yes, but they were surgical type, try using anti cut nitrile coated ones, far better!

The blue ones weren’t surgical ones but nitrile gloves. But thanks for the tip on the anti-cut type. Let me find out.
