    • @n8j012
      @n8j012 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      88 keys aren't necessary when you can hit A0 - C8 with 22 frets per string
      A 12 string has a range of 37 notes at a time
      So 24 string is a little more than a 61 keyed piano
      A 29 string would get you those 88 notes
      But a 30 string just feels balanced
      But I see the need for the classic feel of chords without weird hand posture or overlapping
      Davie504 did 69 strings for a bass, I bassically as far as we've come 😂

      As a pianist I spent 3 years trying to learn classic guitar and gave up.
      Non-keyboard instruments have so many unnecessary roadblocks and it just hurt my hands and fingers :/
      Also requires long nails and every other sound is a TZZOINN or a funny fart.
      The biggest bummer is a solo keyboard can make good music while a solo any other instrument is never enough by itself.
      So I could not enjoy my own performance while playing the guitar

      @M P that's a given for any 2 different instrument. The opposite is also true and way more important : the piano is much more versatile since you can use it as a keyboard to make any sound you want, and both hands play equally with up to 10 fingers.
      As I mentioned in previous comment, most important aspect is that solo piano is way more rewarding to play than solo guitar

      One thing worth noting is that the harpejji is a little more complicated than it appears. I mean, I looks like a plank with some fretwire, strings, tuners, and a pickup. But the electronics are a lot more advanced than what a guitar uses, a guitar just has a pickup, it picks up whatever it picks up, and that goes out to your amp. The harpejji has a noise dampening system inside of it to prevent the string noise which would absolutely ruin whatever you are playing with all of the sympathetic vibration and whatnot. And on top of that the harpejji is also just a proprietary instrument, there is one company that makes them, and they don't make thaaat many of them.

    • @heartycoffee4754
      @heartycoffee4754 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@MattMcConaha yeah i thought it would have to have some sort of damping system for the strings, but it stilll sucks that the cheapest ones are like upwards of 3500.

    • @HansyPants184
      @HansyPants184 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      @@MattMcConaha No one is saying that it's just a guitar. No one is implying that art or innovation isn't deserving of fair pay. From where I'm sitting it seems hard to get people into harpejji if there's no step in between no harpejji and $3k+ though. It seems like there's a gap in the product line that might get people in the door who would be apprehensive to try out a brand new instrument with the price range of the current lineup. Maybe I'm just not the target audience.

    • @jessepereira8296
      @jessepereira8296 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      just a plank, some strings and a lot of pickups
      the most difficult part I think is the frets (they need to be huge)

    • @jessepereira8296
