I bought this watch in the 90s for £50. Definitely my favourite watch. Walking through Dixons and turning all their TVs up to max volume. I was born in 72 and Casio has always been my Watch. Although I have a smart watch now at the age of 52, I still have a G-Shock solar Casio watch. I've owned almost every model. The Remote has been my favourite. The Rolex of Casios. I always kept all my watches clean and I never scratched the screens.
As I’ve been known to say, I m sure that the nostalgia factor plays a huge role in Casio sales. Just like you I have memories of Casios I saw and desired as a child. And fast forward many years later, the Casio LOGO itself is capable of evoking memories and spark the urge to hold a watch in my hands (or on my wrist) every time, without fail. This piece, which I wasn’t familiar with, before watching your videos, is really interesting. Thanks for your videos!
I sought out to find info on the watch after telling a story from my Teen years. I used mine to mess with the Teachers at school too. That was a great watch for the time.
Amazing watch, thanks for sharing. I have a Casio 145 SA-55G Slim. Lovely dress type watch with alarm chronograph funtions. Only measures 5.33mm thick!!
The first time I saw one of these was in 1994 or 95 and I would've been about 16. One of my friends got one and we heard that the old remote central locking on some cars worked on IR so we tried it on my mates parents Renault 19 and it worked. We did have the key fob, so I think we used the learn function but it did work to unlock the car. I was absolutely blown away. We also had fun turning the TV off and on in class. Soon after we were going to pubs, bars and clubs where TVs were getting more and more popular for sports and also "background videos" of skiing and skateboarding (does anyone else remember this trend with TVs?) and we'd have fun turning the volume right up, changing channels etc. I guess we thought we were hilarious but I'm sure the staff found it very annoying. 🤣🤣
Hello I have a suggestion that might help you, I have a casio cmd 40 and when I changed the battery and the watch display came on straight away but there was no calculator mode, that was until I did an ac reset and the calculator mode suddenly appeared
