I have noticed you haven't really done anything with, PASSENGER boats in this game yet. New York and areas around Boston sometimes have cruise ports for cruise ships in them. I was thinking that this could be a good idea for this city, and ALSO for East haven county to be more realistic. :D (Could also bring in tourism) lol
Commenting on the parking lot about 29:00. I am a master planner, this is basically an ideal parking lot if that many spots are required. The wide green spaces in between we would design to be sunken runoff retention planted with trees and carefully selected (hopefully native) plants to pretreat the runoff before it enters the stormwater system. We are trained to design a 20’ gap between 60’ paved sections for perpendicular parking. It really does a lot to help treat runoff on site and reduce the environmental impact of such a development. You even got it oriented the correct way, as paths would be running toward the huge facility you have nearby demanding all the parking. Love it!
An idea for Fort John old harbor is to look at the seaport district in Boston, where they used to be industrial area now, redevelopment into new mix use the development and office development
Idea for the empty lot. A thing, alot of great cities have (which I realy enjoy) is some kind of public square with an opera house/ theatre/ concert house or a large public museum. Since there is a school nearby, maybe one could build one of the above and rebrand it as sth like "Academy of the Free Arts" or "... Conservatory of Fort John", where the "..." is the name of some old musician or old mayor who lived in town. Another Idea, would be a public square with some large, old government building, like a court or "ministry of finances" or sth like that. Thank You for the christmas present, that is Your video! I realy enjoy your content. Enjoy christmas and new years!
I've been watching Easthaven County since basically the beginning with Chowder Bay before it was even expanded into the other islands, and so far it's been a really fun series. Thanks infra 🎉
Since you dont have many tunnels yet, a complex infrastructure tunnel under the water from the stub road at Forge Point to connect to Fort John would be really cool. A way for the big city inhabitants to get to both their new jobs and vacation homes instead of having to drive around the entire county.
For the Coleridge lot: Please make a beautiful park with pedestrian crossings to the hospital. It would be suiting and great for the hospital’s patients/the citizens that live near the hospital. Also because the the surrounding neighborhoods are missing a large size city park to hang out and relax in.
Merry Christmas! Thank you for making such wonderful videos this year. We had our first baby in March and im so excited when you bring out a new video as my son and I can watch these in our mornings together. You're my favourite creator and i have loved seeing your cities grow! He have had so many cosy mornings on the sofa watching your videos :) I have a suggestion, how about an intelligence/FBI headquarters or campus? Sort of like Langley or Quantico? I've never seen anyone else build one of these, and i feel like it would fit the vibe of Easthaven county so well. You could add so many office jobs and of course so much surface parking! If you could fit the name Alexander in there after my son I would be over the moon and probably never stop talking about it!
Merry christmas and a happy new year! Congratulations on your first child and thank you for the kind comment! Intelligence/FBI complex is an awesome idea! Especially since I am currently reading Red October and all the details of the intelligence community are super fascinating!
For the empty site - I think an extension of the hospital would be best! Most hospitals (at least here in the UK) are not one masterplanned developed building - but instead a mish mash of different buildings from different eras all slightly awkwardly joined together. I think some other (maybe older) buildings for the hospital with a sky bridge across the road to join the two parts would be ideal. Maybe some surface parking or a service entrance around the back would be realistic too. You can even plant a sensory garden for people recovering? Thanks!!
There's never too much of Infra content and especially of Easthaven County! Also, I'm guessing you've heard of the news that Denmark proposed to buy the US and finally make America great with proper healthcare and education. 😅 Merry Christmas Infra!
Only commenting on 13:20 because i truly cannot help myself but it’s extremely extremely unlikely that freight track turnouts would interact with more than 2 tracks. turnouts (or Points) are the places where a track turns on to another track. In this rail yard you have sections where one track can change into four tracks which is just sooooo unrealistic. i think the absolute maximum would be 3 tracks where one track can turn left, right or continue ahead. Regardless, looks really cool!
TH-cam gave me a year in review showing my stats. This channel was my most watched with 10x the averages viewer and in the top 2%….. I guess I owe you a thank you for all the time I’ve enjoyed these. Please never stop or I’ll have to actually do some work lol
There's a 1,400 space parking garage beautifully hidden beneath Post Office Square Park in downtown Boston. Thirty years ago, there was a 1,000 space above-ground parking structure there; now, it's a nice green space.
For John's Bay, I recommend you take a look at the Gasometer Plant and the Maua Docks of Porto Alegre - Brazil and see how the old docks and the new developments mix together, for a great inspiration! And Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for you and Ms. Infra :)
Love the episode and especially the tower under construction. On little point of improvement, and probably not possible with the current probs. But irl the lower crane would have a short boom, so it can turn freely into the wind without hitting the taller crane.
Great work I think you should add an auxiliary road to the island with only train tracks as it’s kinda unrealistic to build that infrastructure without a road to aid the construction Continuations of a great work and have a great new year!
Railyard nom! But you've got me thinking about the "medium" stations and the "back exits"... I should probably look at making those an optional expansion. The bay actually has a quite squared off end to it, making it look like that's where the old fishing and landing harbour may have been.
Really think it would look cool to put a watertower inside the turn-around rail-thingy in Forge Point 😊 Would give it a very classic rail-industry-look- perhaps the area have been around since the steam-engine trains 😊
You should clip some of those factory buildings to create a big factory complex in forge point - ie a big car factory or similarly scaled huge building. Looks great! (ps I hate your rail yards so much haha)
Hey, hope you have a very Merry Christmas too, hearing your idea for John's Bay kind of reminded me of what Baltimore has basically done with their old inner port (which is called Inner Harbor on google maps), I'd love to see you take some inspiration from that and think it would fit Fort John pretty well.
I want to add that you probably miss some great opportunities by not looking into all those new assets from japan pack and the last free pack (adding parks and parkings), there is really some great assets that you probably can use very efficiently ! :D (You used some of course ; but there is so much )
56:25 scaffolding is on the OUTSIDE of a building sir 😂 we already let you get away with giant cranes on top of a building 😮 😂 the whole building would fall in real life 😂😂
I don't know about train rules, but maybe change it in such a way that the tracks from the station/yard don't cross the road? It seems to me like that would create very dangerous situations, especially when all the traffic coming in through the one way section has to cross those tracks. Maybe make the main road go underneath the tracks and one lane coming off before the underpass that goes to the Switchon factory. The alley at the back of the station could stop at the entrance.
I worked by a Coca Cola factory once and the Switchcon parking lot is pretty realistic, the one thing is that the grass/trees would likely be on a curb
I would consider a passenger train connection from Fort John to Forge Point. Its a really long way to drive and Forge Point already had some trouble getting enough workers:D
maybe you can use a spot in the harbor district for the import of cars, truck or company vehicles. I think this can ad some futher detail to the port area and it is super simpel to do. Just ad some rows or cars, possible with some kind of parking/organizing structure, next to a ship and you are there. Even adding some different colors of cars next to each other could look great
I had an idea for the space, but I don't know how it'll look. At my elementary we had painted asphalt like the top of the building. I don't know if the colors will match, but something like you did for Oak Park's skateboarding area to mirror the roof would tie the elevation down.
Usually roads in the US aren't named "Pikeway." I suggest renaming the Cape Rose Pikeway to: Cape Rose Pike Using just the word "Pike" is much more common (at least where I live) and especially in highly suburban and rural areas.
How does your game look so nice? The little uk village you did the other day looked more like my setup but this one ground textures, water and trees look great... Why?
39:32 ok so im a bit confused, bc i see lots of youtubers doing this, but how do i get the careful placement and access to the individual building models, is it a mod?
Could the promenade of Port John reflect the Seattle waterfront? You could leave a gap along the road where an elevated ugly asf highway used to run through the city (1960s crazy planning) and where it’s been demolished in recent years and turned into a park? Then on the other side you have a series of old quays with dock buildings on them - old warehouse buildings that are now tourist attractions and fancy office spaces
I'm not at all an expert on how they build skyscrapers myself lol (I mean, tbf, who is?), but I'm pretty sure that, most of the time, they use one crane that's mounted in the middle of the building for reasons of weight distribution, and it's just efficient to use one crane. I've also heard that they also try and use what will become the lift shafts to mount the crane.
Sterling lake's elevation seems super dangerous for the residents especially considering families with kids are gonna be around it in the row housing Also I believe downtown would look super nicer and more realistic if you expanded it towards queen's Cape
Rather than a bay, you should do a mountain range between the new industrial district and the cape rose vacation area. A physical barrier would probably help keep the upmarket vibe intact.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays 🥰🥰 Thank you all for everything!

sorry kids, I can't care for you right now. Infrastructurist just uploaded 1 hour of content about building a downtown that doesn't exist.

Absolutely perfect timing! I had just finished watching the 3 hours of content from last week!

You're welcome 😁😁
If downtown is inspired by Boston, you need a "Big Dig" underground freeway in the center of downtown.
You could add a small beach in fort john as a park and add a lighthouse with a story with it

That weird roundabout/intersection in the industrial zone has a super dangerous section with both merging lanes colliding leaving the area
also use that lot for some courtyard buildings

you should add in forge point a small port/ pier for barges and fishing boats

Fort John legitimately looks like a mix between Boston and Providence, RI. You've done an incredible job with this.

When you plopping the growables you are start the game 1-0, but I will insist not to use it 😅 Gonna watch the episode part by part rn
17:40 one of the worst and most dangerous interchange/roundabout ever seen in my life.
I'd love to see a High-tech office lot, maybe a private college campus?!
Sterling lake's elevation seems super dangerous for the residents especially considering families with kids are gonna be around it in the row housing

Putting a church on the empty block would look great imo
The cranes should be yellow and cyan.
They actually stand out since all the buildings are greyscale.
Forge point sounds like a TH-cam channel lol. How about Twin Points Industrial Park?
I think you should try and make an archaeological dig site in that elementary school lot
We should build a shipyard
We will, already planned! 🚢🛳️🛥️

Honestly… Riverview was my fav city, but I’m starting to like this one…… more?? Idk 🤷♂️ nice vid btw
How do you get those unelectrified warehouse/train props?
Rather than a bay, you should do a mountain range between the new industrial district and the cape rose vacation area. A physical barrier would probably help keep the upmarket vibe intact.
YEAYYY !
I’ve been thinking about making the clean industrial zone! How hard was it to do?
i had no interest in this game until i stumbled upon your videos. i ll get it as soon as i upgrade my pc
Will the Warehouse/Light Industrial be added to the Plaza?
Any chance you can upload the custom industry zone? Would love to use it in my build.
