12.5k units over 3 years is actually pretty impressive for a no-name board game company (for reference, many kickstarters fund with less than a tenth of that). It's not investible, but that's the industry. For this to work, they'd need to get on a crowdfunding site so they can get paid in advance from consumers and cut out the retailer, as well as for the world distribution network to not be complete dogshit right now.
While I suspect this was fairly heavily edited because it seems we are missing a lot of information; I do agree with Kevin. He may have been abrasive, he was 100% spot on. The brothers didn’t have a business, they had a cash sucking operation and nothing more. Kevin was right when he said “numbers don’t lie”. Basically they are scratching the surface and making some money, maybe even barely breaking even, but the business itself isn’t growing or thriving and they’re building it up to seem better than it is.
Shark Tank, Dragon Den...you actually are at the mercy of the people you trying to get money/help from. Not only that, but they are far more educated on what sells. Kevin was RIGHT. Also, being in a shark/dragon position is serious. You are investing your own money and so being nice isn't priority one. And this is coming from a compassionate person. Money is serious business.
