Q• Why are you uploading cruising videos and renovation videos at the same time.
A• As of October 2021 we have finished our journey to visit every waterway on the connected system but we still have a back lock of videos to edit. For this reason we are uploading a cruising video each week till we finish the journey. In November 2021 we started a project to renovate our Narrowboat and as there was a lot of interest in is filming this we decided to alternate the renovations with the old cruising videos. We also aim to get one renovation video up each week until the cruising videos are finished.
Q• Why do you speed up some of the footage in your videos?
A• We don't, we film it as time-lapse footage. We do not have the battery capacity or data storage to film in real time as our cruises can last up to 7 or 8 hours. We use to the time-lapse footage to help tell the story of movement rather than showcase the scenery. We limit the amount of time-lapse shots we use in each vlog.
Q• Why are your video's so behind?
A• We would love to release all our video's in the same week that we film them but that isn't possible for us. Jo only really has the capacity to edit two video's per week and as we make a video for each cruise that we do and we some times cruise 3 or 4 or 5 times a week we inevitably get behind. We fit in the vlogs around our lives not the other way round.
A biscuit is defined in law as hard and turns soft with age, a cake is soft and turns hard with age. Jaffa Cake ruling by supreme court. :) It was explained by Stephen Fry on QI Program on TV

We call them dead fly biscuits
I recall listening to a "here' how you do a lock" briefing which went along the lines "When you get to a lock open the paddles, wait until the level stops changing open the gates and shut the paddles". The hapless hirers were very confused and oh so grateful when I arrived behind them at their first lock and talked them slowly through the process, which they now understood. (Best part of it was later in the day when I strolled into the pub they were in and was greeted with "What do you want to eat & drink?". A real win for being nice.
The autonomous duck comment took me back to when I had a toddler & was watching a lot of Pingu. Casually said in conversation to someone "oh yes, because Penguins live in igloos, oh hang on, no they don't do they!!" 😂😂

Rugby Boats still do the TH-cam tours of all their boats, as featured by CtC a few years ago. I wondered if there was about to be a bit of a channel crossover thingy about to happen. The dog has become a star in its own right!

Garibaldi biscuits were my dads favourites. as a kid I called them dead fly biscuits :)

I do like this new format where we get Michael's thoughts on the philosophical nature of the biscuit isle, biscuits and their biscuit-adjacent brethren. Oh and trashy pop songs. 😁

It wasn't a hire boat. I don't think they actually realised or thought it through. No really harm done, just a little bit frustrating.
As kids our name for Garibaldi biscuits was "Fly Cemetaries!" - nice to hear them mentioned again after many years.

There's a can of worms - biscuits. You can have cheese biscuits made in the same way as sweet varieties sans sucre. However, in the US scones are called biscuits. Lets not get started on how to pronounce scone haha

I don't think I could be a single boater either. I can do some engine checks but get so confused about others. Some days I get more confused than others.

Michael, you're forgetting your spaceship technology. Bussard collectors are magnetic ramscoops which collect hydrogen from the interstellar medium and use it for propellant. ;) The idea has recently been debunked, but was thought that it might work for long enough that every Star Trek ship supposedly has them.

Yes. You are right about the cheese biscuits. I haven't brought myself to gave a garibaldi, id much rather have a chocolate chip cookie than anything with raisins in.
