- We're starting a new mid-size American city in Easthaven County, Massachusetts! We begin by developing some of the heaviest infrastructure: highway networks, intersections, and ramps - passenger railways with a big central station, and last but not least, freight rail access! We build several custom bridges along the way and use mods and road builder extensively. Hope you enjoy!

Congratulations for your marriage, Infra! 🎉
Lets goooooo with anotha epic chapter
Thank you very much!
@@Infrastructurist congratulations ! mine is next year woop woop
@@InfrastructuristCONGRATULATIONS on your MARRIAGE 🎉, many happy years together.
That's a vintage Infra episode. Insane road building, plenty of bridges, removal of homes - the American way!😂 I absolutely love these type of episodes when you just plan the layout of future cities, your vision is second to none.
Last but not least, congratulations once again on the wedding!
Thank you thank you thank you, Danon!
How about Fort John. A fort established in the 1600s for revolutionary war uses, most famous for taking down 8 british ships in a day, taken down somewhere in the 1800s due to lack of employment, and fires, and later bought by private investors, and rebuilt as a city. Great video by the way.
Maybe add Town to it because the English weren’t always good at Naming stuff (Newport & Portland for example) into Fort Johnstown because there is a town near the fort.
@@PanemEtCircuses I mean, maybe? Although Im kinda just keeping in mind that if i get chosen, infra is gonna have to say all the time"Lets go back to ______". Im sure he'll look at the comments, he can decide.
Considering the massive infrastructure, I think Bridgeport would be a great name of this city.
As it’s based on Massachusetts.. I think it would be beneficial to have some puritan inspired city names. For example, Cromwell which is named after Olivier Cromwell who was an English military and political leader that happened to be a puritan.
Also Newbury, as it was settled by puritans.
Newpury? 😁
On the old bridge pillions, add a pedestrian road that goes out to the first one as like a viewing deck. A lot of times old infrastructure is repurposed for pedestrian use. Like the elevated tracks in NYC that became a park for example
Good to have you back! (:
Love your massive US infrastructure builds. "We're gonna put this three level intersection here, because theres a slight valley, so yeah. "
And the music.
Always love the music.
I'm basically American by now. I might as well embrace it!
@@Infrastructurist Love the build !!! You should cover the remaining pillars of the old bridge in graffiti decals to show that they’ve been there for ages and graffiti artists have travelled by boat to paint on them since the government was too lazy to demolish them , Since then those graffiti covered pillars become a symbol of the old infrastructure and as a tourist attraction to the city
Haven't even watched the video yet, but i know it's going to be a banger. Infra is probably one of the best cs2 creators on youtube, up there with Dirty H and Sully. Keep them coming!
agreed, infrastructurist is my second favorite youtuber after jack sucks at life and my favorite cs2 youtuber
I really Like his Style But nothing comes close to two dollars twenty
Akruas
city planner plays is #1 without question. his style of videos is unparalleled and his city building skills unmatched.
@@leetster6303 CPP has the best story telling for sure but his cities aren't the most detailed or the most interesting IMO. I really enjoy that they're often very realistic due to his background though
One thing you can do is grab a bridge road and use "Move it" to clip it into a normal highway road. It will take a little bit of alignment but it will allow you to use road builder and also have the cables
This is what happens when you comment before watching the whole vid🤦♂️
😆
@@Proxilemit Hahaha - Im just happy you watched it all ;)
I was coming to talk about Road builder as well, but first waited to finish the video.. So he didn't do what I was thought you were perhaps suggesting, using Road Builder mod to bypass all the Move it stuff. I'm gonna check if that's possible.
That island is tiny for a mid-sized city methinks. Maybe some land reclamation ala Boston is in the horizon? Hopefully, it's gonna be awful cramped otherwise.
As for name suggestions, I think something that sounds british like Oxford, Plymouth, Manchester, etc would fit the area and city perfectly.
You're right, I was thinking the very same thing while laying down this infrastructure. The port alone will require substantial land reclamation :-)
Oak Lock was founded in the early 1800s on an oak-covered island. Though accessible by boat, train, and road, the city remains "locked" by its island setting. The name reflects both the dense oak forests and its unique, isolated charm. Today, Oak Lock thrives with a rich history and a distinct identity shaped by its beautiful, self-contained landscape.
Yes!! I love how you take care of the maximum slope a freight train can realistically take
43:30 the addition of the old bridge remnants is such a great idea, it brings so much to the build
Love the big messy interchange, but I think it could use some more lanes! In the main roads crossing underneath, I think there should be some turning lanes for the left turns not to block throughgoing traffic.
The newly founded city should be called Archaven
Massachusetts town names come in one of three categories
1: Native name (Hyannis, Massachusetts, etc)
2: English name (Boston, Braintree, etc.)
3. Revolutionary war name (Revere, etc.)
So you could name it Putnam, who was a general in the US army during the battle for Bunker Hill
You could also name it Franklin, or Hancock
My favorite part of the interchange is the fact you upgraded the middle segments to highway so there's no sidewalks; completely preventing people from safely walking under the highway. Common American city planner W.
Your videos became part of my life and i felt the absence of it in this last two weeks :)thank you for creating this banger content and congrats on your marriage🎉
Thank you very much for the kindness 🥰
Baleia, Massachusetts.
Massachusetts and Rhode Island have a large Portuguese demographic, primarily near their coastal border. When Portuguese Immigrants sailed from Portugal to New England, many took whaling ships, which sometimes stopped to hunt a whale. Portuguese Immigrants took note of this, and when they began establishing their own communities, many were named after the whales, including Baleia, which is just Portuguese for whale.
edit: also a nice break from english names
That idea for the custom bridge is just peak creativity, congratulations
15:15 realistically, there will be a few breaks in the median so that official vehicles (e.g. ambulances, fire trucks) can make emergency turns. its not too bad, just put a “no u turn” sign there or something
Was gonna comment this too
You've made my mess make sense Katie hahaha
I love you all
Congrats on making this video. I know it took a while and you’re pretty busy right now. I wish you and you fiancée/future wife the best of luck in years to come. And I think the new town should be called Ø by its danish for Island town. It was founded by a Danish person Alfred Anderson. Alfred loved living on islands which inspired him to come to America during when it was being colonized in the 1600s. Since the British claimed most of the East coast Massachusetts islands were not claimed by anybody. So Alfred and a few danish citizens went together and claimed this island and named it Ø by. They built a few houses and an elementary school which he named after his daughter. Olivia elementary. In 1724, Anderson died and in his honor they named the high school after his last name. Anderson high school.
Thank you!!
@@InfrastructuristI am not really good with backstories😅. This is my first time doing it.
"That looks super funky... I like it!"🤣
As a masshole myself, what about Prescott? A real Mass town lost during the construction of Quabbin Reservoir which gives Boston their drinking water? Another name could be Sakonet, a Native American tribe that was settled in the area East Haven County was in Mass.
You are by far my favorite Skylines2 CC. Love your sense of humor and commentary. I always end up firing the game up after watching one of your videos if I have time. My fav series is Riverview, I learned so much from that build but this video is one of my favorites. Just asking yourself, how big can I go on infrastructure, let's find out?
I think you can actually raise the elevation for the central station a bit to make the passenger rail a bit flatter + make the topography more interesting near the city center lol
You could use your road builder to build a custom train station on this "Rubber Ducky" island.
Unironically found your voice calming and helped me sleep. Watching it this morning and love the video!
The thumbnail makes me so excited. As for the name, I would go with Fairport (I imagine a city with a major harbour and good quality of life for its citizens).
I think it would be a great Idea to make a luxury place on the hills sort of like Beverly hills, or you could also build a luxury high rise neighborhood overlooking the sea/bay.
That bridge crossover is immaculate. One of the best thing's I've seen built in CS:2 so far.
I don’t know if it’s fitting in your plans of development, but it would be cool to keep the lake and the nature around it as a organic city park. The view from the highway of the lake with skyscrapers in the background would be nice :)
WOOO 🥳 new upload!! New upload from my favorite ✨married✨ TH-camr, that is 😂❤🎉
Hahahaha - thanks!
Great build! Congratulations on your wedding. Lots of blessings to your future together 🎉
Happy for you man ! Congrats x
The road layout for the new city is really nice but you should also try to reclaim some of the land because it’s going to be a huge city.
My best suggestions are Oakwood or Rocky falls
I really appreciate that you leave the game paused when you’re building a new area. I do it too and I can’t tell you how much money I’ve left on the table by not letting the city run in the background 😂
You could repurpose the old national road bridge pillars into a pier or jetty for a small park or beach.
how about we name the city Ambervale or Amber Inlet? because when i look at the island i somehow imagine that amber mining was the main business when it was founded
To make the big interchange "More Beautiful" you need to snake a train line somewhere through the middle
The middle pillar for the cable bridge at 10 minutes in should be the tallest!! also great video!!
What about choosing an indigenous name for the main city? Lots of place names in New England are anglicized versions of indigenous words and names describing the landscape.
18:42 oh gods, this road design reminds me of the wacky road design where i live, Edmonton. Especially around the river valley. The roads get so complex to navigate
DEER HAVEN - Once an abundant Indian hunting ground. It grew to become a small, thriving fishing village. Known for its scenic vistas whale watching cruises and hiking trails, the island has seen consistent residential, commercial, retail and steady population growth.
43:43 I enjoy adding historical items to my cities like this too!
The town could be called Lupine, named after the native Perennial Lupine flower common to the small island where the city is. Lupine originally served as a shipyard for the region’s trading companies.
Im so glad youre working on this series again
I'm definitely like the Town of Hyannis which is one of the towns along Cape Cod and has some light industries and tourist as well.
You may have to recalm land like in Boston.. connect the island to the main land.
Congratulations on your wedding ,and mind blowing work as always (du burde vært ingeniør😉)
Idea for the old bridge pillars, not sure how possible it is in-game. Make it a pier like the old Skyway Skyway Bridge that turned into Skyway Fishing Pier State Park after it got hit by a boat. They had to rebuild the bridge but had a few surviving pillars and the road that they repurposed into the pier.
i think city planner plays would cry watching you lay out roads with a 9% incline in an american-style playthrough
u can use the road builder to mod the bridges that have the beuty pillars and make it easier? like putting the train tracks and getting rid of the road part
I have a story for the old brige,
A first brige was bild in 1920, but it felt for the poor maintenance, then some rich men try to built another bridge, but it run out of money after the costruction of the pillar.
Later in the 60' the state decided to built the interstate bridge.
would be cool to run the rail line in the middle of the bridge segmate, just for the giggle lol
looks like it could be an old limestone quarry in the middle of the island. Might be some lore around it. Limestone is white. White cove beach
You’ve probably already got a name for this area but i was thinking fishhook cove as it kind of resembles one. the backstory could be it was used as an old fishing village
Would be cool if you made a custom train station instead, there is also possible to use road-builder for it
That is insane. Is all of this in the main game already? Like road dividers, adding new lanes, bridge pillars? Or is it just extremely modded? And if so, where the video so i can steal it? :P
Lots of mods, but they are easy to implement and use!
grat work on the bridges and loving the complicated interchange
That interchange is crazy 😭😭 it looks so cool but damnnn is it over-engineered for that sized town on a lil island. Great video as always tho ofc
Welcome back inframan, Missed u so much ❤🔥❤🔥
Thanks!!
Duckberg, founded by Scrouge McDuck, because from the overhead view of the island looks like a duck without its bill
Congratulations, dude! 🎉
i have a suggestion, for the custom roads, you could name it 2/2SC for two lane, two way single carriageway. Whereas two lane two way dual carriageway it's 2/2UN etc
Just raw dogged this whole series AUDIO ONLY let’s go baby
Congrats of the wedding!!!
already know its gonna be a banger when infrastructurist uploads
Couldn't wait any longer for this episode, really !! ❤
the name of the new city would be "Neu Bay" because, say, the Dutch/German explorers/settlers arrived in this group of islands first, and that town was formed when the people living there still spoke their own language, not English
Coalville or Hugglescote? They are my childhood towns, Hugglescote being a village near Coalville. Its where star wars figurines were first made and the birth place of care bears. Also as the name suggests it has a rich mining history
If you're thinking Boston for this build then don't be afraid to reclaim some land. At least half of modern day Boston's land used to be underwater.
FINALLY NEW VIDEO!!! ❤
Congratulations on your marriage. Great video. Why not lift the railway station and even mirror it, so it faces the little lake instead of the sea. In this way the incline will not be so steep. (Which will go for both sides if you are continuing the railroad.) Could even be a park there, around that lake, surrounded by tall buildings. It sounds like you are making a really tight urban centre here with lots of skyscrapers. You are allready layering the infrastructure. Why not go full Gotham City?
haven’t watched it cause im about to go do something but i cant wait to watch it when im back YAYYYY i didn’t get to watch the first series from the beginning but now i do
idk a good name but make it a boom town during the 60s after being a old mining town
Happy you're back! 😊
Just a little correction. Route 28 isn't an interstate. It's a Massachusetts state route. If you want an interstate to use that runs through that area, you can use I-195.
I've waited so long for a new video !! So glad you posted. Congrats for your wedding man
I just subscribed to you because of the work you put in to this game. Keep it up!! 💯
IRCC, the % of elevation max is 3% for Fret and 4% for passagers. Around those lines.
If you wanted to add even more beef to the interchange you could use move it to pull out some of the nodes at the cross roads and interchange to embiggen them further >:)
use the road builder mod to on the truss arch bridge and change the car lanes, with train tracks.
Aw you should put the rail above or below on the bridge ladder
Actually you can do nice railway bridges with the roadbuilder tool...
Beautiful build as always! I love your videos, voice, attention to detail, music, adding the right mods, cinematics and whatnot. You relax me deeply. Thank you ♥♥
Also big congratz to your marriage OMG! i am dating a new girl which feels like she could be in my life for much longer because I think we're into each other similarly. I have yet to show her your videos as example of what is my favourite thing to watch.
(maybe you could look a bit more at real-world train infrastructure, i feel like)
I thought you might use Road builder to use the 6 lane road with the stay cables, and edit it into a highway while keeping the cables. (not sure of possible but I'm going to check now to see if you can do that using the bridges and manipulating them.
Missed your videos, Infra! I've been keeping an eye on your channel to see if there's a new upload lol 😅
Congrats on your wedding too!🎊 Wish you and your wife great things in the future!✨️ Keep it up man :>
That intersection you created under I-25 is extremely dangerous in my opinion. A distracted or impaired driver could exit the highway…and blow right thru the intersection…now going the opposite way of traffic, back up onto the highway in the wrong direction
You’re the best infra , welcome back shout out from Saudi. Really hope you start a middle eastern city. New challenge new followers
Hey, for the move-it train bridge don’t you think you could have used the better roads mod (or whatever mod it is) to put the beautiful road bridge and make it a train bridge?
Something british like New Manchester? Or Newport / Newbrigde? Or go for something with more character like Old Spirit Island / New Salem / Witch Creek / Skull Bay City or Dead Man Island?
Reminds me of spaghetti junction in Birmingham england I drove around in last week!
As always its pleasure to watch your videos. Really good stuff bro.
Talking about name of new city I propose Salem. I know it provides infamous history but I'm sure you can figure it out and rewrite it's history.
Welcome back! Congrats on the wedding. Wasn't expecting an hour of just road/rail infrastructure building but here we are lmao jk😂
I don't think I've ever seen an elevated highway with intersections
Western Bay that is a good name for a city
