  • In this video, we have solved situational questions on Traditional approach processes with detailed explanation for every question that will help solve not only these type of questions but numerous others that test similar skillsets.
    The questions these days in the exam have been reported to be long by almost every participant, hence, it is important to practice longer questions so that you find yourself in familiar condition during the exam.
    Every question follows the lesson that we learn from that question and how we can apply that to future questions. Feel free to note down the lessons learned and compile your own list that will be useful in the last minute of your exam prep.

      Wow..Many many congratulations. Can i connect with you offline? I am also preparing for PMP. Targeting to give the exam by mid Nov max...I wanted to know the difficulty level of questions in real exam. Questions from "Amit" are very challenging, not sure if we are getting same difficult questions in real exam as well? If you can please share your thoughts

    Sir,
    I have planned to appear for the exam on 22nd Oct.
    (I have not joined any of your courses but I have watched your this series on TH-cam and I would like to get guidance from you to plan for the exam🤗, which would be greatly helpful to me. My company provided me classes, those are good but I feel that I need to focus on critical thinking. I had appeared for the exam 1 month ago in which I got above Target in process domain, Target in Business environment but "need improvement" in people domain).
    One of my colleague passed the exam who watched your videos before exam and recommended me last month to watch.
    I have completed first 10 videos and jumped to this 13th number video as I really like videos on agile.
    Thanks for the videos shared, those are really very helpful to develop mindset and for critical thinking.

    Dear Amit, in slide if Change Mindset...what you thinks we have to inform the relevant stakeholder and then apply/implement the approach...

      I am talking about the steps you mentioned just after Q-2 in which I have doubt that we have to inform the relevant stakeholder first and then we will go for implementation...

    In Q-5 why we not go first for policies and procedures?

    • @edzest
      @edzest  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The policies and procedures are a very general aspect of the solution. If I want to help for agile I will help the team build an agile mindset- that's more direct.

    Hello, I came across a similar question to question 5 from this video, but I am not sure whether in this particular example it is better to first analyze the environment and then train the team, or go straight to training (which is the answer in question 5 of this video). I would appreciate your guidance:
    A project manager is working on multiple building construction projects using a predictive project management approach. Senior leadership within the organization is promoting the inclusion of more agile practices into the current project
    methodologies. The project sponsor now wants the projects to use more agile methodologies.
    Before mandating any agile methods to be used in a project, what should the project manager do first?
    A. Provide agile training to those who will be part of the project team.
    B. Shift all existing projects to agile methodologies with a strict timeline.
    C. Pause the current projects to align them to the new agile cadence.
    D. Assess the organizational culture and readiness for the transformation.

    • @edzest
      @edzest  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, let me try to provide an explanation that would help in many similar questions.
      Before taking any decision, it's better to analyse for those parameters that will help us in taking that decision.
      Providing training here is a decision.
      to decide for training in this given scenario,, you'd need to know what kind of training, availability of team members, and the Sponsor's suggestion in detail. Then you'll be able to choose the right kind of training.
      Hence, a better choice would be to assess and then take action.
      How to do it all in 60 second in the exam?
      For exam questions, check whether an option that's talking about analysis will help you in taking a better decision in a project Assessing the readiness for transformation will definitely help.
      Hence, here, D appears better.

    @edzest, For Q-2, Why not A is correct along with C. Any requirement comes, it should be added to the backlog first. Then when the Produt Owner prioritizes the story for implementation in the sprint, then we can discuss about the impact of that change/story. Without even including in the Product Backlog, how come one will discuss the impact? In my knowledge the answer should be A& C.
    Please suggest.

    • @edzest
      @edzest  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi, you analyse for impact with the team so that while adding users stories to backlog product owner would know whether only requirements are to be added or any other functionalities as well- related to dependencies or risks: technical aspects.

    • @venumadhavvaradaraj6141
      @venumadhavvaradaraj6141 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agree, but first anything comes as requirement should go into Product Backlog and based on priority it will be moved to upcoming sprint and then will be discussed to add more details to the story. I still feel A&C are correct 😊

    • @edzest
      @edzest  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@venumadhavvaradaraj6141 I completely understand your point and thanks for continuing the discussion rather than just accepting it.
      I'm trying to bring forth scenarios where the changes/advancement in regulation might not necessitate adding user stories to backlog. We may need to do a little change to existing features, and yet meet the requirements. Or we may need to add more than one user story.
      A quick technical discussion with the team will help in deciding, moving ahead with clarity, and reduce surprises.

  • @pbrpb4735

    Its not always "value to the customer". Its value with respect to the persona for whom we define a requirement. Example: As a Developer, I want to do technical work, to maintain code base. There is no customer here. This is value to the developer. But eventually a Product Owner takes a call if it is "value" enough to get into product backlog.

    • @edzest
      @edzest  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, you have made a valid point, which is a concern for many user stories, especially from developer's side. But ultimately, the user stories must be written in a way that it talks about user/customer value.
      In your example, "I want to do technical work" doesn't talk about any functionality, which is essential for user stories.
      Also, a product owner can't compare value to customer and value to developer. Think about it: what metrics will they use for comparison.
      There's a technique called INVEST to be used for writing good quality user stories, it's not just about following the template.
      Hope, I'm able to clarify. :)

    • @pbrpb4735
      @pbrpb4735 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I could have made it more understandable. Let me clarify with an example. "As a developer, I want to upgrade the database to the latest version so that we can improve system performance and security." - Is there a "customer" here, is there a "functionality" here ? No. But it still adds value to the user, which is the develpment team. I simply meant that any project work (tech work, research work, anti-risk work, mentoring work, bug fixes, development work) all get into product backlog first. Valuable here (V) is the team not customer. Your teaching style is great. I've asked my team members to follow you :)

    Q2: I chose A &C options because It says "Project Manager facilitates the meeting with legal team" which looks correct. Here I see Project Manager as Scrum master. So, Scrum master can facilitate that meeting. I did no select B because I thought why would Scrum Master discuss the impact of legal requirement with team member that is the job of product owner. Also, what impact we are talking about? Additionally I felt this requirement needs to be followed so requirement needs to go in product backlog. ...I feel. I am getting confused between...Things should be done first and the Roles/Responsibilities of Scrum Master/Product Owner in this question. Kindly share your thoughts.

    • @edzest
      @edzest  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi before taking any action, we must first understand and analyse the change expected. B and C are helping understand the change more.. only on receiving more information we can decide whether it should be added to backlog or not.
      Imagine a scenario where we may realise we cannot build the required update, we may have to cancel the product development... Hence it's better to understand/analyse first rather than take action.

    • @edzest
      @edzest  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For your confusion regarding what should be done first: always check the sequence: understand > analyse > take action.
      Very general but that's the best I can explain here. :)
