And it takes him like 3+ months to answer an email. Was quoted $900 for a Maryam horsebutt service boot. Not knocking it, I know all prices for everything have gone up, just being real.
@@almostvintagestyle I ordered a service cap toe on the 181 last in Natural Maryam. When I ordered, my taste was kind of vanilla at that moment. I plan to order a moc toe and monkey boot from him next
What is the number of articles (jackets, denim, boots, etc) you are comfortable owning at any given time? Given the quality and expense of the goods you buy I assume you have some kind of soft cap for yourself?
They are quite different. Iron Boots not only tend to have different designs, but they are meant to be more for city/street wear. They are softer and more flexible. Flame Panda boots are built in a more heavy duty way. Think of Flame Panda boots as Whites/Nicks/Wesco, but with far superior finishing and less arch support.
@@almostvintagestyle Is there a name for the other type of LTT boot where the vamp runs clean towards the rear of the boot? That’s the kind of LTT I like.
Dramatic opening Jake 😂
Haha it's kind of fun to do!

FYI, Peng’s prices have gone up since you bought them, but they’re still a bargain relative to what you get

I did not know that, but it makes sense. I'd still say they're worth it at that price.
@@df540148 I found he's a little faster answering IG dm messages, but yes he is a bit slow in terms of response.
@@almostvintagestyle Good to know and honestly it's how I communicate with all the Indo makers.
@@df540148 Yeah that's the best way to order a lot of boots.
Top 3 is spot on John Lofgren, Flame panda, and possibly made in GM JAPAN
Thanks!
Gorgeous pair!
Thanks! He does amazing work
Nice review of some beautiful boots. Cannot wait to have my own from Peng! Any day now….
Nice! What did you order?

@@mateotrono The monkey and moc are his two best designs IMO. The mocs are the best on the market
@@almostvintagestyle fully agree
@@mateotrono I wish my feet weren't too big for mocs
Beautiful Boots.
Thank you!
Speaking of cowboy boots, any notable brands/makers out there? It’s to find ones that use high quality leather - and that aren’t gimmicky imo
JB Hill looks really good, but I know there are some even better one man shops that you have to visit in person.
Do you generally wear hats and jackets indoors?
I’ve been wanting to downsize my vintage wardrobe. What do you use to sell your items?
I mostly just list things on IG stories
Just love to listen to you reviewing about boots! 😀
Thanks! I really appreciate that!

Boots I like to keep around 15 or less and leather jackets at 6 or less. It's not really a hard cap, but I try not to go overboard.
Beautiful boots man
Thanks! He makes gorgeous boots.
the quality eqauls to the price you are willing to pay.
I think people often perceive that whatever product they are willing to pay for is the best, but that is usually not true.
Wow, the first class handmade boots in China, from my hometown city.
You should see if you can go order or pick them up in person!
Hey Jake, how do these compare with Iron Boots?

@@almostvintagestyle ah, thanks for the info! I’m more used to PNW boots so I think I’ll end up trying Peng out first 😊
@@almostvintagestyle Thanks! That's very helpful.
Those are fucking beautiful
Thanks! He does incredible work and has beautiful designs.
Swweeet!
Thank you!
Wow!
How do I contact Flame Panda
Send him a DM on Instagram. He will probably be slow to respond.
I’m sorry, that looks like an uncircumcised… toe cap.
Yeah not everyone likes monkey boots.

China?? Uhmmm
It's made by a tiny workshop of family members... I don't see what the problem is.
