I agree about the gardening. I now build a greenhouse to get around the plant seasonality. Has anyone found a way of putting sprinklers in a greenhouse?
Yes greenhouses are great! In the household I was playing through in this video I was trying to challenge myself (for once) to just work with the seasons ☺️ ooo I don’t know about that actually, I’ve never tried it! Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed the video!
Honestly i think the main problem/difference is that the sims 4 doesn’t have an open world the and sims 3 does. But we forget that the sims 3 open world was extremely buggy and lowered performance causing your game to crash a lot. The sims 4 fixed this for the most part but causes the game to feel isolating and disjointed. I believe they may have the technology now to have an open world or at least open neighborhood without the game running too slow and glitchy but are probably reserving it for the sims 5 marketing. I think most simmers who complain about the sims 4 and prefer the sims 3 forget how glitchy and slow the sims 3 really was and that it’s basically due to the fact that it had an open world (also the graphics are somewhat dated and it’s hard to go back to a game with somewhat weaker graphics)
I definitely agree! I got to the point where playing in any normal world in the sims 3 became impossible until I was able to afford a gaming PC which still at times can struggle. Yes - I also hope the sims 5 will be open world... but this whole mobile integration stuff is worrying me a little bit. Hopefully they can pull it off. Thanks for commenting! :)
I love the TS3 I play it alot but not TS4 though, because there literally nothing to do there just standing in the house dancing and just watching TV. My sims in the TS4 do that everytime. I hate the Lag in TS3 it bothers me alot but even though it is the amazing game that has partial bad things it still the golden game of the Sims history and thats why I love the game as it is.
I do agree with you to an extent: in the sims 3 I'd actually have my sims leave the house! While with the sims 4, it feels like you can just do everything you'd do at community lots at home - so why suffer the loading screen? Thanks for watching; I hope you enjoyed the video! And sorry for how long it took to respond!
I flip flop a lot between these two as my favorite games in the series. TS3 has amazing Legacy gameplay and the pacing is better, but I enjoy how little friction there is in TS4. Playing TS4 is near effortless, it runs well and you can very easily make good looking sims and houses through its intuitive tools. I always say that while TS4 doesn't have the *most* customization, it has the *best* customization in my opinion. Something else that I find hard to come back to in TS3 is how poorly the Wishes guide you to completion. TS2 and 4 to a lesser extent give you detailed instructions on how to achieve most goals, tutorializing you on the mechanics and introducing you to the possibility space. TS3 just seems to give you vague suggestions when it tells you to do something, which I find frustrating. Overall, I end up playing 4 a lot more. It's just simpler to get a session going and I find it has less demotivating annoyances that keep me from playing 3. Also I'm having a lot of fun with rotational games recently and TS3 isn't too optimized for that playstyle.
I think I resonate a lot with this surprisingly. I like how you described the sims 4 as having little friction: it really is easy to boot up a save and just play for a little while and feel like you have made some progress. Whenever I’m playing the sims 3 though I feel like I need to dedicate a good few hours to a play session. Thanks for taking the time to comment, I hope you enjoyed the video!!❤️
If EA optimized TS3 14 years ago, I’d say that the game is near perfect for me personally. I love TS3 bc you don’t need every pack and mods just to make the gameplay fun, I played the base game for years on PS3 when I was younger and I still had a blast even with it’s limitations. I personally feel like the only things TS4 does better for me are obviously graphics, game performance and better CAS Sim customization. Other than that it’s still lacks a lot in terms of things to do, plus the game has too many bugs for majority of the packs for you to even enjoy the gameplay. Most people only play TS4 to build and that’s probably bc that’s the only things in the game that isn’t boring and broken. Imo if they took TS2, TS3 and TS4 and fused all of the best features from each game together, we’d honestly have a great simulation game for once.
Nice video! I like the sims 2 the best personally. I disagree slightly on the sims 3 store I think the difference is the sims 3 expansions had so much content you didn’t need to use the store items at all especially not for basic features. I also don’t think modding is bad besides just putting a folder in which you download as long as you use packages you never have to use the launcher I’ve personally used it only a couple times. I do agree with gardening though sims 4 I can always get into gardening however running more of a farm type of a deal is better in sims 3 even with cottage living. I do like skills in general more in sims 3 because of how their are all the hidden ones as well as they feel more in depth/realistic to me. For example how to level up in charisma you need friends whereas in sims 4 you can just talk to yourself in a mirror. I think sims 4 would be a great game if the others didn’t exist. I started on sims 4 loved it and played the sims 2 once went back and couldn’t play the sims 4 for more than an hour without getting bored. But I do think that is has some strong points like build mode and certain cas features.
Hey Jodie! I recently found a way to download and install the sims 2 (as I have never played it before) - and I have to say it is quite overwhelming with all the cool features. I can't wait until I have some time to really sink into it so I can learn how it all works! Yes - I think I will eventually get around to writing a whole video on the sims 3 store and quality of expansions vs that which we have in the sims 4 now because it seems to be a very nuanced argument. You make a good point about skills too! I think I talk a little bit more about this in my 100 ways the sims 4 could be improved video which, if you enjoyed this one, you might find interesting! Thank you so much for watching :)
@@YasminsCorner I'll lookout for when you make that video sounds interesting and I'll checkout your 100 ways video. Glad you like the sims 2 I think that is the most expansive game and you get the most bang for your buck with it lol. Your welcome:)

Rotational play style is the best in sims 4 and sims 2! You can set it up in 3 but I think 3 is much better for legacy
I don’t like how the Sims 4 guides you to complete the goals. It is too much like a checklist.
