  • In this video, I introduce you to using the fluid simulation add-on Flip Fluids for Blender. This add-on can be used to create amazing simulations of Fluids inside of Blender. In this video, we'll talk about setting up your first simulation by setting up a domain and a custom Fluid Object, then rendering an animation of that Fluid!

This is fascinating! I have some questions though. I'm attempting to make a beach scene for Daz Studio using Blender, it is going to be large and I want to create low waves lapping on the shore. I don't render in Blender, just Daz Studio.
My questions are; can the fluid be exported as a obj file at various stages of the simulation (to later create wave morphs)? What are the scale limitations for the liquid, can it create a small slice of ocean? Will I need to turn the beach plane I created into a diorama style solid?
Thank you for the video, you describe things concisely and without unnecessary additions. I appreciate that.

New Subscriber! Great content just need to find time to watch it all :) Was looking at making a few cool screen savers of coke, beer, wine juice, and water filling up the computer screens at work over 20min or so, from the bottom up so all you see is the water rising without a visual fluid input. Looks like Flip Fluide would make life a lot easier with the built-in materials. Do you do commission work?
    Cheers Nic

I am wanting to create an animation where an object (a car) rises out of a fluid (with a specific image texture on the fluid). Think Hydro-dip. The vehicle rises up out of the fluid and it appears the fluid is texturing the vehicle (vehicle is already textured with a texture). So the vehicle rises out of the fluid and the fluid disappears once the car is fully risen.
Similar to when you see a navy seal rise out of the water from below.
Can flip fluids do this? How would I get started on a effect like this?

Maybe you should use Cycles for liquid simulation... Because is better water material and some refraction.

Hey. Nice vid :) dont see what version you are using? This simulation method of flip fluids(behaviour) reminds me 2.80 blender. Am i right? Does flip fluid addon works on Blender 2.8 fluid engine system ? Currently im on 2.93 and i would say i preffer 2.80. Im still studying Blender 2.93 fluid simulation but honestly after 3 hours in 2.80 fluid simulation i rly like it.
