It’s funny cuz before this entire thing, during the 2020 covid VERZUZ era, myself and my friends were trying to figure out who could compete with Drake in a verzuz and the only name I could come up With was Pharrell… then it occurred to me that Drake doesn’t have a single song produced by Pharrell which is INSANE!!!!!!!
@ quality wise, 1 BILLION PERCENT! But this is a verzuz! Idk if Kanye has songs that will connect to rock a crowd of CASUAL music listeners as much as Drake does! We aren’t just talking about “hip hop” fans when we talk VERZUZ, we are talking about the ENTIRE GLOBE watching! Grannies from Italy, kids from random towns in Mexico! Kanye is my 2nd favorite rapper ever while Drake ranks probably 100 for me PERSONALLY, I don’t care much for Drake….. but I’ve made the mistake of thinking the hip hop fan’s view of popularity is the world’s view. It’s not at all! A perfect example is when a family feud question ranked SNOOP DOGG as the greatest rapper of all time! To ME Kanye’s catalog without question because it’s QUALITY …. But for the casual listener, when “Work Work Work Work Work” comes on for Drake, then he hits them with 19 more of the same level of pop hit… idk how many of those ye got! Pharrell on the other hand……. When “beautiful” comes on….. then “frontin”, the “drop it like it’s hot” … yeah bruh! It’s a different level of pop culture popularity!
@@the77thPeople made the same argument about Dipset versus the Lox. Dipset were more popular. They were the bigger artists. They had more hits. They were more well-known. And who was Jadakiss? These were the same people who were shocked and surprised when the Lox stomped all over Dipset. And didn't we have the exact same conversation in the year of Drake versus Pusha T followed by a public ass whipping? And since lessons are never learned we had to have the same conversation AGAIN this year this time with Kendrick--followed by z funeral and subsequent 'confusion' over why the bigger artist was bodied... Hip hop is a competitive sport--not the Miss Congeniality contest at Miss World. When you're in the ring nobody cares who is more "popular" and I am not sure why people keep banking on Drake's international popularity to win his battles for him inside of AA cultural forumns like rap beef or Versuz.
@ you just proved my point…. Wrote that entire Theseus statement only to land at “hip hop is a competitive sport”…. When I literally empathized that Drake and Pharrell TRANSCEND “hip hop” ! Lox vs Dipset is Hip Hop vs Hip Hop! Pretty much similar fanbase! That’s not the case for Drake! Drake brings more non-hip hop fans than hip hop fans to a verzuz! Have you ever been to a Drake concert? Did that look like a “hip hop” crowd to you? Folks just be arguing !
Great video man. Never quite understood where exactly the drake vs kendrick beef stemmed from, and didnt know the history of everything talked about in this video.
The fact that Drake still hasn't melted down Pharrell's chains even though he said he would says everything about the situation. Drake isn't dumb enough to do that because HE KNOWS how integral Pharrell is to the history of hip hop and it would be idiotic to melt them down out of pride when they will be worth so much more in the future. Whether he likes it or not, Pharrell's history in hip hop is cemented and not on shaky ground like how Drake's is right now. Drake is suing UMG saying Not Like Us did Drake irreparable harm. LOL, he could always try selling those chains and Tupac's ring on the market to make up the money he lost in streams.
I think it's just that Travis cares more about how something sounds rather than what's being said. He was a producer first and it is funny that Drake likes to diss people close to Travis like Pharel and Kanye but I think it's just Travis not really caring about it cause it sounds cool
Never forget Clipse and Pharrell’s first Lil Wayne diss, “Mr. Me Too” - particularly Pusha T’s verse - literally spawned Virgil Abloh’s Pyrex/Off-White clothing line. “Pyrex stirs lead to Cavalli furs...” Making it one of the most influential diss tracks EVER. “It’s all based on high school experiences. Pusha-T drug raps. Champion gym uniforms. Caravaggio obsession. Micheal Jordan...” ~ Virgil Also Pharrell had the first LV collection, even before Kanye. It was a watch collection. And not only did Pusha T body Wayne with, “Exodus 23:1” - but it is so powerful years later because all of Lil Wayne and Drakes label and loyalty issues were detailed in that song. Never forget Pusha T was the first to call out Lil Wayne and Drake for using ghostwriters on “ILLIN” with Young Jeezy, before Meek Mill. “Tell Hov don't pass the crown so soon, unless he got a crown for every writer in the room. There's too many spirits on these ghost-written tunes, so you can't crown the heir until you seánce the room (YEUGHCK!!!!!)” And, now, amidst the Xxxtentacion trial.. and back and forth between Drakes camp with LA… Dreams Money Can’t Buy / Don’t Fxck with Me is aging like wine… “Rappers on their sophomores, acting like they Boss Lords….” Star Trak/GOOD Music vs Cash Money/Young Money as a battle was a Total and complete domination lol.
Pharrell dropped a classic in 07/09 and he did what drake pretended to do which is sing and rap. I always hated how people acted like Drake was the first to do that like there are a lot of artists from the last 30 years drake stole from even Cello green was Drake before drake.
Calling him a passive-aggressive fanboy is an understatement at this point. Those infantile, roundabout PR stunts didn't make an ounce of difference... It's gotta be lonely in that glass house of his... This one-sided delusion just screams "Please look at me". To Drake's chagrin Pharrell's not even noticing.
Absolutely great video! Awesome quality and informative information. Dope insight and presentation. This really elaborated on the personal aspects of the artists involved

The kelis situation is minor & the situation with Chad is bogus… Pharrell continued to keep Chad around & in the spotlight even when it was obvious he didn’t need him! Pharrell hasn’t needed Chad since around 2005 but still kept him around until the 2020’s which is phenomenal because I always wondered when would Pharrell drop that guy as he isn’t really needed! Don’t get me wrong Chad is an amazing producer & has contributed so much to the neptunes productions but we know Pharrell is good enough on his own!
@@JAYFULFILMZtheres literally no Neptunes or N.E.R.D without Chad. lets not down play his contributions because I can definitely tell the difference between a Pharrell beat against a Neptunes beat
@@JAYFULFILMZvery misinformed take. Its clear theres a difference in sound the moment they disbanded in the 2010’s. While P still made hits with Kendrick, Daft Punk, and Robin Thicke the catalog is nowhere near the 40% of songs they put on the radio together. Show some respect for Chad’s contribution to helping him get to where hes at.
Seeing the wisdom in how well balanced Pharell and Lupe are. KanYE missed a massive opportunity with Rebel child soldier his life would probably be better his mental health would way better if he hanged with those dudes instead of jay z or some other vultures and yes men

Now he's damn near 40 flexing another man's hand me downs because he's bitter. I get that it sucks to have people you idolize hate you for what someone else did, but this is actually embarrassing and only proves their point further.
The funny thing about the beef is Lil Wayne got into Bape because of Curren$y not because of Clipse. Spitta introduced Wayne to Bape, Wayne then proceeded to buy everything on the website and Clipse thought he was was biting the style which led to him getting pulled into the beef.
They all have a very capitalistic mindset. By which I mean they all screwed over many people they come up with so they could stay on top. Jay-Z, Mark Zuckerberg, Job etc got rid of their friends or cut them out after they served their purpose. Same with Pharrell.
Yep. And he's trying to essentially cut Chad Hugo's contributions out of his music to the point Chad sued him. Everyone in this beef sucks in some way, but Drake is still such a loser for letting this get to him.
This was an amazing video and the ending was icing on the cake. For anyone taking this as just rap shit you're missing the whole point. Drake among others are getting older but not maturing.

Lmao stop it
Bro jus sumarised the entire Pharell movie at the start 💀
10:00 i can’t lie man, love trav and everything but he consistently lets people disrespect other people that he’s cool with on his tracks
Dont respect it but its good marketing
I think it's just that Travis cares more about how something sounds rather than what's being said. He was a producer first and it is funny that Drake likes to diss people close to Travis like Pharel and Kanye but I think it's just Travis not really caring about it cause it sounds cool
Cause he don’t give no fucks about beef gang
I’ma have to sub, refreshing to find a Hip-Hop channel without an AI voiceover
"I hate an actor that plays a rapper" - Big Pun - Song: John Blaze
Never forget Clipse and Pharrell’s first Lil Wayne diss, “Mr. Me Too” - particularly Pusha T’s verse - literally spawned Virgil Abloh’s Pyrex/Off-White clothing line. “Pyrex stirs lead to Cavalli furs...” Making it one of the most influential diss tracks EVER.
“It’s all based on high school experiences. Pusha-T drug raps. Champion gym uniforms. Caravaggio obsession. Micheal Jordan...” ~ Virgil
Also Pharrell had the first LV collection, even before Kanye.
There's too many spirits on these ghost-written tunes, so you can't crown the heir until you seánce the room (YEUGHCK!!!!!)”
And, now, amidst the Xxxtentacion trial.. and back and forth between Drakes camp with LA… Dreams Money Can’t Buy / Don’t Fxck with Me is aging like wine… “Rappers on their sophomores, acting like they Boss Lords….”
Star Trak/GOOD Music vs Cash Money/Young Money as a battle was a Total and complete domination lol.
I feel like I'm watching that Lego movie again.. l
Pharrell subtly throwing shade at Drake in a kids soundtrack is a key moment of 2024.
Pharrell soned Drake in the most casual way possibly by simply acting like an adult.
Pharrell dropped a classic in 07/09 and he did what drake pretended to do which is sing and rap. I always hated how people acted like Drake was the first to do that like there are a lot of artists from the last 30 years drake stole from even Cello green was Drake before drake.
First in time for a new upload.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video and breakdown 👌🏿👌🏿 so good.
Glad you enjoyed 🙏 this was fun to make
Not mentioning pusha t exodus 23:1 as a major diss song is a interesting choice
Drake flexing with the jewelry that he bought from Pharrell… sounds like he’s a bitter Pharrell fan..
Drake is like "heheheh I got your chains" meanwhile he paid millions for them. lol
An almost 30 year old beef all just because Birdman was being frugal.😂😂😂
This sounds as dumb as the bloods and crips
*being a scammer. he too rich to not pay. Pharrell didn’t credit Kelis tho so he a scammer too.
None of the Hip-Hop legends ever respected Drake.
I guess snoop dogg not a hip hop legend or lil wayne 😂 yall just get on the internet and yap
@tariqwilliams8968 They're the only exceptions, and Snoop dissed Drake
Even DMX gave Drake props man you guys are just dumb 😂
KRS ONE Not a Legend... Em, Jay, Wayne❓❓ lol Ya'll don't have to like him for whatever Weird ass reasons ya'll have...
But u can't Deny the Talent - U Don't Stay On Top for Well Over a Decade By Fluke lol...
@@joshuacharles4403 All of them dudes dissed Drake after his 3rd album lol
I love your channel bro - but this is probably my fave video. Great work
Drake’s “heritage” line is telling.
Drake taking beef from other people like he takes their accents. 😂
7:53 Pusha did Pharrell’s fashion show in Paris and the clipse performed unreleased music taking shots at Drake. Drake responded on meltdown
Drake is basically syndrome from incredibles
Pharrell knew Drakes date would hear that song in Despicable Me 💀💀💀
13:50 not sure Kelis and Chad Hugo would agree =\
The kelis situation is minor & the situation with Chad is bogus… Pharrell continued to keep Chad around & in the spotlight even when it was obvious he didn’t need him! Pharrell hasn’t needed Chad since around 2005 but still kept him around until the 2020’s which is phenomenal because I always wondered when would Pharrell drop that guy as he isn’t really needed! Don’t get me wrong Chad is an amazing producer & has contributed so much to the neptunes productions but we know Pharrell is good enough on his own!
@@JAYFULFILMZwithout Chad no neptunes
@@JAYFULFILMZtheres literally no Neptunes or N.E.R.D without Chad. lets not down play his contributions because I can definitely tell the difference between a Pharrell beat against a Neptunes beat
@@JAYFULFILMZvery misinformed take. Its clear theres a difference in sound the moment they disbanded in the 2010’s. While P still made hits with Kendrick, Daft Punk, and Robin Thicke the catalog is nowhere near the 40% of songs they put on the radio together. Show some respect for Chad’s contribution to helping him get to where hes at.
Buying 15 Year old chains and paying $5 million to someone who has grown from them and bragging about it is a weird flex
Hope this video is profound like the others...let's go!
You don't hope for profoundness, you seek it...
the facts on this one is on point, rare youtube video where they get the info right. Liked 👍
Seeing the wisdom in how well balanced Pharell and Lupe are. KanYE missed a massive opportunity with Rebel child soldier his life would probably be better his mental health would way better if he hanged with those dudes instead of jay z or some other vultures and yes men
Shout out to HipHopMadness I Love real journalism bro!
I wish when I had a beef with somebody they would just buy my stuff...thank you for the money 🤦🏾 Drake so lame
It's gonna be worth more than what he spent on it so I don't see how that's lame.
Future Records moving in right across from that high school has to be the best luck I've ever heard of
Keep in mind that Drake had an autographed mic by Pharrell and said the Star Trak sound was a huge influence on his career. He even had Malice on his Comeback Season mixtape!
Drakes such a corn ball.
I Just came across your channel, and I'm loving it🅿️💯‼️😊
Didn’t Pharrell steal Kelis’ publishing? They’re all awful people.
Pharrell ain't fucking perfect of course he did some shit.
@@Lenron-B06 some very foul evil shit.
You're really exaggerating it@@Yppopojoj
This was an amazing video and the ending was icing on the cake. For anyone taking this as just rap shit you're missing the whole point. Drake among others are getting older but not maturing.
gawddamn Pharell be the Zen final boss. i love him so much
0:53 don’t forget the Pharrell is Timberland’s cousin and help the Neptune’s in their early days as well
Dear Hip-hop Madness please do not use colonizers terms to refer to us Latinos. Sincerely todos los benditos latinos del mundo
Excellent video! I have gained so much respect for Pharrell in how he handled all of Drake's jabs. We need a masterclass from Pharrell! ❤
Drake a FAN alright 😂
Great video.
6:20 latinos might get mad at you for saying Latinx.
You damn right, nobody fucked with that bullshit.
Great video!
Rappers are so stupid…
“Ya ima buy ya shit and flex cuz u didnt wanna give it to me for free”
Not rappers, just Aubrey Graham.
Drake: I got your chains!!!
Pharrell: Yeah, I sold them. Thanks...?
Latinx? This is the first time I’ve heard some one actually say this
Yeah same here lol didn’t like it
People have been saying it for years now
@@andrewwigley745 who is they ?
Latinx is a gender-neutral noun to refer to Latinos and latinas, though most of them don't like that term and think it's absurd.
@ I get it but I’m just saying I’ve never actually heard someone use it in conversation. And I grew up and still live in a predominantly Latin area of California lol
I wonder how many other beefs started because Birdman didn't pay someone. 🤔
buying chains isnt the same as chain snatching... you gotta take it off the dudes neck face to face.. not buy it... telling kendrdik to take the chains back as if he didnt buy it is crazy....
Very well done ❤
Second person to see the video but the first to comment, nice
You took the opportunity 🦾
Want a cookie?
Yeah we on that today
this is an excellent video.
If you love Hip Hop you can’t have respect for Drake.
