Psychotherapist here…generational trauma is absolutely inherited AND at the same time we can absolutely take action to heal it. Multiple truths can exist at the same time, it’s called dialectical thinking. Ultimately, your perspectives and beliefs are creating your perceived reality along with the physical manifestations of that perceived reality.
Luigi is an intelligent person. He took a drastic measure to highlight a real problem impacting people’s lives and quality of life. There are results, or consequences, (both positive and negative) to our actions. Both the CEO and Luigi are examples of that. So the question is…what result are you wanting when you make a decision? The CEO chose his path and so did Luigi. Their paths diverged and it brought to light the unethical practices insurance companies have been doing for years at the expense of human life. Hopefully positive change will happen because our health shouldn’t be a profit-based business. Healthcare is a basic human right.

I do not believe LM is the shooter of BT. I will concede that LM was probably involved or at least aware or BT imminent death. LM may be part of a group, Patty Hearst comes to mind. So now, after taking in this interview, there are two very suspicious matters concerning Luigi’s arrest.
The interviewee says quite convincingly that Luigi possesses an intellect that is much superior to the contents of the alleged manifesto. That he was well read, and that the brevity of the handwritten note of 262 words was unequal to the person with whom he spoke for two hours.
And then there’s the matter of Luigi saying to the judge that he didn’t know where the money came from that was allegedly found in his possession. MSNBC reported this from the courtroom.
Anyone familiar with policing knows that cops *routinely* plant evidence on suspects - all the time. Cops will even admit this as a tactic.
This appears to be the NYPD flouting their immunity from any kind of oversight. They were clearly embarrassed after unsuccessfully being able to capture a killer who remained kn the run for over five days. And despite having a $6 billion budget of a small army in the most surveilled city in the world. Not that efficient to say the least.
The more one ponders this case the more it seems they’ve overplayed their hand and may be involved in some kind of coverup. Wouldn’t be the first time.
This capitalist dystopia of America is so deeply corrupt. Healthcare being administered by insurance companies who directly profit from denying people the help they need is just one facet of many. Everyone is on the take, when you can just buy people off with all the illicit, blood money swirling around.

This is exactly what I've been saying too. I personally think they lost the actual killer in Central Park. And because they needed someone to ease the concerns of other ceos, when the McDonald's person in another state said they think Luigi is the killer (which is laughable because the original security pic you can barely see his face), the cops just showed up and was like, yup! I greatly appreciate this guy’s perspective and willingness to speak, but he’s a bit of an idiot isn’t he? The apparent disappointment that the “manifesto” didn’t reflect the intellectual rigour he expected of Mangione, when it’s unlikely he is representative of the intended audience. The dismissal of Michael Moore as a propagandist who “cherry picks facts”… dude, that’s just how you make an argument (Moore having been cited in the “manifesto” as someone better equipped to “make the argument”; again, this is in service of criticizing the quality of the “manifesto”, as well as asserting his superiority over Moore in terms of his politics i suspect). And the ignorance of saying the NHS isn’t so great, when the context is a discussion of the American health system. Like, does he know what the situation there is? Or is his criticism of the NHS that it doesn’t deliver a better product to people with wealth, class and connections, or him personally? It’s notable he doesn’t call the NHS under resourced, just says it has too many users, I.e. it’s too accessible. I’m Canadian, and our system is also plagued by long wait times for some stuff, but here (as I’m sure it is in Britain), the watchword is “triage”. I’d bet anything most Americans (the bulk of the 99%) would rather try their luck with triage than they would with deny, delay, defend.

  • @sendeth

The more I hear about Luigi, the more I like him. And what he said about trauma being inherited, this is actually scientifically proven. It's called Lamarckian evolution. It was a competitor to Darwin's theory of evolution. Lamarckian evolution shows that the current state of a creature, has an immediate effect on The offspring when they are conceived. Basically, if you are in a really bad place in your life, that can trigger certain genetic changes. These changes will carry over to your child even if you straighten things out later and become less stressed. That momentary dark spot in your life can carry certain things down. The opposite is also true. It's obviously a lot more complex than this but the basic idea is true.
I also don't think the argument about cruelty versus kindness is fair. I don't think it's right to attribute that to emotional impulsiveness. I believe it was l Yung who said that in order to be a truly good person you had to understand how to be a truly evil person. You had to confront the fact that darkness lies in all of us and that we are all capable of great evil. Once you understand that, you understand the responsibility you have to be good. I'm heavily paraphrasing but it's something to that effect.

    • @isaiahfisher2337
      @isaiahfisher2337 15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

"Lamarckian evolution" was proven wrong hundreds of years ago; you don't know what you're talking about. Genes/DNA DO NOT change during one's lifetime, except through random mutations. You will always have your unique genetic code locked away in your DNA, and nothing you do in your life - aside from bombarding yourself with radiation - will change that genetic code or change the genetic code you pass onto your offspring.
Now, if you're physically frail/ill or taking drugs/alcohol when you're pregnant, that can affect the development of your offspring, which can in turn harm their mental/physical state later in life. But that's all about development, not genes. Nothing is being "Inherited," you're just not giving your child what they need to survive/thrive. You wouldn't call a mother starving her child a "genetic change".
Now, "Epigenetics," which says that certain genes can be activated or deactivated due to environmental changes in a person's life, is a real field of study and does happen. But what epigenetic changes can/cannot be passed on to children is still VERY much open to debate, and because epigenetics is just genes turning on and off, this means even if you could "Pass on" an epigenetic change to your kid, that gene could still turn back on in that kid at some point, or in their offspring. An epigenetic change isn't a permanent change, like a genetic change would be. Which means it isn't an "evolutionary" change, and doesn't support "Lamarckian Evolution".

Luigi's personal writings, collected from his social media, reflect the level of a highly educated individual. In contrast, the so called "manifesto" seems to have been written by someone with only a high school education and some basic training. This suggests that it could be the work of someone in law enforcement trying to imitate the writing style of an Ivy League-educated person but falling miserably of course 😂.

For a Brit, he has little idea about the politics of the NHS. Like everything under the "austerity" Tories in the past decade, the NHS was run into the ground and created a lot of opportunities for privateers to chew at the edges and take over former NHS work. Tories wanted to destroy confidence in the NHS so they could axe it and convert the UK to a US-style privateer's paradise of plundering and profit in healthcare.

By definition, a propagandist is a person who publicizes or promotes a specific organization or cause. Michael Moore doesn’t promote any organization and he doesn’t seem to have a particular cause other than exposing the BS the powers that be feed us. He doesn’t even support traditionally liberal causes such as “green” energy in his films.

The economics of Healthcare are no different than anything else. It's all supply and demand driven. If there is a high demand for care and a low supply of care givers then prices will increase as will wait times for more "affordable" care. Socializing medicine doesn't change the fundamentals of economics it just changes the "currency" one uses to gain access or better quality care. A profit driven model is almost always a better approach than a control model, the issue here is the profit is not with the actual care giver but useless third parties. In the US the 3rd party is commercial insurance, in the UK its the government itself.

@ At first I was thinking you were here to claim the US system was better than a single payer healthcare system and am relieved to see we agree; the private for profit middlemen healthcare insurance companies are not only completely useless but also parasitic to we the people of the USA. They contribute nothing to the betterment of or to benefit our society yet we allow them to deny coverage for care that has been ordered by our physicians and therefore denying access to the healthcare we need. They have and continue to take so much from US. Our country continues to decline in every measure regarding the health of our citizens. Healthcare costs continue to exponentially increase. Implementing a single payer healthcare system would increase taxes for most working Americans by somewhere around $5k but these same people would see the amount of money spent on healthcare costs decrease by something like $10k. We wouldn’t lose our access to healthcare when we’re in between jobs. Our quality of life would improve, most likely, when we don’t have to worry about medical debt and fighting our parasitic healthcare companies to cover our prescribed therapies. These useless middlemen companies are literally harming our country and citizens. In order to have the privilege of operating a business in the USA; you had to demonstrate the benefits your business was providing to the communities of where your business operated.

UHC undid several of their policies after the CEO's death. Indicating that Luigi ultimately saved lives by killing a serial murderer. The question is whether we believe in vigilantism in the vacuum of enforcement by the State. If the State declares itself a monopoly on force, and by not using its force where people are dying, it is then ultimately complicit in those murders. There are many who think Luigi didn't go far though, but his targeted killing indicates this is not terrorism.
