as someone who studies abstract art, what he's saying has some truth to it and that really makes it. One thing that he's almost spot on about is the hole take your mind out of a box thing (box being the rules of art).
He gets abstract art better than most art TH-camrs, as a joke. That says how little they know about it, as he still doesn't properly get it himself but they don't get it all. That might also say how pretentious art is, as him being over the top got him close to how it actually works.
Isn't abstract art follows the rule of "breaking the common rules" to create visual / narrative interests? Most abstract artists I've seen on youtube only focus on "breaking the rules" without the true purpose of creating interests through the "gap" between expectation and presentation, and it usually results into very confusingly bad pieces.

@@MrCleks absolutely breaking rules of art for breaking the rules sake will not give you a good piece of art but that is a part of the extreme abstract work and the way he talked about it and describes it is very accurate to that but it is one piece of a larger puzzle and this won't create good abstract art, but at least the larger craters (which bearing mind are usually based in cartoons which tend to be people that don't have any interest or even need to understand abstract art) don't seem to understand the value of abstract art, and the fact that he does he, even if it is purely ironic, speaks to how little they understand.
I don't think he'll be able to create a master peace of abstract art just from this surface level knowledge. This is only in reference to to the larger creators I know but you seem to be speaking of small craters or even larger creators I don't know of. but then again I don't use TH-cam for art so for all I know there could be a wealth of creators with a far better understanding of art which are very large which I have no idea about
