In a city like New York almost everyone should be taking the train or bus there is no reason not to do in one of the most dense areas of the us. This also allows the poor and middle income people who take the bus or train have better functioning service so that it's easier to get to places. If you want to see the effects look at the other cities that already have it. It helps a lot more people then it hurts
