Unfortunately, catcalling has been an increasing problem in Germany in recent years. Not only in Frankfurt (which is the most criminal city in Germany), but in all major cities. In Frankfurt you should especially avoid the area around the train station. Munich will be quieter, otherwise I recommend staying in smaller and medium-sized towns.
I agree. I'd even suggest avoiding the areas around any main station in Germany, especially in the evenings... Frankfurt made me feel unsafe even though Germany is very safe in general.

Staying vigilant is indeed the way to go 😅 Frankfurt-Zeilsheim is known for its high crime rate. It's in the far west of Frankfurt. Statistically, Berlin and Frankfurt are the top two most "dangerous" cities in Germany (crime rates). Though there are mostly lovely parts with lovely people 😊 To me, the main stations always felt weird. Even in my 55k citizens home town, there's crime and drug dealing around the main station 🤷♀️
Love the random lone beer they shove in the corner of each fridge 😅 And the botanical gardens were so nice! Really have enjoyed the Germany vlogs a lot 👍

The number of times I’ve been followed and called after, especially around train stations, is so much more than in the rest of my life in the UK. Loving seeing you in Frankfurt as I used to live in Mainz about an hour away and we went there a lot.

I would also recommend some smaller towns, not only the big ones, for example if your traveling to munich you can visit Murnau am Staffelsee (nice old Town from where you can see the alps in the distance) or maybe a town near or in the alps like Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Füssen (Schloss Neuschwanstein) or Schönau am Königssee (one of germanys most beautiful lakes) near Berchtesgaden. Wish you a good time in my home town munich. :)

But there are so many great places to visit! Also, it is really worth it to take a train outside of the city if you‘d like to go for a hike! You could take the train called BRB and go to Lenggries, for example, there you will see very many typically Bavarian villages and it‘s great for hiking! 😊😍 I love your vlogs! Have a great time!
Oh, and there are many great vegan restaurants in Munich, for example Max Pett. But I can really recommend you to go to the restaurant called Bodhi, there you can eat Bavarian food, but all vegan! 🫶🏼
So sorry about the catcalling. I think you’ve handled it well. Don’t let it discourage you. You can quickly walk into a shop or building to get your bearings . I also recommend pepper spray and or whistle !!

I'm sorry about that too, but don't just take pepper spray with you in Germany, it's considered a weapon, you need a small weapons licence for it before you can carry it.

Honestly, since Germany is the country of bread, I'd highly recommend you go to a real bakery and get some fresh bread, it gets so much better than store-bought rye bread!! :) x
